A warm breeze filled the room from the open window. White curtains moved in the wind. Octavia closed her long lashed eyes. She laid backwards onto her bed and focused on the tranquil environment around her. How could she capture this moment in a song? This moment was so serene. “I have worked hard for four years to get into this university.” Her violet eyes were beginning to fill with tears. “I have studied very hard and have slacked off with you on those rare occasions to relieve myself of the pressures that my family and the others put on me. Day to day life was preparing me to be able to live the life I want to live. Vinyl, I am not content with living in a trailer park or even mediocre houses. I do not wish to be middle class! Lyra smiled. “It was a good start but I think that's stepping on the toes of our fellow classmates. Besides, Bon Bon will be there watching me give the speech. Vinyl took a deep breath. She had to do it. She had to visit Octavia in person! There was no response on her phone or through e-mail. She knew her Tavi needed space but she needed an answer. Her cap and gown was stuffed in a plastic bag. She thought about giving her tassel to Tavi as a present. Sighing she picked up her phone and dialed Bon Bon. “Hey. Are you still going to give me a lift to the graduation ceremony?”
