Alright this is my first story I have ever wrote, so give me a break if theres any grammar mistakes or anything, just leave a comment if there is any.
Also, whenever i’m thinking to myself, it will look like this. So anything bold is me thinking to myself.

The Chaotic Chronicles
Darkness. That’s all I could see when I awoke. I lazily stretch out my arms and look around at my surroundings, but when I looked around though, there was nothing but total darkness. Where am I? I thought. Like as if on cue, a being suddenly popped into existence, but when I tried to get a good look at it, I couldn’t because it was wearing something black, so it was hard to see behind it. I open my mouth to talk, but noticed that no words came out when I tried to talk. “Don’t try and talk young one, only beings like I can talk in this realm of existence, but with my permission, you can”. I wait a couple of seconds and start feeling a tingling sensation in my throat, then I let out a cough to clear my throat.
“Are you god?” I said carefully. “Yes and no, yes I am a god, but no, I am not THE God of everything if thats what your referring to.” Said the being.
“Then who are you?” I calmly said. “I am but one being, Death.” Death? But how could he be here if… Crap, I died didn’t I?
“Yes, don’t you remember how you died?” Death said. Wait, he can read my thoughts? “Yes…” Death said a little annoyed. “Well, this is embarrassing, but how did I die? I can’t remember much of what happened” I said slowly.
Death then sighed and turned around slowly and lifted his hand up. A few seconds later, his hand started glowing, and a couch and t.v appeared in front of him. “Sit down and watch, i’m not in the mood to tell you myself”. Death walked around the couch and sat down himself, looking like he was bored out of his mind. I then walked around the couch and sat down as well. Death then makes a remote appear in his hands and clicks a button. The t.v then flashed and I started to remember everything.
I wake up early in the morning, and looked over at my clock, which was going off loudly. I slam my fist into the clock and it stops. Finally, that always gets on my nerves in the morning. I lazily get out of bed and walk towards my closet. What to wear, what to wear. I look around at my shirts hanging in the closet trying to find something good to wear. I then see one that looks like a good one, I decide to wear it, then I pick out pants to match, and I put them on.
After getting dressed, I walk downstairs, once I walk into the kitchen, I hear a familiar voice. “Luke, come get your breakfast”. I look around the corner and see my mother, who was wearing a light blue shirt with khakis pants on. She looks at my shirt and puts on a deadpan look. “Luke honestly, I will never figure out why you like that show” my mother said and walked away. I look at my shirt and check to see what she was talking about, I was wearing a light blue shirt as well, with the word BRONY on the front, with a picture of a outline of Rainbow Dash on the front.
I then look back up to see my breakfast waiting for me, Bacon, Biscuits, and Orange Juice. I pick them up and take them to the table and start eating them. Once I finished I picked up my plate and placed it over by the sink, which I would wash later. I then head over to the bathroom and start getting ready for school. After a couple of minutes I head back to the kitchen and pick up my backpack and put it on. I was ready for school, and all that was left was to tell my mom i’m leaving. “Mom i’m leaving, see you this afternoon”. I wait a couple of seconds to hear my mother yelling from upstairs saying “Have a great day!”. I walk outside after hearing that and start heading to school.
Once I turn the block I hear a scream from what sounded like a woman. I start running towards the noise and it lead me to a yellow house that had a very overgrown lawn. I walk around the house and see a woman held up against the wall by a very tall man, at least 6 foot 5. The man was holding her in a grip that looked like he was choking her, and he kept yelling at her “Give me all your money lady!”. I look up at the man and stupidly say “Leave the woman alone!”. The man looks over to me and I instantly regret it, cause when he turned to look at me, I saw a M1911 in his right hand. As soon as he realized I saw the pistol, he looks over at it and smiles devilishly. The man then drops the lady and slowly starts walking towards me.
I start walking backwards, quickly picking up speed every second, but fate had another idea. I walk back one more step and trip over a metal object, I land on my face, and felt a ton of pain rushing through my nose. Darn it, I just broke my nose for sure. I roll over and start feeling my nose, which felt deformed and broken with blood dripping down it slowly. The man then laughs and takes a step closer, which made me flinch and fall over. “Hah, you’re going to be worth a lot once I hold you up for hostage”. I then stand up and pick up the nearest object I could find to throw at the man so that I could escape, I look over at both my sides, and see that there was a bucket full of what looked like ice cold water in it. I pick it up and splash the man with the water, then threw the bucket in his face and start to run away.
I run for what felt like hours and slowly stop my pace. I turn around and look to see if he was following me, and find nothing besides the empty sidewalk and street. I turn back around, my head still looking back, and when I started walking, I bump into something and I fall to the ground. I look up to see what I bumped into, and I instantly knew this was going to end bad. The same man who was robbing the lady a while ago was looking at me in the eyes, with what looked like rage. He looks over at me and slowly brings out the M1911 and aims it at me, smiling devilishly. “Kid, you really shouldn’t have done that, plus your a witness of me robbing somebody, so I’m afraid you can’t leave”. He then pulls the trigger and everything goes black, and I lose consciousness.
I then stop remembering everything, and notice that i’m back on the couch in the dark void I was in before. I instantly start crying over my death, realizing that my parents and nobody else knew about my death. “It’s ok young one, everybody makes mistakes in their lifetime, and thats why I came up to a solution that will do us both good”. I look up at Death with my eyes glittering of hope and ask him “What?”. Death then smiles and says back “I’m going to bring you back to life, but this time, you will be…” Death ends suddenly. I look up at him for a second, with worry in my eyes. “What, I will be what?”. Death laughs and looks at me in the eyes and says “I’m not going to spoil anything for you, so you can find out yourself”. Death then waves his hand and looks past me. I turn around and see a giant whirlpool in the middle of the void, but it was glowing all the colors of the rainbow. “Go on,” Death says “I’m not going to stay here forever you know”.
I look into the whirlpool and think to myself, Eh, what do I got to lose? I jump into the whirlpool and get sucked up in the current, quickly going down into the center. As soon as I fall into the center, I start to lose consciousness again. I have a feeling this is going to happen a lot. I feel my body slowly falling from what felt like a big fall and touched the ground, light enough to not hurt me. I then completely black out from the fall and from the lack of sleep.
So that’s the intro to the Chaotic Chronicles, and i’m looking forward to writing some more chapters. What do you think, is it a pretty good start to a story? Leave a comment!
Chapter 1: New World, New Adventures
Well guys, i’m just going to go ahead and tell you that it will be a long time till i complete this entire story (not chapter), so please be patient on the releases of other chapters, alright? I got school and everything, so its hard to find the time to squeeze writing into all of it. Luckily I have seminar every other day, so that will be the best time for me if I got no work.
But anyways, lets get back to the story…
8 hours after losing consciousness…
It was morning in Equestria, and Celestia’s sun was slowly making its way up over the mountain tops overlooking a small valley. The sky was a dark blue, with little amount of clouds in the sky, and the grass was as green as it can be, with little small drops of dew on it from the past night. This day would be one that will be remembered throughout history, though. On the top of one small hill near the bottom of one of the mountain’s, Luke was curled up into a ball resting underneath, sleeping and slowly regaining consciousness every moment he stayed there.
After a couple of minutes, the sun finally rose over the top of the mountains slowly, giving off beautiful rays of sunlight over the small valley. Sunlight then shone over the area where Luke was still curled up in a ball, looking like he was enjoying his sleep. The sunlight then slowly went over his face, stirring him as if saying “Wake up, it’s time to wake up!”. Luke then slowly starts to wake up, and after a couple of seconds, sits upright, rubbing his eyes slowly with what he thought were his hands. Wait, why are my hands hard as a rock? I look down at my hands, realizing that they were not hands, but hooves. Ah! What the heck is going on?! I then try to stand up, but fall back down instantly. Alright, something is definitely wrong. I then look around at my body, seeing that I was in a different body. I had a purple coat with a star on my butt. After looking right there though, I instantly make out that I have four legs. Alright, apparently i’m dreaming, or I have four legs. I look further back behind my hind legs and see a indigo tail with a purple and pink stripe going through it. Ok, from what i’m seeing, I've turned into a horse… It only took him a couple of seconds for his brain to process where he was. Holy crap… Am I in Equestria? If I am, what am I doing here? Luke then remembers about himself dying and where he meets Death, who sends him into a whirlpool with the colors of the rainbow in it.
Oh yeah… So that's what happened, Death sent me here for some reason, but what was it? I then looks around at my surroundings. I spot out that i’m on the top of a hill, with a small tree with apples in its leaves. I then hear my stomach start to growl from looking at food. Alright, shut up stomach, i’ll get something for you. I then tries to stand up again, I finally get up on my front legs, than hind legs, and next thing I know, i’m standing up. Good, now I just need to learn how to walk again… I step forward once, and I start getting the hang of it. Alright, I got this. I start walking towards the tree where my food waited. Once I got to the tree, however, I run into a problem. I was way down here at the base of the tree, and the apples were way up there. How am I supposed to get them? I start looking at the apples, concentrating even, as if that was supposed to anything. But once I started concentrating on one of them, it then was surrounded with a purple aura.
Whoa, how did that happen? I sit down and put a hoof to my head, feeling some weird tingling on my head. Once I touch the tingling part, I felt a hard pointy object where it was coming from. Alright, I have a horn. So apparently I’m some sort of unicorn? I try concentrating again on the apple and try pulling it downwards. It finally breaks of the stem and falls down to the ground with a soft thud. Yes! Now to get a few more to satisfy my appetite. I repeat this a couple more times until I had the desired amount.
After eating them, I look at my body again, just because I wasn’t used to it yet, and that I felt something on my side. It looked like there was wings on my side, but how could that be? I already had a horn, but wings as well? That could only mean one thing… I’m an alicorn… But how? I stand back up wiping off my mouth with my front leg, and take another glance around at my surroundings. This time I spot out instantly a castle in the distance, but it was on top of one of the mountains. That must be Canterlot, so that means Ponyville should be nearby… I start to walk away from the apple tree and went in a random direction. After a while, I walk up another hill and instantly saw what I was looking for.
Where I was looking was the small town of Ponyville, where every brony would dream of going to. Well, might as well head down there, I would have had to some time or another. I start walking down the hill, but trip over a small rock in the side of the hill and start rolling down to the bottom, hitting other small rocks on the way down. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, OW! I finally stop rolling and stand up, making out that I was at the road heading towards a small bridge leading to Ponyville. Alright, lets go.
I start walking down the road, noticing other ponies walking down the opposite side of the road, and once they saw me, they turned and waved. I look at them, smiling and waving back. Must be because everybody in this town is friendly. Either that or they think i’m new here. Or both. I finally get to the bridge and walk across it, but once I get to the other side of the bridge a pink blur flashes in front of me. It makes me flinch hard and I stumble backwards. I look up to see who it is, but kinda already guessed who it was based on the speed and color. It was Pinkie Pie, who had a big goofy smile on her face. She looks at me and gasps, jumping in the air and ran away. Wow, that was… Interesting.
I hear a giggle and look to see who did it. I turn and see one of the mane six, Twilight Sparkle. She had the same color coat I did, same goes for the mane and tail as well. Weird, but alright. She had a horn and a set of wings as well, which told me she was a Alicorn as well. “Not used to Pinkie Pie, are you?” Twilight says. “Not really, never seen anything like her in my life.” I say, while trying to stand back up, but I had a little trouble getting up. Twilight notices and holds out a hoof to help me up. “Thanks”. “No problem, by the way my names Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight then looks at me different and asks “Hey are you new here? I never seen you here before.”. “Yeah, I just got here.” I say with raw honesty. Hopefully she doesn’t ask wh…
“Where did you come from?” Twilight questions further. I quickly think for a moment, trying to think of a place to cover where I came from. “I just got off the train from Manehatten, and the trip took a while, so I took a nap on the way here.” I answer.
“Alright, want me to show you around town? Looks like you would need to know where everything is so that you don’t get lost!” Twilight says, laughing at the last part.
“Sure, I think that would be a great idea.” I respond back. Twilight then turns and starts heading down a road, and after a couple of minutes, we start seeing a giant field of apple trees upon apple trees.
“Dang, whoever lives here sure does love apples…” I say.
“Sure do sugercube!” A thick country accent responds.
I turn around see a pony with a orange coat, blonde mane and tail, green eyes, and a brown stetson hat on top of her head, just enough to show off her country style.
“Hi there, names Applejack!” Applejack then stretches out her hoof, and I reach out mine as well. Applejack then shakes her hoof up and down quickly, which starts to make me shake. Applejack then laughs at this and asks “Who’s your friend er’ Twi?” Twilight then looks over to me and gasps “Oh my gosh! I completely forgot to ask for your name! I’m so sorry!”. “Thats alright Twilight, my names…” I start to realise I can’t use my real name from Earth, or else they will suspect something’s up. I start thinking of a name that would go along with my body colors and cutie mark. A name instantly pops into my head. Yes, that name will do perfectly. “... Dusk Shine.”
“Well howdy there Dusk Shine! It was nice seein’ ya! But I got ta’ go back to ma apple buckin’. Cya later!” Applejack then turns and walks back to a tree she was probably bucking earlier.
“Well thats one of my friends, lets go meet Rarity.” We start to turn around, but I hear a faint sound, when I went to look in the direction of where it came from, I see something heading my way. Fast.
“Look out!” Yells the voice.
My instincts instantly take over and I jump out of the way, avoiding getting something broken. I turn to see who it was, but when I looked over to where whoever it was went, I saw a giant dirt pile in front of them, and two large streaks in the ground leading towards it. Dang, they went fast, glad I moved out of the way. I look up to see a pegasus with a blue coast, rainbow mane and tail, and magenta eyes. The pony looks up at me and smiles “Hey, you're new around here aren’t you?” I nod my head “Names Rainbow Dash, and i’m the fastest flyer in Equestria!” I smile as well and decide to mess around with her.
“If you are the fastest in Equestria, how come I never heard of you?” I say.
Rainbow Dash looks up at me with a surprised face and tries to come up with a excuse, but couldn’t find any. She looks at me and sticks her tongue out at me and says “I’ll get you back for that! See you later…” She starts to fly away, but stops for a second and comes back down to me. “Sorry didn’t catch your name, what is it?” I look at her and say “Dusk Shine”. Rainbow Dash then flies off saying “See ya later Dusk!”.
I watch her fly off towards a giant city made of clouds, which looked like a pretty cool place to live in. I gotta check that place out, once I learn how to fly…
I then turn back to Twilight who apparently thinking to herself about something. “Hello? Twilight?”. Twilight then comes back from her train of thought and responds “What?”. “Where are you taking me next?”. Twilight then thinks to herself “Well you just met Rainbow Dash, so she’s off the list. We were already heading to Rarity’s, so lets go.”
We start walking away from the apple farm and head back into town. We walk for a few minutes and start to see a giant building with the words “Carousel Boutique” on the front. We walk up to the door, but Twilight walks in front of me and stops me. “Just want you to know that Rarity acts a little… dramatic around new people.” I look at Twilight and nod with understanding. We walk through the front door of the boutique, hearing a bell go off once we enter. My ears perk up, hearing a faint voice yelling “Coming!”. I wait a few seconds and a pony walks around the corner. I look at her and think to myself, Dang, she’s beautiful. The pony before mentioned had a white coat with a purple mane and tail, she also had deep blue eyes to complement her mane. She steps out in front of us and looks over at me “Hey Twilight, who’s your friend?” Rarity asks. “He’s a new pony who just arrived here from Manehatten.” Rarity perks up and looks over at me, excited. “Your from the big city? Why didn’t you say so?” Rarity then grabs me and moves me to a giant stool with 3 different mirrors.
“I’m just going to take a couple of measurements darling, so please stand still.” Rarity’s horn starts glowing and brings over a measuring tape and a notebook. She then starts taking measurements. I look forward, not moving like Rarity said and ask her “Why are you taking my measurements again?” Rarity looks up at me with a surprised look “Why, I was going to make you a new outfit of course!”. I look over at Twilight with a questionable look, she realises what I was thinking and giggles. “Don’t worry about it Dusk, she does this all the time with new people. She is the element of generosity for a reason. I really should’ve seen this coming.
After a couple of minutes of Rarity measuring me, she says “Done! I will have your new outfit ready for you soon darling!”. She starts to walk away, but I ask “Don’t I have to pay for you making me it?”. Rarity then shakes her head and says “Why heavens no! Any friend of Twilight’s is a friend of mine! Don’t worry about paying for it, think of it as a welcoming gift to Ponyville!”. She then walks off towards her room, and then I turn to Twilight “Who’s next?”. Twilight looks at me “Well we met Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash. I think we should go visit Fluttershy next.”. I nod my head with agreement and we start walking to the door. I walk in front of Twilight and open the door for her. Twilight giggles from this and walks out the door.
We start walking down the road heading towards the Everfree Forest, but before we could turn the corner, a pink blur passes in front of me and runs into Twilight. Twilight falls to the ground and sits there for a second, she looked a little shaken up from the random mishap, but wipes it off. I then see the pink blur in front of me and instantly, and I realise who it was. The pony had a pink coat with a big puffy pink mane, same went for her tail. To go along with the color, she had sky blue eyes. I then start to hear a ton of words being said at once. “Hey aren’t you the new pony from earlier? I saw you and instantly thought to myself ‘Oh my gosh! A new pony! I gotta throw him a welcoming party’ and ran away to start setting up the party, but anyways, what’s your name? I never did ask you what it was.” I look at her, amazed that she said all of though in one breathe. I shrug it off, and answer her question “My name is Dusk Shine, what was yours again?” She looks at me “My name is Pinkie Pie, want a cupcake?” I look at her and nodded my head. She reaches into her puffy mane and pulls out a cupcake. The cupcake looked like an ordinary chocolate cupcake. I concentrate on the cupcake, seriously how do I do that?. The cupcake was then surrounded with a purple aura, and it starts to fly over to me. I try to bring it to my mouth, thankfully able to bite it correctly and not mess up in front of them.
My mouth then bursts with flavor, and I enjoy every last bit of it. The chocolate cupcake had chocolate frosting on the inside, making it more delicious with every bite. How could one small dessert be so good?! I finish off the cupcake, savoring every bit I had left. “Wow Pinkie Pie, that was good!” Pinkie Pie smiles “Well glad you liked it! I knew that was your favorite kind! Anyways I gotta go, bye Luke!”. Pinkie Pie walks off, leaving me with a shocked expression on my face. How did she know that? How does she know my name?! I start getting a headache after thinking those last few thoughts. Nevermind, that’s just Pinkie being Pinkie.
Twilight looks up at me “Luke? I thought your name was Dusk Shine?” I quickly think of a excuse. “It was an old nickname that other ponies called me.” I say quickly, trying to hide the nervousness in my voice. That was close.
Twilight nods with understanding, then turns and walks forward. I start following her towards a giant forest none other the the Everfree Forest. Wow. Didn’t expect it to be so big.
We cross the bridge, which was over a small river. I look up and see a house carved out of a tree. We start walking up to the front door to the house, and once we got there, Twilight starts knocking on the door. I hear a gasp from the inside, and something being knocked over “I’ll be there in a second..”. After a couple of seconds of waiting, the door opens up, and my heart starts racing. I see a cream yellow pegasus with a pink mane and tail, with a mix of blue and green eyes. “Um, hi Twilight.” The yellow pegasus says, obviously sounding female. She looks over at me and opens the door a little. She looks at Twilight again “Who’s your friend Twilight?”. Twilight looks over at me with a look saying ‘Go on, introduce yourself’'. I turn to Fluttershy and say “My name’s Dusk Shine”. Fluttershy then nods and says her name. Twilight then asks “What was it that we heard that fell over?”. Fluttershy opens her eyes a little like she forgot about it, and runs back inside. “Oh my gosh! I forgot to clean it up! I was making tomato soup for Angel Bunny because he was sick and you knocked on the door and startled me, causing me to drop the bowl with the soup in it”. Twilight looks down a little bit, looking guilty “Sorry about that Fluttershy, I just wanted to come and show Dusk here around town since he’s new here”.
Fluttershy then looks at me, with eyes filled with what looked like wonder. “Your new here?” I nod “Well, welcome to Ponyville!”. I respond saying “Thanks Fluttershy, it was a honor visiting the element of kindness”. Fluttershy blushes at this “How did you know I was one of the elements?” Crap. “I read books about the elements of harmony a while back, and heard the news of 6 ponies beating Nightmare Moon and Discord with them. Fluttershy shapes her mouth in understanding saying “Oh, alright”. Twilight then looks around, noticing it getting dark outside. “Its night time already? Well time flies when you're having fun I guess, did you have fun Dusk?” I look at her and put on a smile “Sure did”.
Twilight turns to Fluttershy “Well Fluttershy we better get going, it’s going to be a big day tomorrow”. Fluttershy then looks down and says “Alright,” then suddenly looks up at me with a blush on her face “Will I see you again Dusk?”. I look at her and say “You will sooner or later”. Fluttershy then smiles “Alright, bye Dusk.” “Bye”. Twilight and I turn around and start walking back towards her house. Once we get there, I notice that it was just like Fluttershy’s house, but larger. Once we walk inside, there were a ton of bookshelves everywhere. Of course there is, it’s a library. Twilight and I walk upstairs and she shows me my room. “Well heres your room, goodnight Dusk”. I look at her and say “Goodnight Twilight”.
I walk in my room and instantly jump into my bed, not paying attention to anything else. I fall asleep the second I stop moving. It’s going to be a big day tomorrow, better get some sleep.
Finally finished Chapter 1 of the Chaotic Chronicles, I will start to work on Chapter 2 right away.
