Hi! My name's Icewing! I live in Ponyville and it's almost my 10th birthday, I'm sure Swift has a real nice surprise for me when my birthday arrives! Hehe, but I really shoundn't start with this should I? I should go back to the beginning, yeah, that'll make sense! For starters, I really wasn't with Swift to begin with. I was under the care of Nurse Redheart at the Ponyville Hospital, they were the ones who found me first. They told me I was found alone out in the dark of the forest, alone and cold...I know that doesn't sound so good but I'm really glad they found me! Espically Redheart, she was really nice to me and everything! She got me way better in no time and I've been with her since then. Though when I met Swift..I'll tell you now! It was a nice sunny day and I was walking around Ponyville, I'm allowed to go out when she's busy so I don't get lonely or bored while all the nurses gallop around working. She also gives me bits to spend on a treat to get for myself! I always go to the Sugar Cube Corner. If you didn't know, Pinkie Pie is the one who works there! She's always so funny and cheers everypony up when there down or upset. She makes the best sweets and treats ever! "Hi Icewing! It's good seeing you here again, you come here for the usual?" She'd smile happily and giggle. "Yup!" I replied, smiling back just the same. "Wait right here, I'll be back with it as soon as I can!" She hoped into the kitchen behind the counter as I waited patiently. That's when I saw him come into the Sweet Shop, Swift! Though at the time I really didn't know him that well. He walked up to the counter and looked down at me with a calm smile. "Aw, did you beat me to first served today kid?" He had chuckled. "A-huh, sorry!" I giggled "I've never seen you before?" "Likewise to you. My names Swift Wind, and you are?" "I'm Icewing! It's nice to meet you!" He smiled and had playfully ruffled my mane "You too!" At that time, Pinkie had come back into the room behind the counter and passed me my favorite, muffins! "Here you go, enjoooy!" I turned and left the SCC with the bag of muffins held in my mouth with a cheerful look, giving Swift a wave goodbye before I did "I wonder if I'll meet him again..?" I thought to myself. I headed over to the park and lied down on one of the benches, happily eating away at the muffins in the bag. They always filled me up, they were the best! Espically when Pinkie had made them! And that's when I met...ugh...Diamond Tiara. She's so mean to me, and I can't believe I fell for..well you'll see. She walked up to me and raised an eyebrow at me, as if I did something wrong "Um, hello? I think I was sitting there Hospital Girl" She smugly said, huffing a bit. Though, I didn't really hear her because I was too busy eating..hehe, I get carried away eating muffins. "Hey! Listen to me!" She raised her voice "Hm?" I muffled, poking my head up and look at her, my mouth full with a muffin or two, crumbs covering my mouth. "Ugh..you look stupid" She rolled her eyes "I told you to move." That's when her friend, Silver Spoon, walked up beside Diamond "Yeah! Are you deaf or something?" "Sorry..I didn't see that you were here. But there's plenty of room on the bench y'know?" "I don't share seats with anypony but Silver" I sighed in irritation, she was really getting on my nerves so I just went back to eating my muffins and hoped she'd clear off or something. She growled lowly but.. "Diamond..!" Silver said to her "Come here a second..." Diamond finally walked away with her friend for a moment. I giggled to myself and kept eating away, but to my disliking she came back. "Hey, what's your name? I.." she gritted the next bit "am sorry about how I acted. I only wanted to share something with you!" She and her friend smiled innocently at me. I looked back at them and raised an eyebrow, "She's sure persistent..sheez.." I then spoke up. "What is it you want to share?" I tilted my head. I really shouldn't of become so interested. "Well, I think you'll like it! We heard a really cool rumor that you might like to go find!" I could tell she was smirking a little, but I payed no attention. She went on, "In Froggybottom bog, there's a treasure chest there! You could become really rich if you find it!" She smirked wider. "Really?!" Silver and Diamond nodding in unison, then went back to smiling innocently "Cool!" I said, filled with joy. "An adventure and treasure, what could be more fun!" I thought to myself..though I know now that's not really the case. I immediately sprinted off towards the Everfree, though I skidded to a halt and went back for my bag of muffins, then galloped off to the Bog. Later that evening, I barely noticed time fly by as I galloped around the bog searching fruitless for something that didn't even exist. My hooves were all muddy and my mane was a little in a mess from going through bushes too. I sighed and sat down on the ground, rubbing the back of my head. "Darn..nothing..I can't believe I fell for that. Maybe I should j-.." My thoughts were cut off when the nearby mud lake started shaking and crashing around. The area was quickly covered in steam and smoke, I started coughing and got up. "W-What's going on..?!" I thought aloud. Suddenly a felt a huge huff blow against my back and a loud snort. I froze in fright and slowly looked back to see...a huge hydra head..! I yelled out in fright and ran out of the way just before it chomped down on the ground. I immediately started running into the forest in a random direction, panicking and my eyes wide in fright. I yelled out over and over for somepony to help me as the giant lumbering beast chased behind me. It was slow, but with how big of steps it was taking and me only being small, I'm pretty sure it was going to catch up soon! One of it's heads was about to get me for good but something swooped by and picked me up! It was! "Hey Icewing, just flying by I suppose..!" Swift had snickered, smirking and flying back to town "What in the blazes were you doing in that swamp?" He asked me. "...Treasure...?" I squeed. He looked at me a little unamused, I know, but I was so glad he saved me! He rolled his eyes "That's no excuse Ice, I'm lucky I heard you while I was doing wheather duty, or you'd be Hydra food by now. Now really, why were you in there?" "It's Diamond Tiara's fault..she told me there was treasure in there.." I sighed. "Ah...Well, where do you live? It's getting pretty late." "The hospital. Can you tell them I was with you so I don't get in trouble?" He winked at me, "I'll see what I can do, so your mother or father works there?" "Actually..they just look after me, they always have, they found me alone in the forest when I was younger so..I don't really have parents." He looked away and felt guilty for a moment, as if he regretted asking me that question "Ooh...well...never mind, I won't go on..." Well that was that, I met Swift for the first time and he was really nice, plus he saved me! Oh wait, I already mentioned that, woopsie! Well, in any case, I'll tell you what happened at the Hospital another time! //-------------------------------------------------------// Family can be found anywhere! //-------------------------------------------------------// Family can be found anywhere! Hi again! You're still here right? Goodie! Well, I promised I'd be back to tell you more, now where was I...Oh yeah, Swift taking me home! We got back to the Hospital really really late...I could tell Redheart was mad when we walked through the doors. She was tapping her front hoof on the floor and was not looking pleased..at all. I'm so glad Swift was there at the time. "Where were you young mare?" All I did was nervously chuckle "Well..I..." Before I could go on Swift stepped forward and smiled. "She was with me Redheart. We were just getting to know each other." "Oh? Then why is she covered in mud?" Redheart raised her eyebrow, looking towards Swift "She tripped up at one point while I was helping her with something and fell into a mud pool" "Y-Yeah! That's it!" I squeed innocently. I'm not sure if my "support" helped or not, but she was convinced. "Fair enough..Well lets go get you cleaned up then Icewing. And thank you for keeping her well, Swift Wind, isn't it?" He chuckled nervously and nodded "I'm glad you remember still when I crashed that one time and was sent straight here..hehe..oh um, can I ask you something Redheart? Privately?" "I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. Icewing, go wait for me in my office. We'll head back home after, okay?" "Okay!" I cheerfully headed off to my room, I didn't know what they were gonna discuss but I'm sure it was none of my business. "She's not really your kid is she?" "No, she isn't...sadly, and it's just as hard trying to look after her when I'm always so busy working. The only time I can really look after her is when we get days off." "Ah...how did you find her? Was she abandoned by her parents or something?" "I don't really know, I found her alone in the forest while I was wondering through there, just for a little walk. I heard crying along the way and I found her in the bushes, she was just sitting there shivering and covering her eyes with her hooves. I could not just leave her there, so I took her into my care. She's been happy ever since..but I don't know if I can keep it up." "Well..I could help out? Maybe I can take her out of your care into mine, she's already warmed up to me as it is" "You'd really do that?" "Ya-huh! I'd loved too!" "...Alright, I'll trust you. But know if I found out you-.." "Hey, there's no need to give me an overprotective speech. I'll take good care of her, I swear it." "Fine. Come with me then, I'm sure she'll love the news." I waited patiently inside of Redhearts office, humming lightly to myself and looking around the room every now and then. They soon came into the room and I smiled seeing both Redheart and Swift. I wondered what he was still doing here. "Icewing?" She smiled sweetly at me, walking over and sitting down in front of me. "Yes Redheart?" I tilted my head a little. "Swift has agreed to look after you from now..and I'm letting you go live with him. Is that okay with you?" I gasped a little, smiling a little brighter "I get to live with him..?!" Redheart nodded "You'll be good for him won't you?" "I'll be the best ever! I swear!" I giggled lightly, making Swift smile over at me. "Well we better get back soon, or it'll be the next day!" He snickered. I walked over to him and fluttered onto he's back. He shuddered a little and I forget my hooves were still really muddy. "Oops..sorry Swift.." I giggled again. "It's fine" He chuckled himself. "I'll bring around her things tomorrow when I get the time to. Have a good night you to." Redheart smiled. "Bye Redheart!" I waved as we left the room and out of the Hospital, Swift trotting off back to his home and me lying down on his back. "This is gonna be so fun..! I've never been with anypony else before, let alone going to be staying with them!" He chuckled again "I'm sure you're going to love it Ice" Swift took flight above the houses and quickly got to the two of us back to his house, landing near the door and opening it, walking in. As soon as we did, all we heard was -really- loud music. So loud we could barely hear each other. Swift huffed and mouthed "Wait here" to me as he stormed upstairs. I would've went into the living room or something, but I was afraid of making mud tracks all over. The music stopped and upstairs I heard- "Will you quit making the loudest spam ever, redhead?!" "Ow!! No need to hit me jerk, I can't help I like my wubs so much..!" I giggled a little and decided going upstairs to the room they were in, peeking my head past the door "Ugh, you're unbelievable..could you at least come downstairs and make a good impression?" "To who? You finally found a marefriend or somethin'?" I walked into the room, and gave him a big "Hi! I'm Icewing!" He looked at me blankly for a few seconds before turning back to Swift. He's a Red furred pegasus by the way, he's cutie mark were headphones and he had a red mane and tail, both with blue streaks going through it. "...You're going out with a filly? Dude that's nasty." Swift smacked him in the back of the head again "No..! I'm looking after her. Where did you get such an idea, Beat?" He shrugged then looked back at me again, smiling politely "Beat Thunderwing, nice to meet you Icewing." "Nice to meet you too Beat!" "Heh, we'd better get you washed up Icewing. Come with me." Swift walked past me to the bathroom and I followed, and after a long bath he showed me to my room and the moment I got comfortable in my bed, I think I fell asleep straight away. Hehe, so that's the day Swift took me under my care! I think next time I'll tell you a few days on from that one. Maybe a few weeks. Oh! Maybe when he decided to send me to school..as much as I hate though. Oh well, I'll decide! //-------------------------------------------------------// School..I guess it's okay? //-------------------------------------------------------// School..I guess it's okay? Heya! Thought you'd be back around, where was I last..? Oh right, school...it wasn't fun, but at least had a few enjoyable parts! So it was a few weeks after Swift had taken me in (And it was the most awesome few weeks ever!) but then he decided that I really need to go to school. Not that I'm stupid, I just needed to. Every filly my age needed too..let's just get to the chase before I ramble. Me and Swift were walking towards the school, and I was in no way happy. Being woken up this early for school was really annoying...how did ponies do it every day when they needed to go? I keep feeling like I'm going to fall over and go back to sleep.. "You'll enjoy it Ice, there's no need to be worried..!" Swift said, even though I was in complete denial. "Suure.." I yawned. "Are you really sure I can't just-" "No." "But-..!" "Nu-uh. Not happening" He chuckled lightly. "If I didn't take you in today, I'm pretty sure Cheerilee would not be too happy. Just think of all the new friends you'll be making!" My ears flopped down a bit..I though Beat and Swift were friends enough. They wouldn't judge or say bad stuff to me. "Is it bad of me to say then that I just want you and Beat as my only friends..?" Swift sighed lightly. He sat down a few steps away from the school and ruffled my mane with a light warm smile "And it'll stay that way, trust me, but you can't keep me and Beat as your only friends. It's better you get some of your own." "Fiiiiiine..." I giggled lightly "You win..I'm going in now" "Atta girl" Swift chuckled and stood back up "Have a good day!" He flared his wings and flew off, back home..where I wanted to be. Oh well, it's only a few hours right..? I straightened myself up and went up the small set of stairs to the door of the School, then knocked. Cheerilee soon answered the door, the best teacher in the world by the way! And smiled bright at me. "Icewing! It's good to finally see you, Swift told me you'd be here today. Ready to learn?" "...I guess...?" I laughed nervously. "Come on in then, I'll introduce you to the class and then show you where to sit." She walked back into the classroom and I followed. And all eyes where on me...even Diamond Tiara and her friend. Ugh. "Settle down Class!" They stopped talking among themselves and looked up at Cheerilee "This is Icewing, she'll be joining our class from now on. I hope that you will all be on your best behavior with her and treat her nicely. Now then, your seat will be next to Diamond Tiara." Just what I needed, a seat next to my -enemy-! I wanted to say something at the time and get a new place but I didn't want to be rude..plus I felt shy about asking such. So I slowly went to the seat beside Tiara and took my place. I didn't even need to look to feel the intense heat of a grin from her. I avoided all eye contact with her in hopes she'd leave me be..and as Cheerilee turned to talk and draw something on the chalkboard- "How was finding ''treasure'', Ice? Fun?" She quietly laughed, I could hear Silver doing the same. I didn't respond to her and kept looking forward. "Yeah..!" Silver came in "Find anything good?" They laughed a little more, and I huffed. But this was when I actually got helped by three fillies I'm real good friends with now! "Hey..!" A yellow furred, red maned filly came in "Leave her alone, Diamond! She ain't done nothin' to ya!" "Or what?" She glared daggers at her "What're you going to do, blank flank?" Another filly came into the heated argument, a orange furred and purple-ish maned one. "Or you'll regret it, that's what..! You know we're pretty good with pranks and stuff, we could get you easy!" "Girls!" The four immediately turned back to Cheerilee and smiled innocently, who wasn't happy they were fighting once more. "Honestly, can you not behave and not fight in front of the new student..?" She shook her head, turning back to the chalkboard and going on with the lesson. From then on it was, thankfully, fight and trouble free up until the first break. We were all let outside and I was thankful Diamond and Silver strutted off to leave me alone. I rolled my eyes and sighed "Stupid jerk.." "Ah know, right?" A giggle came from the filly who had helped me earlier, known as Applebloom. She joined me by my side "She can be such a pain." Scootaloo, the other filly who had aided me in my time of need, came up as well and snickered "Good thing cool fillies like us have got your back!" Applebloom seemed to have rolled her eyes and smiled at Scootaloo's usual wording. "Ya're so like Rainbow, it's unreal" She giggled. "I know, and it's a good thing!" She smirked. Another filly joined us who was with both Scootaloo and Applebloom, her name being Sweetie Belle. "Hi Icewing! Sorry about Diamond and Silver..they gave us a hard time on the first days of school as well, but we won't let them bother you too much!" She squeed "I'm Sweetie Belle, this is Applebloom and Scootaloo, it's nice to meet you." "It's nice to meet you three as well" I smiled bright "Wow, already made new friends. That was way easier then I thought" I laughed. Applebloom chuckled "Hehe, good ta be your first three friends! Oh, can ah ask? What were they botherin' ya about..? Somethin' to do with treasure is all ah heard" Oh good..now I'll look like a fool to my first three friends. Or well, so I thought. "You promise you won't laugh..?" The three of them shook their heads "Alright, I'll explain from the beginning." I then went through all that happened that day, from when Diamond told me about the treasure, to being chased by a hydra, then being saved by Swift. I couldn't help but shudder at the memory of being chased by the huge scary thing as well.. "Whoooaaa...You got chased by a Hydra and got away with it?!" Scootaloo gleamed "Wow, that's cool!" "Ah don't think nearly being squished counts as cool, Scootaloo.." Applebloom added. "Yeah..they've nearly done the same to us, but we know most the time there lying now" Sweetie sighed "At least you got out alive..!" "And thankfully nopony knows but them!" I smiled lightly to myself, and the three laughed a little. I was so glad that they were way more friendly then how Diamond and Silver acted. I hope the rest of the class were a little more better as well. "Let's go find a place to sit down, we can keep on talking then!" Scootaloo has suggested and we agreed, heading over to a tree and sitting underneath the shade. And as we settled down, I told them all about myself. The normal stuff, y'know? What I liked, what I didn't, where I was staying and all that. And in return, they told me all about themselves as well and even about the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I laughed at every little story they told me about what they did and how they tended to mess up in silly little ways. "I'm sure you three will get your cutie marks soon!" I cheered, smiling bright. "Thank ya, Ice. We sure are tryin' but nothin' seems to work so far...ah wonder what we're missing..." Applebloom thought to herself. Sweetie giggled lightly at her train of though, and looked over at me "Thanks! You're really nice to be with, by the way." She smiled bright. "I am? Wow, thanks!" I smiled back, this felt all types of cool..! Soon, the bell began to rang and the four of us hurried back into the Classroom, and after a long few hours of class and another break, it was finally the end of the day. I walked out with my three new friends and I saw Beat wave me over. "See ya guys! I can't wait to see you tommorow!" I smiled and they said goodbye to me as well, as I trotted over to Beat "Heh, makin' friends easy?" Beat chuckled "Swift told ya it'd be easy." "Yeah yeah..don't rub it in Mr. DJ" I laughed and started heading home with Beat "Why hasn't Swift come to pick me up anyway?" "He was a little busy with something. Something to do with Rainbow? I dunno, he didn't explain."  Beat shrugged. "Huh..weird. Oh well!" I smiled. It was a pretty good day today.. So that was my first day..wasn't as bad as I'd originally thought it would be. Maybe if I'm lucky Diamond won't be too much of a bother tommorow, ah well, we will see! //-------------------------------------------------------// Joining the ranks! //-------------------------------------------------------// Joining the ranks! Hi again! So I thought I'd tell you something really exciting that happened the next day in school, something with the Cutie Mark Crusaders! Or CMC for short. I'll just jump straight to it! From the Morning, anyway. The sun was shining in from my room, well, it would've been if I didn't keep my curtains closed. I slept peacefully in my bed, dreaming mostly about having fun times with my new found friends. That was, until Swift came in to wake me up for school... He came into my room, "Wakey wakey Icewing!" He said a little loudly. I groaned and rolled over in my bed. "Five more minutes.." I said in a tired tone. Swift chuckled lightly, shaking his head, walking over to the curtains and opening them. I sat up slowly and covered my eyes with my foreleg. "Is that really neccessary..?" "Yup." He smirked. "Up outta bed, you gotta get ready and eat before you leave." He left the room and I sighed, climbing off my bed and sleepily heading out the room...walking into the wall next to the door before I left. I really got to get used to waking up this early. After I got myself ready, had breakfast and sorted out my mess of a mane, I headed out of the house and off to school. On my own this time, I knew the way from yesterdays walk and I didn't need to guided no more! I was real happy to be going to school again, more than yesterday, mainly because I was going to meet Sweetie, Scootaloo and Applebloom again! I soon neared the School as the other students were walking in, and I spotted the three waiting for me nearby "Hey Ice!" Applebloom called over, smiling bright. I trotted over happily and smiled back at the three "Heya girls! How's it going?" "Could be better.." Scootaloo groaned. She looked tired and her mane was a mess. I giggled lightly "Uh..do I have to ask?" I giggled still, and Sweetie shook her head giggling too. "She had a late night, despite that we had school in the morning" Sweetie replied. "You know she's going to notice, Scootaloo" "Yeah yeah.." She yawned, walking inside "Let's just get this first lesson over with.." The three of us laughed a little at Scootaloo before following in after. And as the lesson went on, I was actually expecting Diamond and Silver to be a pain throughout it..but she wasn't, strangely. She just stayed quiet and kept looking forward. Not that I had any problems with it, but it was weird. Maybe she'd finally given up being a bully for once? Eh..I doubt it, oh well!  The lesson flew by pretty quickly and we were back outside for the first break. I walked out with the CMC, talking to them with a smile. "Ah suppose that was a cool lesson, but the funniest part was Scootaloo falling asleep" She laughs "The thud made me crack..!" Scootaloo huffed and walked a little ahead, probably too tired to argue back with her, as the three of us laughed a little "Let's leave her alone, she's really tired soo." Sweetie kindly said. "Alright, fainh, but don't blame me next time she facedesks" Me and Applebloom laughed a little again. "Did you three do anything yesterday? Can I ask?" I smiled. "Well..we tried DJing at Vinyl's house." Sweetie nervously said. "Let's just say we're not dropping any ''wubs'' anytime soon.." Applebloom laughed a little "Yeah, nevah again." It was always real fun being around these three, and I always did wander what it would be like to be a part of the CMC, having these really fun adventures and things with them..! Maybe I should... "Girls? Can I ask something?" I smiled, if not a little nervously, I didn't know if they'd be mad if I'd asked after the second day of being friends with them. "Yeah, sure! Anything!" Sweetie happily said, the three looking my way. "Is it okay if..I join the CMC too? It sounds really fun and I thought it'd maybe bring us closer..!" The three of them looked at one another, then seemed to huddle together and whisper with one another hurriedly. I sat down and waited, nervously awaiting whatever they were going to say next. They seemed to talk to one another for at least ten minutes before turning back to me with a smile. "Alright, Icewing, your in! We've been looking for a new member for soo long, it's been just us three for a while" Scootaloo said happily "Really?!" I smiled bright, and they all nodded "Cool, I didn't think it'd be that easy! Thank you three so much, you're the best!" I giggled lightly "Aw shucks, that's nice of ya ta say" Applebloom giggled "Glad to have ya on board, Ice! Though we're gonna have ta make some sorta initiation thingy at some point..but nothin' ta worry about Ice." "Yaaay.." I said, a little worried about that last part. But I'm sure it was nothing bad at least! And just then, the bell for the next lesson rang, the three of us quickly hurrying back inside for the next lesson. Hehe, that was a fun initiation though, but I think I'll save it for next time! I'm sure you'll like it!
