Hopelessness, that’s all that Scootaloo could feel. No matter how hard she tried she just couldn’t get her small little wings to get her off the ground. “She has been trying all day yet she just can’t do it” murmured sweetie belle to rarity. “Hmmm maybe twilight has a spell or something that can help her” rarity murmured to herself while stroking her soft white chin. “She already tried that and no matter what twilight did, it didn't work!” Sweetie whispered yelled to her older sister. Somehow Scootaloo overheard their conversation. “What? Have you found a way to help me fly rarity?” Scootaloo said while galloping over to the unicorns. “No sorry but I think that you need to see someone apart from twilight if you are having trouble flying.” Rarity softly said to the jumping orange Pegasus. “Oh! Do you think Zecora can whip something up for me?” Scootaloo said while ceasing her jumping spree. “Hmm maybe lets go see!” rarity said while putting her soft pillow away into her side saddle bag. And with that the two unicorns and the Pegasus trotted off to the mysterious Everfree forest to talk to the even more mysterious zebra.
“Hmm I do not know how to help you young one, because I cannot see anything wrong with you except your large tongue!” Zecora said while chuckling to herself, “Argh that isn't the problem I need to know why I cannot fly not why I have a large tongue!” Scootaloo said pacing around Zecora’s large pot. “Calm down young one! For while I don’t know what is wrong with you, I think I know someone who does who won’t use a brew!” Zecora said while fishing something off a book shelf. “Oh great are you going to give me a book to read? Because twilight tried that already and it didn't work. I am pretty sure I have read about every book there is about flying in Equestria.” Scootaloo said sitting down in a heap and sighing heavily. “No not at all my child! This is a card for someone who’s has a different style, but is just as effective and is more of a detective” Zecora said while dropping a card in front of the Pegasus. It was a card for doctor nick, with the comment in huge text “WE SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS OR IT IS HALF PRICE!” with a picture of a stallion winking. “Huh I guess I should have tried seeing a doctor but it never came to mind, thanks Zecora!” Scootaloo said with new found hope while picking up the card and dashing out the door. “Hey! Wait up for us!” sweetie belle said cheerfully dashing out the door chasing the orange Pegasus. “Thank you so much Zecora I don’t think I have seen Scootaloo this happy for months” rarity said while slowly closing the door.
“Umm hello anyone there? Scootaloo asked while continuously tapping the little bell on the desk were a white furred and pinkish maned perky nurse with a bright white and black name tag on her little shirt with the name N. Red-heart on it where she Scootaloo stared at her for a few moments to long, until the nurse finally asked “hello Hun! Is there something I can help you with or can you move along because this is a hospital an”- with Scootaloo zoning back in and responding (while cutting of the nurse) “oh so sorry! I-uh have an appointment with doctor nick, it should be under Scootaloo” The purple maned pony mumbled with somehow the nurse hearing and understanding, then with a small chuckle replied. “Sure thing let me just check his list, hmm I can’t see a- oh! There it is aah yes he will see you very shortly” the nurse said while turning her head to the seats on the other side of the room. “Take a seat and he will call your name shortly” the nurse said then turning back to her schedule book. “Oh-ah thank you” Scootaloo said while turning around to sit in the area the nurse pointed to. After a few minutes a grey furred and yellow haired mare sat down next to her and greeting Scootaloo with a smile which could light up all of Manhattan. “Hi there kiddo! Why are you here?” the mare asked Scootaloo with a bubbly voice to match her smile, “oh I am just going to see if I can find out why I am having trouble to fly” Scootaloo said while trying to make eye contact with the grey mare but she couldn’t tell which way she was looking because her right eye was looking at her with deep interest the left eye floated around lazily like a Pegasus on a cloud on a warm spring afternoon with nothing to do. “Oh I see you have found my lazy eye” the yellow haired mare said with a tone which was a cold as ice. “I’m so sorry it’s just”– “Miss Scootaloo” the doctor yellow furred said interrupting the embarrassed filly. “Sorry that is me” Scootaloo said while slowly sliding from her seat then almost galloping to the doctor’s door.
“Please take a seat on the bed Miss Scootaloo” the doctor said while guiding her into the pleasant but somewhat ominous room. “Th-thank you” Scootaloo said while sitting on the white covered bed. “So you have come to find out why you cannot fly correct?” the doctor said while reading some files, “Yes I am!” Scootaloo said in a burst the recoiling and controlling her nervous excitement. “I have been reading and trying all the tricks the professionals say should get you off the ground and flying instantly but none of them are working.” Scootaloo said in a much more controlled tone. “Hmm I can see that in the file your guardian gave me,” the doctor said and then reading on he finally said “it also said that you tried using steroids to improve your muscle strength in your wings? Is this true?” the doctor said looking at Scootaloo with an eyebrow raised. “Ah yes I have but it didn't work” Scootaloo said while trying to break eye contact with the doctor, “hmm that should have given you flying skills that surpass some of the most gifted fliers, ah I think I know what is going on but I hope it isn't the case so can you please stand and extend your wings” the doctor said putting the files down and putting on a pair of glasses, and as the doctor did this Scootaloo stood up on the bed with all four legs and extended her wings easily. “Now this may feel funny for a little while but I assure you I know what I am doing” the doctor said while going behind Scootaloo, then suddenly she felt her wings being manipulated into ways that instantly made the young Pegasus recoil in pain. “Sorry I just didn't think it would hurt so I was very surprised.” Scootaloo said while getting back in the position she was in before and again the doctor folded and bent her wings in ways that sent waves of pain into them then after a few minutes the doctor stopped touching the wings and said “O.k. Can you please flap your wings at a slow pace” and Scootaloo did as he said, after a while the doctor said “now can you flap them as fast as you can please” and with that been said Scootaloo flapped her wings as fast as she could. After a while she looked back to see the doctor holding a steaming bowl of soup, “Hey! What are you doing! Are you helping me or just cooling your bucking lunch!” Scootaloo yelled at the doctor stopping her wings, and making the doctor recoil. “Oh sorry I was studying your wings but then I remembered I missed my breakfast so I needed to eat a late lunch but it was too hot so I used your wings to cool it. But! I know what is wrong with your wings but it isn't the best of news.” The doctor said starting off gleefully and then becoming very grim. “Please sit down and would you like to hear the news or tell you with your guardian present” the doctor said while writing a fair bit down. “I would like to know now and also what is the treatment for it and I will try anything there is! Whether it is risky or not! I need to be able to fly as soon as possible!” Scootaloo said while jumping around the room. “OK! OK! Calm down but I am afraid to say it will be a while before you can get this treatment which is very safe it just needs you to be fully grown, Because you have Camurati–Engelmare disease or Angel-mare disorder.” The doctor said leaving Scootaloo shocked. She knew if it had a fancy term for it, it is very serious, she just didn't know what it was. “What does it mean doctor?” She said and realized how cliche she sounded. “Angel-mare disorder is when you try to move a muscle or bone in a way but the neuron bridges between each part of your brain so for your case your central nervous system and that part that controls the wing is disrupted and it means you cannot perform the simple task such as flying. This is why you cannot have a treatment for it until you are fully grown or else it could leave you in a state which would be irreversible and worse than before and the only treatment is that and is a risky form of surgery.” The doctor said and letting Scootaloo absorb all this information the doctor had told her. “So I cannot fly until I am fully grown up?” Scootaloo said as tears began to swell in her eyes. “well if you were able to train your body and brain to fix or build around the problem then there is that put apart from that no there is nothing else you can do.” The doctor said, “I am so sorry it a rare disorder which not easy to find but it does mean that you can help us understand it more to help fillies and young colts who suffer from it find a way to cure it” the doctor said trying to cheer Scootaloo up. But instead Scootaloo was locked in her head where the words went in one ear and out the other. “I am never going to be able to fly. I am never going to be able to be as awesome as Rainbow dash, I am living trash. I should just die now.” Then she came to the conclusion it was time to end this show called life. “Thank you doctor I will have to think about this” Scootaloo said and in an attempt to cheer herself up she pulled out a card from her saddle bag and said “I believe that this appointment is half price because while we found what was wrong with me we couldn’t solve it” Scootaloo said cheekily. And with the doctor chuckling he simply said “you know what? It is on the house because of that statement and helping me with my lunch!” he said as Scootaloo left the room with streams running down her cheeks as she galloped past the yellow maned mare and the nurse without even stopping to say thank you
A few minutes later Scootaloo was on top of ponyville damn with people on the sides begging her not to jump and the security jumping the fence trying to stop her, but as they reached her she jumped of the side of the damn with her last words saying “tell rainbow dash I loved her like a mother”. Then closing her eyes as something soared past her.
