Twilight Sparkle threw herself onto her bed. Her room was completely trashed; books, saddles and broken telescopes were strewn across the floor. Spike sat on the porch outside the front door. Twilight had thrown him through the window when he wouldn't leave until she told him what was wrong. She lay on the bed, sobbing into her pillow. Another Friday night, another rejection by another stallion.
She couldn't figure out why nopony ever wanted to be with her. She was smart, skilled at magic and a very good friend. She knew from Rarity that she wasn't bad looking, one might even go as far as to say she was very attractive, but nopony seemed to care. Even if they didn't care about her, they could still at least try and use her to get connections with the princess who was, after all, a personal friend of the purple mare.
Twilight beat her hooves against the bed and screamed, not caring if anypony outside heard. They all knew by now that nopony liked her, nopony wanted her. Even Berry Punch hadn't given her a chance and she had been piss drunk at the time. Every time she asked somepony out, they always said no and found some excuse to leave immediately.
She sat up, her eyes rimmed with tears. She'd had enough. Nopony deserved to be treated this way, even Fluttershy could get a date when she wanted one, no matter how rarely that happened. Spike had gotten a few offers, though he had to turn them down for several reasons, usually just because he was too young, but a few times were because he just wasn't into stallions.
"If nopony will take me," Twilight said, her voice harsh from crying, "then nopony can have me." She walked into the kitchen, making sure the windows were all closed and locked. She even went so far as to put up a force field around the interior of the library so that nopony could get inside without her express permission.
She pulled out a pair of knives, the big sharp ones Spike used when he was making a gem encrusted treat for himself. She carried them up to the bathroom in her mouth, not noticing the lines of pain that flared across her mouth as the steel bit into her. She filled the tub with warm water and climbed in, ready to do the final act of revenge against all those ponies who had denied her for so long.
She climbed into the tub and placed the knife against her leg, just below the hoof. The veins seemed to beat violently at the cold pressure. She readied herself to pull the knife, but a small flash caught her eye. The light reflected in the wide blade and shot into her eye, leaving a small white spot that followed her vision.
She turned the knife, not wanting to be blinded as she finally left this world; a world where nopony could appreciate her for anything. A world she had missed out on for almost her entire life because she had been given the wrong ideas about what was important. A small gleam of purple shone in the polished metal and she tilted it a little farther to see what it was. She saw her face, thrown back at her by the knife.
“No, no. That can’t be right,” she said, taken aback, “that’s not… that’s not me is it?” Her mane was a huge purple rat’s nest, the red streak barely visible amongst the tangles. Her eyes had deep bags under them and were rimmed red from her crying. A red line showed her how far the knife had sunk in as she climbed the stairs. Small crimson rivers flowed slowly down her face, pushed along by the slow steady beat of her pulse. All signs of intelligence were gone from her usually bright eyes. They were now dark and dull, deep shadows that seemed to pull one in and trap them in an endless pit of sorrow and self-loathing.
“How far have I come?” she began crying again, the clear tears mixed with the flow of her lifeblood making a large series of crisscrossing tracks that stained her fur. She looked over at the still steamy water and the two knifes lying by it, their blades already dampened by her blood. She thought of how she had screamed and cried for hours and had thrown Spike out the window because he wanted to help, to ease her pain. She had thought she suffered like none before. Nopony could understand her pain, but they tried to help.
Twilight remembered how all of her friends had tried to find out what was wrong with her. How they had noticed the signs of her depression. It worsened every week, her face darkening with every rejection. They eventually found out that it had something to do with her being alone and had tried to set her up on a few dates. Each one had been the same; Twilight showed up ten minutes early and waited. After three hours she was usually completely drunk, unable to even stand without help. Her date still hadn’t shown. Eventually the local business owners had caught on to this and regarded her with a sense of pity. Every time she showed up dressed to look her best, and every time she drank herself into oblivion. She always woke up back in the library, head pounding, dried tears obscuring her face, the bill from the night before always mysteriously lost by the owners.
Her friends realized that this wasn’t going to work and that it was only making things worse. They started making them blind dates. Twilight had continued to agree to these out of desperation. It didn’t help. Now instead of waiting for hours with no sign of her date, she’d wait for a few minutes, a pony would walk in, see her at the predetermined table and would run out. She’d still wait for him to come back. He never would. Soon they caught on and stopped showing up at all.
“No,” Twilight said, pushing away the horrible memories. “I can’t let them win. If they won’t take me, I’ll take them.” She cleaned up her face, hid the knives away and let Spike in. He gave her a long sad look as he walked in. he seemed to know what she had been about to do and just how close she had come.
“Twili-” he began.
She closed her bedroom door in his face, “not now Spike.” She expected him to complain. To insist on talking to her. She wanted him to. She NEEDED him to. He didn’t, he just sighed and walked outside.
Twilight cried herself to sleep that night. Nothing new, she had been doing the same for most of her life.

Spike, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were gathered around a table at the Sugarcube Corner. Pinkie had set them all up with a few drinks and a plate of snacks.
“I can’t get her to talk to me about it,” Spike finished, too upset to touch even Pinkie’s special triple sapphire supreme cupcakes, his personal favorite.
“I just don’t understand why nothing is working,” Rarity said, “surely by now SOMEPONY would have given her a chance.”
“Yeah, for Celestia’s sake, ah set her up with mah cousin Adanac last month. He lost his virginity to mule fer chrissakes! He didn’t even look twice at Twailaight.”
“There must be something we can do,” Pinkie said, her mane was straight and dark, a good sign that she was upset about the whole situation, “there’s somepony for everypony.”
“Not this pony,” Rainbow Dash said. She looked around as everyone gasped and looked at her amazed. RAINBOW DASH suggest giving up? Such a thing was unheard of. “What? Look at what we’ve tried. We basically put a ‘Free sex’ sign around her neck and still nopony would take her.”
“Actually dear,” Rarity said, looking slightly red, “we tried that a while back when Twilight and I took a trip to Manehatten. We actually tried to get her raped.”
“Did… did it work?” Fluttershy asked softly.
“Nope,” Spike said, “she cried about that one for weeks. She couldn’t even get somepony to force her into it, let alone have it be willing for both of them.”
They spent the rest of the night talking, trying to find some way to help the lonely unicorn. One by one they all nodded off. A look of concern on all of their faces, even in their sleep.
Twilight Sparkle: Mare at Large
Several weeks had passed since the incident with the knives. Twilight’s friends noticed that she seemed much happier lately. They didn’t want to ask for fear of stepping into a forbidden topic, but it seemed that she had a new bounce in her step and a new light in her eye. Other ponies around town noticed this too and assumed that she must have finally found somepony. By now, her rejections were famous amongst the local gossip mills.
Twilight was happy for a similar reason to what everypony thought, but not a reason they would have approved of. Her plans had finally come together. She was skilled and ready and she had made every necessary precaution to cover her tracks. Tonight would be the night; the night she was finally with somepony as it was meant to be, a stallion with his mare… whether he approved or not.
She had asked Applejack’s brother, Big Macintosh, to come by. She said she had found some type of passage under the library and she needed his help to move the ‘big heavy bookcases.’ And, ‘would he please help her out, she was such a small weak little pony.’ She batted her eyelashes and tried to look as alluring as possible. This seemed to give him pause, but he slowly agreed to come help. It was set.

Big Mac walked into the library at a little past five. Spike was out spending the night with the Cutie Mark Crusaders and he wouldn’t be back for a couple of days; they had gone camping with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. He looked around, already unsure of the mare’s intentions. If it hadn’t been for the fact that she was friends with his sister, he would’ve said he wouldn’t come.
Twilight stepped out from behind the door as he entered. She silently closed it and slid the lock into place. He must have heard a slight noise for he whirled around, visibly creeped out. Twilight gave him a small seductive smile, but it only made things worse, he began actively looking for a way out, not even bothering to hide it.
“Uh, hey Twilight,” he said as he turned, trying to find another exit. Each window and door was closed and locked. They were covered by a shield of magic as he looked at them. “You said you needed help movin’ somethin’?”
“Oh, I suppose you could put it that way,” she said, slowly walking towards him; her heart pounded in her chest. She had been anticipating pleasure like this ever since she first asked somepony out. That had begun her spiral into depression, slow at first, but ever gaining in speed.
Big Mac moved back as quickly as she advanced. A few steps brought him to the wall, though this didn’t keep him from trying to escape. His eyes shot wildly form side to side. Suddenly his hooves began glowing with a strange pinkish light and they were forced against the wall, spreading his body out and revealing his lower body. Twilight stepped forward and licked him slowly, starting down by his legs and ending on his chest; that being as high as she could reach. He tasted salty; sweat had been trapped in his fur by long years of hard work. He also had a sweet juicy taste, one that Twilight could identify easily: macintosh apples.
She used magic to hold his tongue down so he couldn’t say anything and flattened him out on the floor. His massive red body strained against the magic, but even Big Mac’s huge strength couldn’t defeat the power of magic, something so deeply entwined within Twilight. She lay down on his stomach, staring into his eyes. Twilight leaned in and planted a kiss on his mouth, her tongue easily sliding into his mouth. She ran it around his mouth, tasting him; more apples.
She held this for several long minutes, extracting as much pleasure as she could from each movement. Soon, she felt she’d had enough to satiate her for now. She ran a hoof slowly down his chest, grinding against him. “So my big friend, shall we continue?” She turned around and began wriggling her rump seductively in his face. He tried turning his head away, but another band of pink light held it in place. His instincts began to get the better of him and he started trying to dart his head forward.

She really was good at what she did, better than most. His smile drew a few stares, but knowing Big Mac, most just assumed he had come from some mare’s house. There was no way to be sure who’s though so they didn’t ask.
Twilight began cleaning up the mess before it could dry. She found huge splotches of it stuck in her mane sucked absently at them as she quickly wiped the floor with her magic. She could still taste the powerful sensation of apples in her mouth and she could smell it all over her body.
Twilight couldn’t take her mind off it. It had been everything she expected and more. It almost made up for the incredible wait she was forced to endure. “And that was only once,” she said to herself, “there can always be so much more.” She smiled as she contemplated what ‘desert’ would be like.
