Applejack sat on the porch of the old farm house, the wind slightly blowing through her fur and mane. The porch looked nice in the moonlight, its white banaster and walnut stained floors looked nice in dim light. It was a nice night, stars were in the sky, bright a beautiful, Luna had put a few more than usual tonight. Applejack, was slowly playing her banjo, while looking out at the orchard, and taking in the beauty of the night. She was calm, content, at peace. She heard hoofsteps coming closer to the door, she turned to look and see who it was. Granny Smith had come out of the door, and sat on the old rocking chair, with a small cup of cider. "Stars are really beautful tonight, eh' Granny"? said Applejack, with a slight bit of enthusiasm. "Yep, i remember how i used to come and sit here with your Mother while she was still a filly. I would read to her, to sooth her when the bullies at school would tease her, as you know, we were late bloomers after all." Applejack stopped playing her banjo, and looked to the night sky. She tried to remember her parents, a trip down memory lane. "Come my little apples! It's time for supper!" Applejack's mom would say, "Coming!" they used to say in unicen. Two fillies could be heard running down the stairs to the kitchen, there mom would sit down slowly, with her newborn, which they had named Applebloom. There Mother would pull a fresh bottle of milk from the ice box, and there father would serve them roasted vegetables, with a side of fresh cut apples. They would all sit at the hardwood table there Father had made. As there mom fed the foal, the fillies would eat away at there meals, while there Father helped give their mother some food, as you should know, raising a filly isn't easy, after all. Applejack would race her brother, Big Mac, to see who could finish first, Applejack, finishing first, yelled "I'm First!" Big Mac, looked at his sisters plate, seeing it was empty, and seeing how much of a mess they had both made, said "Oh gee, looks like you got me this time" Their Mother and Father would laugh at the site of such a thing, it was a happy time after all. There Father would take the plates carefully on his back, and put them in the washing bin, to be washed later, for now, it was time for desert, and even bigger mess. Now it was time to see who got the first piece of pie. To do so, there would be a Cleaning War, between Big Mac and Applejack, this was also there Father's way of not having to do their dishes. They would both wash there dishes, scrubbing hard and fast. Then there Father would judge who was the cleanest. In the end, the two fillies presented there plates to their Father. After some careful judging, Big Mac, was the winner. "You may eat fast, but i clean way better than you!" "Eh, you win some you lose some, isn't that right Mom?" Applejack replied. There Mother nodded with a grin, while looking at her foal, who was falling asleep. While the fillies were busy getting their pie. There mother brought there foal sister to her crib. When she returned, she saw the two fillies eating there pie like bears to honey. It was a funny sight. To see her two fillies eating their pies in such a manner. When it was all done, the fillies put their plates in the wash bin, wiped themselves clean, and went upstairs to prepare for bed. Big Mac, got his blanket his mother had made out, and spread it on his straw bed, which was freshly made of straw. He pulled the blanket over himself, blew out the candle in his window, and proceded to fall asleep into a deep, happy sleep, with many delightful dreams. Applejack, went to her room, she liked harder bed's to lay on, so her straw was packed tight, and she had another blanket that her mother had made for her aswell. She pulled it over herself, and proceded to do the same as Big Mac. There parents had checked the rooms and mad sure everypony was asleep. They foal in her crib, Applejack in her straw bed, Big Mac with his large blanket over him, in a ball of straw. They to would now go to bed, they had a long day ahead of them, only never to see the tragic end that would come. Applejack broke from her memories with the sound of Granny Smith getting up to get another cup of cider. She looked back to the kitchen and the old wash bin. She looked back to the stars, seeing the wind blow a few leaves, slowly through the air. A tear had begun to form its path down Applejack's face. Big Mac, heard her sniffle, and brought her a tissue, he knew what was wrong. This day was the day their parents had passed. She looked at Big Mac, to see Granny Smith sitting back in her chair, Big Mac, had sat down on the porch. He to, looked to the sky, to see the stars. He put a hoof around his now slowly crying sister. He then said "I know it's hard, it's hard for all of us, but we have to remember it's ok, there happy now, and we should be happy to, they would be proud to see us keeping the farm like it is now." His sister looked up at him, and wiped the tears away from her face and said "Thanks Big Mac, i really needed that." Her brother just looked and smiled, Granny Smith was now done with her cider and said, "Well, lets have a nice rest tonight, i'll make sure to check on you like your parents did, just for old time's sake." Both ponies laughed at this, and went back inside, to go to sleep.
