How They Got Their Nicknames
They had been asked many times “How did you get that nickname?” and to be honest it was a good questions. Their nicknames didn’t really make sense to most people. But when the nicknames include Applejack and Fluttershy it can be seen as a bit odd. So one day when they were once again asked by one of their co-workers or friends they decided to tell them the story of how the six of them earned their nicknames.

Amelia Sparkle sighed. She was bored beyond relief and her friendly outing with Keanna and Samantha had gotten out of hand. Truly she had only come along to babysit and she wasn’t doing a good job of it. They had already been chased by the police once and Amelia had to bail them out then. They were lucky the officer that had been chasing them had owed her a solid or their butts would be in jail right about now. Signing again and looking at her friends who were playing on the playground equipment and successfully scaring every child within a ten meter radius it was obvious she was truly babysitting two overgrown twenty year olds.
“Samantha, I swear to god if you go near that poor boy again I will go over there and kick your butt into next week” she said she watched as her friend trying to sneak up behind a younger boy, probably planning to scare him.
“Damn wet blanket” she heard Samantha mutter before running back over to the slide.
“And Keanna” Amelia began as she watched her friend setting up some random contraption that would most certainly be used for some prank “Do I even need to say anything” she watched Keanna drop the pinecones and walk back over to the swings. Yep she was babysitting and she deserved to be getting paid for this. But once again she would go with only the experience of ‘quality time with her friends’. What she needed was to be back at her apartment studying for the next test she had, it was a week away but she needed to ace it if she wanted to keep her perfect 4.0 grade point average. But of course none of their friends where free to babysit these two so the job fell to Amelia. Oh they owed her, this evening could not get any worse.
“AMY”
Looking towards the owner of the voice, Keanna of course and waited for her instructions which she would turn down.
“COME PUSH ME ON THE SWINGS” Keanna squealed like a five year old. Grumbling as she got up and walked over to her friend sitting on the swing.
“How old are you again” Amelia asked her after walking over to her.
“I’m twenty and I want you to push me on the swing” Keanna squealed. Raising an eyebrow at her, Amelia rolled her eyes.
“Please” Keanna pleaded.
“Fine” Amelia grumbled and walked behind the girl and she squealed in delight like a young child. She began pushing the girl as she searched the park for Samantha but couldn’t find her anywhere. Hopefully she hadn’t burned anything or hurt herself as something.
“Geez” she mumbled to herself “I don’t have time to look for that-“
“BWAH!!” yelled a voice from behind here.
“WHAH” Amelia squealed jumping a bit and in the process had Keanna and her swing hit her in the stomach in the process. Clutching her stomach and moaning in pain she turned to the perpetrator to see Samantha laughing her ass off.
“I’m sorry Amy” Keanna said from behind her.
“I swear to god Samantha if I wasn’t in pain your ass would be in next week by now. So why the hell did you scare the crap out of me?” Amelia demanded.
“I’m sorry you looked so peaceful. I had to scarce the shit out of you” Samantha said between laughs.
“That’s still not an excuse for scaring me”
“Oh your right I’m terribly soring for interrupting your little romantic couple moment” Samantha said teasingly.
Feeling her checks heat up she yelled “FOR THE A BILLIONTH TIME WE ARE NOT A COUPLE! REMBER THAT FOR ONCE”
“Geez I forgot you’re touchy on the subject that you and Keanna aren’t dating. I’m terribly sorry if triggered your anger” Samantha said in mock apology.
“I swear to god you and Sophia need to team up or something”
“Naw she already is teamed up with Chrissy to try to hook you two up. I just use you two as entertainment”
“Geez now I know Jaki is my only ally in this battle” Amelia said in a sarcastic voice.
“Twilight” Keanna whispered.
“Hmm” Amelia questioned as she turned around.
“Twilight” Keanna said louder this time.
“Keanna I don’t want to talk about crappy vampire novels” Amelia said.
“No Twilight as in the time. Twilight is going to be your nickname” Keanna declared.
“Huh” came the consecutive reply of both Amelia and Samantha.
“I’ve decided that the six of us need nicknames”
“Keanna I hate to tell you but you already call me Amy and Samantha, Sammy. We already have nicknames”
“No interesting nicknames that define who we are duh”
“So why am I named after a crappy novel?”
“I named you it cause your purple hair reminds me of twilight” Keanna said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Oh well I guess that makes sense” Amelia said.
“Also you’re pretty just like twilight” Keanna said happily and then she smiled.
Amelia felt her face heat up at that remark.
“Apparently I didn’t ruin the romantic moment you two had going on” Samantha said with a smirk.
“Samantha you have ten second head start. You better get running” Amelia said ominously.
Keanna watched her friend chase after her other friend, threatening to kill her, from the swing while laughing.

“Oh My God Samantha what the hell did you do to your hair?!” screeched Sophia the minute Samantha set foot in the apartment.
“Ugh please don’t mention it Sophie” Samantha said with a groan “I came over here hopefully before Chrissy or someone else comes over so you could fix it”
“I don’t know, it kinda suits you”
“Sophie it is freaking RAINBOW, RAINBOW GOD DAMN IT!”
“Oh Samantha dear THIS is too much for you? This coming for the girl who has dyed her hair blue, green, lime green, red, black, blue and numerous other colors? I mean you’ve practically dyed your hair the rainbow already”
“Yeah but this sooooo doesn’t look cool, please work your magic” Samantha pleaded.
“Well I’ll see what I can do. Come on take of your shirt and let’s head to the sink”
“You’re the best Sophie”
“I know darling” Sophie said as she walked over to her supplies and they lead Samantha to the kitchen.
“Oi Sophia I’m back” Chrissy shouted as she entered the apartment “And I’ve brought some guests” she added as two others entered the apartment.
“I still think it’s a good name for you” Keanna said.
“I still think you could have named me something else besides a crappy movie” Amelia, now know by her friends as Twilight, “I mean it’s been two weeks and no one else has a stupid nickname”
“They are not stupid Twily” Keanna said with a gasp “They are-“
“Sophia you’re most certainly not the best anymore” came an infuriated cry from the kitchen.
“Ohhh DRAMA” Keanna said with a squeal as they watched Samantha walk out of the kitchen with wet hair.
“I’m sure we can fix it dear” Sophia said chasing after her.
“No my coolness is ruined forever” she dramatized.
“Oh hush, it’s not that bad” Sophia scolded.
“What’s not so bad?” Twilight asked.
“MY HAIR, IT’S RAINBOW” Samantha yelled.
“OHHHH IDEA!!” Keanna yelled as everyone turned their heads towards her.
“What kind of idea” Samantha asked hopefully.
“Your nickname will be Rainbow” Keanna said triumphantly.
“Huh” Samantha asked.
“Amelia’s Twilight and now yours is Rainbow cause of your hair”
“Actually that’s not as bad as Amelia’s. I’ll take it”
“What’s wrong with my name!?” Twilight screeched.

“Come on Jaki smile for the camera” Keanna squealed as she walked up to her pink haired friend.
Her reply was an “epp” and a blush that turned Jaki’s whole face red.
“N-n-n-no thanks Keanna, I don’t want my picture taken” Jaki stuttered to her energetic friend.
“Of course you do, it’s for a school project. I need pictures of aaaaaaaaaaall my friends” Keanna said stretching her all.
“I don’t like pictures or being in them, you know this” Jaki mumbled.
“But it’s for school” Keanna pleaded.
“My answer is no”
“Please”
“No”
“I won’t hurt you”
“I just don’t like pictures or being in them. You should understand that Keanna”
"But pictures are great, they help make a moment last”
“That’s why you have memories”
“You’re no fun Jaki- wait that’s IT” Keanna cried.
“What?”
“I have your nickname”
“What is it?”
“It’s Fluttershy. Like the flutter lens of the camera and shy cause your shy about everything, especially cameras. It represents your fear of cameras. It’s PERFECT”
“Ummm if you’re sure”
“OF COURSE I’M SURE” Pinkie declared “Three down, three more to go”

“And I told ‘er that while she was darn pretty, I didn’t swing dat way” Chrissy slurred after her fifth beer that evening, I mean they had just finished midterms they needed some reward.
“Are ya sure Chris cause ya sometimes give out that vibe” Rainbow slurred as well.
“Not as much as Twi and Anna” Chrissy retorted.
“Cause no one is as gay as them. Like nobody”
“Yes dears but they refuse to admit it” Sophia said as she sat down with only her third alcoholic drink of the night.
“Cause they’re stupid and they need a push” Chrissy said as she looked over to the friends sitting in the bar stools across the room. Twilight still hadn’t finished her first drink and Keanna was sporting her sixth and still doing better than Chrissy and Rainbow. Damn her and her high tolerance.
“How drunk ya thin we can get them” Rainbow asked.
“I don’t know. It would at least take Twilight two more drinks probably; we know she has a low tolerance. And if were gonna pull anything off she needs to be hella drunk” Sophia replied.
“And Anna should only need like two more” Rainbow added.
“Come on y’all let’s get ‘er rears in gear and get them two drunk.” Chrissy said finishing her beer and waking over to the pair.
“Ya know you two should loosen up a little. Have a few more beers” Chrissy told the pair.
“And what end up like you and Rainbow, no thanks” Twilight responded “Besides, I don’t need a drunk Anna on my hands again anyway”
“Again” Sophia interjected.
“Why what happened last time” Rainbow asked.
“Uh n-n-nothing at all” Twilight stuttered and turned bright red.
“Ohhh something happened. I think we should find out what” Chrissy said.
“Nothing happened” Twilight insisted “Just drop it”
Lifting an eyebrow Chrissy turned to Keanna and asked “So what happened”
“I don’t know I can’t rember and Twily won’t tell me” Keanna replied.
“Hmmm even more suspicious” Sophia said and looked at a bright red Twilight.
“Nothing happened so I didn’t need to tell her” Twilight reasoned. “Can I get another drink, strongest one” she called to the barman.
“Nope not buying it” Chrissy and Rainbow said.
“Whatever I don’t care what you two think”
“Oh but you will when we find out what happened” Rainbow said.
“Like you ever could dumbass” Twilight mumbled as she drank about half her new drink in one swig. The plan was working.
Snickering the trio walked back to their table to watch the pair as they consumed more alcohol, mainly Chrissy. Watching as Twilight got more and more intoxicated before dragging Keanna out to the dance floor.
“Come on Anna, loosin’ up” She slurred.
"Whatever you say Twily. It’s party time” Keanna explained as she danced offbeat to the music with Twilight.
“Look at dem to idiots” Chrissy said with a laugh as she took another swig. The rest of the evening of darkness is a bit of a blur for Chrissy after that. Just random snippets, most involving laughing and a hell of a lot of beer.
“Urgh what happened” Chrissy mumbled the next morning when she woke up with a killer hangover. Looking over at her clock she cursed to herself.
“Damn it’s noon” and she rolled out of bed grumbling to herself as she grabbed her phone and walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
“Fuck hangovers man” she said as her head continued to pound. When she got out and wrapping her towel around her she looked throught the cabinet trying to find something to stop the pain. Her phone went off alerting her of a text making her head pound more.
“Fuck who’s it” she grumbled as she grabbed her phone. Looking at the screen she mumbled to herself “Damn I must have been fucking drunk last night”.
Her text read “Your nickname is officially Applejack, I think it suits you perfectly after last night” this was of course from Keanna.

“Turn around darling” Sophia said to Fluttershy. Who complied easily.
“You look perfect darling for a night on the town” she squealed.
“Really” Fluttershy asked.
“Yes as an apology for not coming out for drinks after midterm you’re coming with me and Keanna to a nice club in town. Now doesn’t that sound nice?”
“It sounds loud”
“Oh but that’s the fun. Besides you might pick up some nice guys”
“Ok I’ll come”
“Great” Sophia said just as someone knocked on the door “It’s open Keanna”
“Hey girls ready for a night on the town” Keanna cried.
“Yes” Sophia replied.
“I guess” was Fluttershy’s.
“Oh don’t be a party pooper, let’s go” Keanna cried as she dragged the two out of the apartment and to the car “Let’s get going”
When they arrived at the club they could already hear the music.
“Oh my it’s loud” Fluttershy commented.
“Just how I like it” said Keanna. The trio walked inside and took in the crowded club.
“Ohh I see Luanna on the turntable, I’m going to say hi. Don’t have too much fun without me” Keanna cried as she walked away.
“So you ready to tear up the dance floor” Sophia asked.
“Umm maybe get a drink first” Fluttershy replied. So the two walked over to the bar and ordered their drinks.
“Hey beautiful, you come her often” came a voice from behind Sophia.
“Who moi?” she asked.
“Yeah you. Who else” the stranger said coyly.
“Oh my what might your name be” she asked as she took him in. Blond wavy hair, toothpaste commercial teeth, medium build and a pretty handsome. Not bad, maybe just for a fun night though. He looked a bit generic.
“Arthur Blueblood” He replied with a blinding smile “And what might your name be m’lady”
“Sophia Diamond” she replied coyly.
“Oh my that name is so beautiful, you should be considered a rarity” he replied amorously.
“What” she practically guffawed.
She watched as he heated up at his cheesy pick up line “Oh um your name is as beautiful as a um summer night?” he tried.
Laughing she said “Sorry Arthur but that won’t cut” she said, turning around to face Fluttershy and continue their conversation. Out of the corner of her eye she watched him walk away dejected, not noticing Keanna slide up nect to her.
“So Rarity” she asked causing Sophia to jump.
“Oh Keanna you herd that terrible pick-up line”
“Of course and it gave me an idea”
“It did?” Sophia asked worriedly.
“Yep, I’ve decided that your nickname will be Rarity”
Sputtering Sophia responded “My nickname is a cheesy pick-up line”
“Yep, I think it works”
Sophia just spent the rest of the night starting at her drink mumbling “Rarity, why rarity”

“So Keanna this was your entire idea and you have yet to have a nickname yourself” Rarity commented as the six sat in a random café.
“Because no one’s given me one silly” she said as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
“What? We were supposed to give you one?” Rainbow asked.
“Yeppers” Keanna replied.
“Okay then” Twilight said “I have a nickname for you”
“Really what Twily” Keanna squealed. All five heads turned towards Twilight as she looked over her book and sighed.
“Your nickname can be Pinkie” she said.
“Why” Keanna asked.
“It was the nickname I gave you the day I met you. I never called you it out loud. It was one of those silent names you have for people” Twilight shrugged.
“Really?”
“Really”
“So now we all have nicknames” Rarity said “And this silly game is over”
“Yep but you’re stuck with these names FOREVER” Pinkie exclaimed.
“What” four people exclaimed or in one’s case whispered.
“Geez, you guys thought that after this was over those names would be forgotten. We’re now stuck with them forever. Congratulations, you now know what I have lived with for fourteen years” Twilight said.
“So I’m stuck as Rarity….. FOREVER” Rarity screeched.
“Yep” Twilight said nonchalantly as she took a sip of her coffee “Welcome to friendship with Pinkie.”
