The Damaged Diamond and Shattered Silver
Lucky To Be Alive, But At A Cost
The sun shone down upon Canterlot High, like a celestial flashlight illuminating the world for the students inside and out. The campus was buzzing with activity, mainly about gossip and whatnot. There were also some students deep into their books, getting their brains thinking for the upcoming tests they would receive.
Among these many students, were a girl with purple and white hair and a yellow jacket. She also had a distinguishable little tiara perched upon the back of her left ear. She was followed by a girl with flowing silver hair, a purple shirt and a special necklace adorned with a spoon charm.
They were known as Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, the two most influential girls in school. Since Sunset Shimmer's downfall, these two were the voices to listen to now, but instead of splitting the students up like Sunset used to, Diamond and Silver were amazing strategists, and always led the students who worked with them in the right direction.
Today was to be another ordinary day in the lives of Diamond and Silver, organize plans for the upcoming sports day, get some paperwork from teachers done, revise for their upcoming tests and then go home. But something would happen today. Something that would change their lives forever...
"So, each student takes turns in the obstacle course. Then they run back around to the front of the line, tag the person in the front of the line, prompting them to go, whilst they head back to the start of the line." Diamond said, surveying a makeshift obstacle course for the upcoming sports day. "Looks like everything's running smoothly here."
"Now then, we'll need to make sure we arrange the timetable for this event smoothly, so that none of the events clash with anyone's lessons..." Diamond thought of a complex time list and wrote it down on the clipboard. It seemed to run all through the afternoon, seeing as most classes had a lot to do in the mornings.
"Don't forget, Di, We need to run this course as well." Silver said as she placed the nearby times list next to the course, so that it was easy for everyone running to keep track of the other players' times. "It wouldn't be fair on the rest of the school if we didn't run the course."
"I know, I know. Jeez!" Diamond said, clearly annoyed by a fact that she was certain of, and that no-one else needed to remind her. "You don't always have to bring it up every time we plan out our events, Silvs."
"And besides, we boast the best agility in all of CHS." Diamond said as she nimbly and quickly maneuvered throughout the course, vaulting over the big hurdle and sliding under the next. Then, to top it all off, she ran up the climbing wall and leapt off just as fast. "Those Freerunning and Parkour after-school clubs really paid off in the end, didn't that?"
"Di, just a quick reminder. Save it for the actual day." Silver gave her some good advice as she wiped the sweat off of her forehead. "What fun is there in showing off, if you're too tired to do it and no-one is there?"
"Oh, right." She chuckled lamely. "I always seem to forget that."
"I've also come prepared." Silver pulled the legs of her trousers up, revealing sky-blue leg warmers on each leg. "I got them on sale, in case I needed to rough it at times."
"Speaking of rough it..." Diamond looked behind Silver and saw that three other girls were hiding behind the bleachers, as if they were spying on Diamond and Silver. Once they exchanged long glances, the three girls disappeared behind the bleachers. "Keep an eye on the course for me." Then she took off.
Diamond quickly ran to the side of the bleachers, where kids usually spent their time here making out, discussing in private, or even just hanging here. She saw the girls again, and they quickly froze up with surprise, enabling Diamond to walk up to them.
"Might I ask you girls something?" Diamond said, kneeling down so that the four of them could talk without any of them having to look up or down. "This is a restricted area, why are you here? And on another note, aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"Why should we have ta answer ta you, Diamond Tiara?" One of the girls said, as if to defend the group altogether. She was distinguishable by her pink bow in her red hair. "What happens between the three a' us is private business."
"Private business doesn't usually mean having to spy on a surprise." Diamond said, in an interrogative manner. "Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna authorized me and Silver Spoon to make sure these events are secret to EVERYONE, including the kids in detention."
"Now I'll just have to take you three to Celestia and inform her that not only did you ditch class, but you also spied on a secret event." Diamond said, grabbing a girl with spiky purple hair and a ripped-sleeve shirt.
"Hey! Get off!" Said the girl, yanking her arm away from Diamond's grasp, leaving a bright as day red grab mark on it. Then she got a devious little smirk on her face and looked over to the other girls. "We can't get in trouble if you can't catch us!"
And with that, the three of them took off from behind the bleacher and ran out, laughing as they left Diamond with a surprised expression. She didn't seem amused as she saw the three of them running out into the field, leaving her behind.
"GET BACK HERE!!!" She screamed and bolted after the three girls, leaving the bleacher area in a quick 8 seconds so that she could catch up with the three troublemakers.
Once she was back into the field, she saw the three of them running around the field, laughing as they ran in a peculiar fashion which would have them escaping the grabby hands of Diamond.
It seemed to work though, as Diamond couldn't even lay a finger on the three of them. Even when she got close, the girls made quick twirls to confuse her and trip her up, laughing as Diamond faceplanted into the grassy field
"Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, I didn't want it to come down to this, but you've forced my hand." She said to herself as she picked her face off of the grass and climbed back up to her feet, where she charged forward for the girl with the bow in her hair
"Silver, I could use some help here!" She grabbed the attention of Silver, who was now aiding in the capture of the three girls by performing the old-fashioned Pincer Method on them.
Even with this new method, the three girls were still just messing with Diamond and Silver, and they bolted left or right at the last second, causing Diamond and Silver to crash into each other.
"Looks like we're off the hook." Said the third girl, with a hint of spite in her tone as she ran off with the other two girls. They ran over the road, empty as always, and made it to the other side.
"Girls, I'm really quite furious with what you're pulling here. You three are looking at expulsion for this cavalcade of nonsense and idiocy." Diamond said, attempting to use logic to bring the three girls to their senses.
"English, please?" The purple hair girl said, raising her hand as she spoke, so that she would get a good explanation.
"If you don't come back, you'll not only get banned from doing the sports day, but you'll also be banned from coming to this school, and you'll have to move to another town, FAR AWAY from all the friends you made." Silver said, in terms so simple, even an elementary school kids could comprehend.
"So what? Ah bet ya'll are just bluffin' ta make us feel scared." Said the girl with the bow in her hair.
"Silver, on me. We're going to get these girls and haul their fried asses back to CHS, even if we have to get the cops to do so at the same time." Diamond took Silver by the wrist and ran over the street. She was almost there, when fate took a cruel turn for the worse...
A car, straight out of nowhere, collided with Diamond and Silver, throwing them across the road like ragdolls. They tried to land on their feet, but they were in too much pain to do so, and landed on their backs in a mess of limbs and clothes.
The three girls looked shocked as the car stopped, so that the person driving it could get out and see the damage inflicted on Diamond and Silver. He looked at the two bodies and immediately pulled out his phone, calling for an ambulance no doubt.
"Oh no..." Said the third girl, feeling sorry for the now unconscious Diamond and Silver. "We're really gonna get it now..."
"A-Ah never meant fer her ta get hurt..." The girl with the bow ran over to Diamond and Silver to check their pulse. To her shock, the pulse seemed non-existant. "They don't even have pulses."
"We're... We're murderers..." The girl with the purple hair looked down on Diamond and Silver with a terrified expression on her face. "I gotta get outta here!" Then she ran off down the streets, away from the other girls.
"Scootaloo, wait!!!" One of them tried to call back, before noticing the other was running after the running girl. They wanted to face their punishment together, instead of taking it alone, so that it seemed different every time.
As they ran off, an ambulance brushed past them, the one for Diamond and Silver. It stopped in front of Diamond and Silver, making sure not to deal them any further harm. Just as the medics got out, the entire school was coming over to see what had happened, with Celestia and Luna being the last to exit.
As soon as Celestia and Luna saw who were being loaded into the two stretchers, they looked worried and ran over to them, pushing students aside with little effort.
"Diamond, Silver, what happened to you?" Celestia asked, looking absolutely terrified when she saw Diamond and Silver like that.
"T-They h-happened..." Diamond said, pointing one of her fingers towards the three fleeing girls, who now looked back to see everything. They then hung their heads and walked back slowly, none of them uttered a single word or breathed a single breath.
"C-Celestia, L-L-Luna. *cough cough* Please... Punish them for this." Silver said before she blacked out, motioning the medics to carry the stretchers into the van.
"Don't worry. They'll be fine." One of the medics said as he shut the back of the ambulance and walked back over to the driver's seat. "But I'm not sure whether or not they'll be back for a while. So I advise you give them time to recover, so that we can fix this."
"I understand, you're just doing your job, as will the doctors." Luna said, looking quite pale as she watched him getting into the ambulance and drive off with Diamond and Silver inside.
"Alright, everyone." Celestia addressed all the students, who were now looking at her with emotionless expressions showing. "I know this has been a bit of a shock, but we can't let this hinder our progress."
"That's right." Luna looked at another group of girls, who were looking right back at her. "Rainbow Dash. I assure you and your friends can pick up where Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon left off?"
"I'll do my best." She replied, in a more neutral tone than she was accustomed to having. "I also feel sorry for Diamond and Silver after seeing that, I promise, not only for them, but for the school, we'll get this planning done in record time and be ready for the sports day in no time."
"Good to hear." Luna turned her gaze to meet the eyes of the three girls from earlier, who had finally regrouped with the school. "As for the three of you, I'll be having your parents punish you for this heinous act." Her calm look now looked a little bit more hostile as she glared at the three of them.
"Furthermore, you'll be spending your breaks in detention until further notice." Celestia said, also showing a look of hatred. "You'll have your meals delivered to you during lunch, but I can't risk the three of you doing anyone else any harm."
"Tomorrow morning, you three are to report to the detention hall for the day." Luna gave the three girls the command, and they glumly nodded, accepting their fate. "Fail to comply with these orders, and you shall spend the rest of your term serving a prison sentence. Am I making myself clear?!" She yelled in scorn.
"Yes, Vice Principal Luna." They all said in a sad tone, and in perfect unison believe it or not.
"Good." She then returned to the rest of the group, who were looking at her with surprise. "As for the rest of you, we shall be dismissing school earlier than usual, due to this accident."
"Get some rest, study hard, and come back tomorrow." Celestia said as the students began to disperse to their homes.
Diamond and Silver could barely make anything out as they finally came to. However, they were able to faintly see what looked like hospital corridors as they were rushed into the operating theatre, they were still hanging on to their lives, but by a mere thread.
Then once they made it into the room at the end of the corridor, they blacked out, letting their vision become consumed by an empty, lifeless void. Just as they were about to lose the rest of their faint consciousness, they heard a voice calling from afar.
"Clear!" It said just before Diamond and Silver regained consciousness. A sudden jolt of electricity surged through them, and they jerked a little as they finally came back to the light.
They found themselves in a hospital, with bright walls. Not only that, but they were also surrounded by a bunch of monitors, no doubt for reading pulses, heartbeats, and other medical features. They were being watched over by five doctors, who looked so relieved once they exchanged glances.
"Oh man, you girls are lucky." One of the doctors said as Diamond and Silver sat back up. "Not many kids your age take a car hit and live."
"How long have we been out?" Silver asked once she looked around for a window or clock, but to her dismay, found nothing of timekeeping usage.
"You were out for around an hour or so." Said another one of the medics as they removed the drips from the backs of Diamond and Silver's hands, causing them to wince in pain a little as the needle part came out. "Your parents were worried sick."
And as if it were on cue, Diamond and Silver's parents came in with relieved expressions once they saw their daughters being treated. Diamond Tiara's father, Filthy Rich, was still sporting his business attire, having being rushed over from work to see his daughter. He was accompanied by his wife, who had a pinkish-golden skin and long, vibrant pink hair. Her peach broach was in her hands, rather than in her hair, and she had been clutching it tight throughout the whole ordeal.
As for Silver Spoon's parents, they were both dressed in stylish clothing, so that they stood out from the rest of the crowd. They also adorned silver pendants, much like Silver's spoon pendant. However, the pendants that their parents wore looked like two halves of a bigger pendant. Her parents always wore these necklaces so that they could find each other.
"Mum, Dad." Diamond hugged her parents tightly once the band-aid was applied to where the drip cable was. "I thought I was a goner for sure."
"Oh, Diamond, my sweetie. I thought about that too for the time you were out." Her mum hugged her right back and patted her back as she and Diamond were smiling at each other.
"Well, Diamond, I expected no less from my bright and talented daughter." Filthy Rich said as Diamond and Silver finally stood up. "You even carried over your fast healing traits from your mother and me."
"Silver, my darling." Silver's Mum said as she too began to cherish Silver's life in her hug. "I'm so relieved you're alright. I never thought you'd be alive after that car incident."
"Well, I too thought I was about to join grandma in heaven, but it looks like I was-" Suddenly, she stopped talking when she felt a sense of warmth in her pants. "Wait, did I just..."
"Oh no..." Diamond said as she too felt the exact same warmth. The two of them looked down and saw a terrifying sight, they were wetting themselves, and they had only just noticed.
"What's wrong, girls?" Filthy Rich asked as he saw the two of them freeze up in fear and embarrassment.
"I think something's wrong with us." Silver started shaking in panic as she felt the warmth of her soaked undergarments firmly. "Doctor, can you explain this?"
"Yes I can, Silver." He said, but then felt a little concerned once he said the next words. "But you and Diamond might not like the answer..."
"Trust me, we've heard worse news before." Diamond said, sounding a little more serious now. At this moment in time, she didn't even care. She and Silver Spoon wanted answers.
"Alright then." He pulled up an X-ray of Diamond and Silver's internal organs. Everything seemed normal, heart was there, so were the lungs, the long and short intestine. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except for a little brown mark on their bladders."If you could direct your attention on this particular organ here."
"You mean the bladders?" Diamond asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"Yes, it would seem that when that car hit the two of you, it gave you both bladder contusions." The doctor said, making sure that he was still serious, even if this was some bad news.
While their parents looked stunned, Diamond and Silver merely looked surprised as anything. "English, please?" Diamond asked.
"You two have suffered bladder bruises. While it isn't fatal or painful, it has altered the bladder control you two used to have." He said, as he tapped the brown parts of the bladder. "Whenever you two pee or poop, you won't even feel it or be given any warning as to when you do it."
"You could even pee or poop in your sleep, during class, during a speech. Basically, all the worst possible times to go and you'll do it anyways." Another doctor said, to help the two girls better understand the situation at hand.
"But, how will we be able to go to school if we're stuck like this?!" Diamond asked, now realizing the situation and wasn't very happy about it. "I can't just soil myself in the middle of class!!! Not with all the work I've been getting, anyways." She crossed her arms and thought about all the work she had been assigned.
"I'm sorry that this had to happen, girls." A third doctor said as he made the X-ray disappear from their sight. "It isn't impossible, in case you were wondering, it's just extraordinarily rare."
"Is there a way to cure this?" Silver asked, hoping to hear a good answer.
"Well, the damage won't heal over a period of time, so you two are stuck with those bruised bladders until we can-"
"YOU THINK I WANT TO BE STUCK LIKE THIS, DOC?!?!?!" Diamond suddenly lost it, she didn't even want to hear the end of that sentence. The facts were irrefutable, and she was pretty mad about it. "I NEVER WANTED ANY OF THIS TO HAPPEN!!! AND NEITHER DID SILVER!!!"
"Diamond, calm down, you're starting to act like a child." Her mother tried to calm her down by massaging her shoulders, but to her dismay, it didn't work.
"WELL NO SHIT!!!" Diamond turned around and almost knocked her mother out of her way "I'VE HAD TO PUT UP WITH A LOT OF CRAP OVER THE TERMS AT CHS, BUT THIS IS THE MOST BULLSHIT OCCURENCE I'VE EVER HAD TO BE FORCED TO DEAL WITH!!!"
"Diamond, watch your tongue!" Her father scolded her. Sure enough, Diamond got the message and her rage subsided. "Any further outbursts will result in you getting grounded, missy!"
"Yes, daddy." She said, her father's venomous tone striking her deep where it counted, the heart. "I'll be good."
"There is one way we can cure you two of this." Said the fourth doctor to the two of them. "But again, you might not like the answer."
"I don't even care anymore." Diamond said, in a sulky tone now. She had heard enough, she was stuck like this and wanted to deny any more heartbreak that was sent her way. "Just tell us."
"We can perform a bladder transplant operation for you two." The final doctor began explaining to them. "We'll put you to sleep with our powerful no-pain anesthetics, cut you open in your sleep, take the bad bladders out, replace them with new ones and the stitch the cuts back up, so that it looked like we never did it."
"But it's a very pricey operation, and a very rare one at that." Said the first doctor.
"How much?" Silver's dad asked.
"$100,000, each." Those words were enough to make the mothers freeze up, and for the fathers to stutter aghast.
"A hundred thousand-" Filthy Rich cursed under his breath as he heard that phenomenal budget. "There's no way we can afford that, especially with the mortgages and tax we've had to put up with over the years."
"It's okay, we can put it off until you amass the $100,000 we ask for," He said as he turned his gaze to Diamond and Silver again. "But until we can work out that transaction, diapers would be my best recommendation for Diamond and Silver here."
"Thank you, Doc." Silver's dad said, sounding emotionless as he took Silver's shoulder with his hand. "We'll work something out and then be back with your money. In cash." Then the Silvers left the operating theatre and made it for their house
"Daddy, are you sure we can afford my operation?" Diamond looked a little worried as she dreaded the answer.
"There's a lot of taxes and mortgages to pay, Diamond." He said, finally giving her his verdict. "If I paid for your operation here and now, I'll be at risk of bankruptcy. I'm sorry, Diamond."
"No..." Tears started to form in her eyes and she threw herself into her mother's chest and began sobbing. "But I don't want to be stuck with a damaged bladder." Her words became complete nonsense as she blubbered in sadness.
"I know, Diamond, I know." Said her mother, trying to comfort her. "What your dad means to say," She shot him a little death glare. "Is that we could put some money aside over time and make a little sub storage. Like a special chart that could have our goal at the top, and the money we make as the gauge."
"R-Really?" Diamond sniffled, but looked a little happier now.
"If everyone chips in with helping you through this, we can make sure you get out of this nonsense quicker than usual." Her mom's words were so soothing once they were used to explain something. "Your classmates may also help you as well, once they hear how dire the situation is."
"Thanks, mom." Diamond said, the last of her tears vanishing from her eyes. "I'm so lucky to have such kind, considerable and loving parents like you and daddy." Then she hugged them.
"First off, let's get you cleaned up, then we can head back to the house to talk about how we can save some money for your 'treatment'" Filthy Rich began to walk Diamond out of the room, with her mother close behind. "Thanks again, Doc." He turned back to say that before he left.
Diamond was allowed to use the bathroom to clean herself up. She got her boots and trousers off, soaked the trousers with the warm tap and soap, washed it up, and then took it over to the blow-dryer to clean it up fast.
Once Diamond was satisfied with her clean clothes, she put them back on and walked out, where she could see Silver was just leaving with her family.
"Nothing to worry about, Diamond Tiara. It's just a few months, 6 tops, in diapers." She said in her mind as she and her parents walked her out of the hospital and put her in the car. "And Silver's suffering the same fate as me. So really, what could possibly go wrong?"
