The front door made a low clicking sound as it opened upon the dark hallway. Two figures dressed in light casual clothing stood in the doorway.
“What did I tell you? Wasn’t it the best time ever?” Vinyl asked her girlfriend, Octavia.
“Even bester than last time!” Octavia replied, giving a small twirl in her short skirt.
The couple continued to the kitchen of their house. They hung all over each other, hopelessly smitten with each other and unable to physically keep their greedy hooves off each other’s bodies due to their hopeless infatuation. Once the two got into the kitchen, Vinyl took full liberty of picking Octavia’s tiny body up and placing her onto the kitchen counter in a sitting position. Vinyl, who was at least a foot taller than Octavia, could finally see face to face with Octavia and the latter the same. They smiled in delight at each other.
“Hey! I can reach your face! You don’t need to bend down!” Octavia mischievously smiled and laid a soft kiss onto Vinyl’s mouth.
Octavia straddled Vinyl’s torso and wrapped her legs around her, progressively increasing the pressure into Octavia’s back with her heels digging into her spine. Vinyl absentmindedly began playing with Octavia’s mid-length dark gray mane.
“Mmmmm…” Octavia purred with approval, closing her eyes to fully enjoy the moment. “That feels nice.”
“What else could I do for such a beautiful mare?” Vinyl grinned. “Would you like a back rub?”
“You’re so sweet.” Octavia softly argued, still keeping her eyes closed enjoying Vinyl’s gentle hooves as they moved lower down her body.
“Nope, you are” Vinyl replied laughing and shrugging innocently. “I don’t know about that. There is a certain mare who could so easily be more.” She glanced at Octavia.
“Ha! Yeah, I bet there are way too many smart, funny, beautiful, kindhearted mares in this town. There’s just not room for one more.” She punched Vinyl with her hoof playfully.
“Exactly!” Vinyl replied with a grin. “Well it’s not like you have room to complain after all. All of those stallions who are always after you because you are the sexiest most beautiful pony in this entire town. I have to repeatedly beat ponies off with a lead pipe just to spend time with you. And i’m your girlfriend!”
“Nah, it’s still you. But we can find out who is sweeter tonight if you like, Vinyl...” Octavia opened her eyes and stopped mid-sentence, cocking her head as she went into a momentary trance.
Vinyl said nothing, as if she didn’t even notice Octavia’s odd behavior.
“So are you hungry?” Octavia asked.
“Well of course.” Vinyl answered. “You want me to order something? How about some pizza?”
“Of course not silly filly. I’m going to make something.”
“You cook?” Vinyl scoffed. “You haven’t cooked in years Tavi. You can’t be serious.”
“Of course I’m serious. You just watch.”
Vinyl backed away as Octavia swiftly moved to dismount from the kitchen counter. Jumping from the counter she rushed into the kitchen and grabbed a black apron to go with her black skirt. Octavia proceeded to take out the ingredients for Vinyl’s favorite dish, as Vinyl watched from the doorway sipping on a soda. Octavia filled a pot up with water and placed it on the stove to boil. While waiting for the water to come to a boil, Octavia began working on the carrots, winking at Vinyl who had been staring at her back.
“So, you said I was sweeter. I don’t think that’s even possible. Gentle mares like yourself are obviously the sweeter side of ponydom. So, that means it’ll have to be you. Don’t you agree?”
“I still think you’re sweeter!” Octavia teased in a sing-song voice.
“You also said you knew how we could found out. I’ll want to see how we do that.” Vinyl said.
Octavia stopped cutting the carrots and turned around to look at Vinyl. She was leaning against the wall now, having ditched the soda for some green tea. Octavia walked slowly, sensually, over to Vinyl, still with the large chopping knife in her hand.
“You want to know how we find out?” Octavia knelt down in front of Vinyl, her voice was low. “Is that what you want?”
Octavia tugged at her girlfriend’s tail with one hoof as she brought the carrot-flavored knife to her lips with the other and bit the blade with her front teeth. She looked up seductively at her tall and gentle best friend.
“Um, what are you doing Tavi?” Vinyl frowned, looking nervously at the knife

Octavia allowed Vinyl to think about things for a moment… and then she made her move. She jumped up from her kneeling position and lunged towards Vinyl’s chest, knocking her down. Vinyl didn’t seem to fight her, assuming this was all part of the procedure. Octavia straddled Vinyl’s body and looked into her eyes with a smile.
“Ready?” Octavia asked.
Vinyl nodded slowly. “I...I guess so. Go ahead.”
With those words Octavia bent down and gently kissed Vinyl before there could be anymore talk about it. There was a longing, a sadness in Octavia that she kept from Vinyl when she needed her to be strong. Octavia knew exactly how she felt. The loneliness, the fear of no one remembering you when you were gone. That was one of the reasons Vinyl trusted Octavia so much, because she knew the latter truly understood what she felt.
As all these things flashed in Octavia’s mind, her hooves started to work of their own free will. Caressing up and down Vinyl’s back, feeling her skin in whatever places her clothing happened not be covering. Vinyl let a soft sound of pleasure escape her as she gently parted Octavia lips and let her tongue flow softly into her mouth. There was a bond, an intensity that neither one of them had ever felt before when kissing another person. It was like their two bodies had begun to merge into one as the kiss grew more emotional along with the passion between them.
Then, with a quick swift slice, Octavia slit Vinyl’s throat with her razor sharp knife in a neat fashion. Vinyl shockingly struggled a bit, but Octavia assured her she would be okay as she began kissing her friend with the same soft kiss she had given before. The kitchen began to fill with the organic smell of blood and a tinge of iron. Vinyl’s neck messily sputtered blood to the rapid rhythm of Vinyl’s pulse; the type of tachycardia that comes with the shock of hemorrhage. The white walls of the kitchen, the white linoleum of the kitchen floor, even the pale grey ceiling, all becoming stained with the splattered strawberry jam colored blood from Vinyl’s jugular. Eventually, Vinyl’s breathing finally began to slow and come to a stop. Octavia released her mouth from Vinyl’s and she licked the blood-drenched knife in ecstasy.
“You are sweet, my little lollipop” Octavia smiled at Vinyl’s dead body. “Now we both know that.”
