When Thunderlane pays a visit to Lightning Dust, she ends up nearly dead, saved only by the timely arrival of her coltfriend Rainbow Blitz. After the shocking event, Rainbow questions Lightning as to what happened, while Thunderlane's partner Raindrops goes with him to finish what he started. Lightning is left terrified beyond reason. Rainbow Blitz promises to keep her safe, but Lightning Dust is certain no pony can save her now. Will Rainbow Blitz prove her wrong, or will their love come to a tragic end?
