A Midnight Monster

     Princess Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack are at the Golden Oak Library, having a sleepover with all the girls together this time. Spike wasn’t there because he had to get help with his friend zone relationship with Rarity, so he went to the Crystal Empire to visit Princess Cadence, ‘the love expert’, so he won’t be back for a while. It was 12:00 A.M. and there was a full moon. The mares just finished up a game of Pin the Tail on The Pony. Twilight knew this was the perfect opportunity. “Okay girls I’m going to be right back. Don’t go anywhere.” Twilight giggled with excitement. The five had confused looks on their faces. “What’s up with Twilight?” Pinkie thought something was wrong. No, Pinkie knew something was wrong. Her pinkie sense was going off. First it was a shake, and then an ear twitch, a twitchy tail, and her eyes got crossed for a second. What? That hasn’t happened before, pretty strange. “Huh? My Pinkie sense is going crazy!” it happened again. “Let’s just wait for a few minutes, and then we should check on her.” Rarity said. A few minutes of silence passed. The Pinkie sense continued. Everypony was anxious to go down stairs to check on Twilight. “Wait what? Uh oh, Girls, help!” then the ground was shaking. It felt like an earthquake, but it wasn’t. They ran down without any hesitation. “What’s going on Twilight?!” Dash screamed.

     All the girls looked around the whole floor of the library and the girls couldn’t find Twilight. Then there was the unexpected… Applejack had a worried look on her face when she stared into a book and to her amazement, there was Twilight Sparkle. “Twilight?! Can you hear us, are you okay?” Fluttershy was scared. “What happened?” Dash just stared at the book and got lost in thought. “Maybe a ghostie put her in there with magic?” Pinkie Pie suggested. Then the ground was shaking. “Girls, huddle up! I never thought I would say that.” Rarity had a bit of a shocked expression on her face. All the girls got close together then the book sucked the ponies in like a vacuum.

     “What happened?” Applejack was confused. “Are yall’ ok? Who knows what’s going on?” “We’re okay” the rest responded. “But I don’t get it. How did we get to town hall?” AJ was clueless of what was happening and wanted answers. She sounded a tiny bit mad. “Girls! I’m so glad to hear your voices and none of you are panicking like the rest of the insane donkeys around town.” The girls realized that was Twilight was talking. The girls jumped to their hooves. “TWILIGHT! What’s going on?! Why are we here and where did you disappear to?” Twi hesitated for a second. “Well Applejack, I-” Twilight was interrupted by loud screams of other ponies around town. “I will explain everything at the library. QUICK follow me!” All the mares ran faster than lightning, hearts pounding out of their chests. They were tired, but they just kept running. On the way ponies everywhere were hollering “Help! I need help! He’s after us!” The six mares wanted to help them but they might risk themselves to some kind of monster they didn’t even know of yet. They needed to find info, and then know how to defeat this beast, and then they will help as many people as they can.

     When the girls got to the library, they were out of breath. Twilight confessed, “Okay girls, you got me. I got all of you into this. I thought it was the perfect time to read you ‘Midnight Monster’ at midnight. So I went to get the book, and then it sucked me in! Then I ended up here in the story. I in my slumber party guide it said to tell a scary story. I’m really sorry girls; I didn’t expect it at all.” Twilight frowned in disbelief. “It’s not your fault Twilight!” Pinkie tried to cheer her up, she hated seeing her friends sad. “So, are we stuck in the story too?” Fluttershy questioned. “Well, until the end that is.” Twilight responded. She already read the book, so she knew what was going to happen. “This doesn’t make any sense. This doesn’t explain how we got here, and we don’t know how to get out!” Rainbow Dash commented. Twilight’s eyes widened. “I don’t know how we got here.” Twilight didn’t know that. “But I do know how to get out!” she brightened up. “Okay then, so what’s the plan?” Rainbow smiled.

         They were ready. Twilight brought a book of spells and put on glasses. Her mane is in a bun, she looks like a librarian. Rarity put on her toughest outfit. It was shades of green and brown like camouflage and she had a hat to match.    She brought bags for the girls in case they needed it. Fluttershy got first aid kits with band aids and such if somepony got hurt. Rainbow Dash got paint under her eyes and was planning to fight with her bare hooves. She had her mane in a high pony tail. Applejack brought her lasso if the target tried to get away. Pinkie Pie came in her exercise outfit that she has on when she plays with Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake. She also brought her party canon. They are going to take this guy down.

         “Don’t worry, we will take care of it ma’am, just take cover with your friend for now, we will take care of it.” Rainbow assured a minty green unicorn with a lyre cutie mark. She stood there with her friend that had a curly pink and blue mane. Her coat was like a creamy color. Her cutie mark was three candies. “Thanks Rainbow! Come on, we’ll be safer at home. I need to talk to you anyway, I have some proof that humans exist! They have something called computers and they make stories about ponies like us on a certain place on a computer. It’s so cool!” Everypony in town thinks she makes up stuff about whatever ‘humans’ are. Her friend just laughed. Rainbow turned around and joined the girls again.

         “Okay girls, it’s time to confront this guy. We can do this.” Twilight got out her book of spells. From her bag that Rarity gave to her. She levitated it with her magic and her horn aurora started up. Fluttershy got out her first aid kit and stood next to Twilight. Rarity stood next to Fluttershy. Those three were definitely not the fighting not the fighting types, at all. They hid behind a bush. They camouflaged in, but you couldn’t see a bit of Rarity, since she had that outfit on and all.

         “Dash, AJ, Pinkie, get into position. He’s coming.” A gray, coated pegasus with a blonde mane was getting chased by the enemy. The pegasus has crossed eyes and bubbles for a cutie mark, wonder what that means. “Help! Somepony, please!” Everypony backed away besides the three girls. “AJ, lasso that guy, Pinkie, attack him with your party canon. I’ll go get the mare!” Rainbow flew over to her.

          “Everything will be okay ma’am, just go home and we will handle this.” The crossed eyed civilian looked scared. “You promise my family and I will be okay?” Rainbow nodded. The mare quickly hugged Dash and said thank you, then ran before that beast could spot her.

          Rainbow turned back around and the beast was staring right at her. It was big and hairy; it had two horns and three eyes. And it had lots and lots of big, sharp, teeth. Dash quickly ran back to the others. Pinkie fired her canon a few more times and suddenly it stops. “Dashie, my party canon is out of confetti! What do I do?” Dash rushed over to her bag. And take out a lot of ammo. “Here, just fight with this. Don’t asked where I got it from or what it is, just load up your canon with that.” Pinkie had a puzzled look but she went through with it. When she shot it hit the damaged the monster greatly.

          Dash then went up to it and punched one of the eyes. He howled in response. She then started to kick and punch it as hard as she could. He didn’t seem to be taking any damage whatsoever. Actually he was getting even madder, perfect, we need to defeat a monster that’s hard enough to beat anyway, and now we just made it madder. Twi, Rarity, and Flutters were watching and they seemed worried since Dash only made things worse and the monster didn’t even seem to get hurt besides Pinkie’s bullets, but that didn’t hurt him too much, just most compared to what everypony else was doing. Twilight started to speed read certain spells in her book.

         All of a sudden the ruffian broke free from the lasso. Rainbow was now in danger since he was now capable of attacking. Applejack then ran up to the monster and started to kick and punch him. He backed up about 5 yards away and then ran back but he tried to ram his horns into Dash and step on AJ, but she just flew up and dodged it perfectly and Apple Jack just simply ran to the left. He then tried to grab her, and she tried to escape but she failed.  He had her in one of his hands. “Let me go!” she demanded. He didn’t care. “Hey! You better let go of her or else your face will meet my hoof! Now let her go!” He tried to pick Applejack up but she quickly moved. “Ha! I’d like to see you do be-” And while she started gloating, he picked her up too. They kept on squirming but they couldn’t break free. “Ugh! Come on! We can do this AJ!”

         “Oh no! The monster got them! We can’t do much we’re not fighters! What do we do?” Fluttershy questioned. “Perhaps Twilight will come up with a plan? What are your thoughts on the subject, Twilight?” Rarity really didn’t have any ideas. “Well, I have been looking through my book for some spells to help with the matter, and I found one that works. But I’m not sure I can do this, it seems really, really, really hard. Way more difficult than the spell that gave you wings, Rarity. This is about 35 times harder. But of course, I will give this my all. Here we go!...” Twilight put the book down and teleported out on the field. Her horn aurora started up. At first it was a regular small amount. She started grunting and growling then the aurora grew bigger, and bigger. “Come… On…” a few sparks flew around. The glow from the horn got gigantic. “I… Can… Do… This…” The monster started to squeeze the girls a bit. “Help us Twi! Tell Applebloom, Ah ate the pie…” The others gasped; AJ seemed to be, dying “falling asleep”. “COUSIN!” Pinkie started rapid fire as fast as she can at the monster’s hands. Rainbow was just hanging in there, but she couldn’t last for long. That was it. Twilight gave it her all. A huge rainbow came out and hurt the monster badly. He fell down and Applejack and Dash were able to escape. Applejack was happy she was breathing now. Twilight tried to teleport back to the bushes, (so the enemy wouldn’t see where she was hiding), but she was so tired she couldn’t. When she tried she just teleported a few feet to her left. Then the monster came back up, but still a little dizzy. He ran in Twilight’s direction, still a little wobbly. Then before he can snatch her up, she was teleported. “You’re welcome!” Rarity said with a smile. Rarity teleported her. The target tried to grab Rainbow again. Of course, she dodged it by simply flying upwards. Then a light bulb went off in her mind. She flew high, really high. She stopped flying and pushed down to the ground. She thought that rainbows must be his weakness because of Twilight’s spell, and because like most villains, it’s one of their weaknesses too. Then after less than a minute, a sonic rainboom formed. Dashie flew down on the monster, and he definitely fell down this time. For good. And the ground started shaking.

                                                                                        *****

“Ughhh! Why again? Are you all alright?”

“Ah’m fine.”

“Okie doki loki!”

“Wonderful darling!”

“Um, I’m okay.”

“Who cares if we’re okay? We need to know if we beat that jerk!”

Twilight stood up, the others followed. They all looked around. “We did beat him! Yay!” Fluttershy started feebly cheering. Rainbow smirked. Twilight went over to her book. She picked it up with her hooves instead of levitating it. She saw a note on the back cover she didn’t seem to notice earlier. The message read:

Dear Twilight and others,

You got TROLLED! Classic enchanted book prank!

Twilight never knew this was enchanted; maybe Spike replaced it with a magical version of the book. With that, she then threw both the book and the note in her fire pit. Spike will also be in A LOT of trouble when he gets home.
