Twilight Sparkle goes on a transdimensional adventure and doesn't have a lot of fun.

Twilight Sparkle is the princess of Friendship. This bond she has with the rest of the Element Bearers has helped her overcome many seemingly-insurmountable obstacles. Friendship always triumphs, even when all seems lost.
So how shall she deal with being whisked away from Ponyville, her friends, everything she holds dear, only to end up in a world where tall buildings of steel, glass, and vibrant lights stretch towards the sky, where the world's inhabitants are made of both flesh and metal, where the strong lord over the weak, where those worse off in their lives are forced to eke out an existence at the age-old foundations of the skyscrapers they first saw upon their arrival, while those who only care about money and power hold onto their riches with paranoid greed.
Kind souls do not prosper here.
Friendship and trust are replaced with supplicatory leers and oily words.
So it has been for many, many years.
