//-------------------------------------------------------// Yu-Gi-Oh! Lights of a Nightmare -by Ty The Draco- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue Welcome fellow duelists to a world of your wildest imagination. This journey that you are about to embark on will feature some of the very best duelists to have ever picked up a deck. "It's time to duel!" Duelists who have stood up to the faces of evil itself. "Get your game on!" Duelists who overcame even their worst nightmare to protect their loved ones. "Let's rev it up!" But before we do, let's take a look back at these duelists and their history. Long ago, when the pyramids were still young, Egyptian kings played games of great and terrible power that threatened to destroy the world. Until a brave and powerful pharaoh locked the magic away within the mystical Millennium Items. Now, 5,000 years later, a boy named Yugi unlocks the secret of the Millennium Puzzle. He is gifted with mystical powers as he has been chosen to defend the world from the return of the Shadow Games, just as the brave pharaoh did 5,000 years ago. But the ancient kings never predicted that their wars would evolve into one of the most popular card games ever, duel monsters. And one of the best to have ever played this game was Yugi Muto. He was always up for a good challenge. One day, his grandfather decided to give Yugi his greatest challenge, assembling a 5,000 year old artifact. But solving the Millennium Puzzle wasn't impossible for Yugi. But when he did, he also unlocked the powers of a powerful pharaoh. And the two became great friends. "The Millennium Puzzle connects us Yugi. And I sense fate has more in store for us." said Atem. "Well we're in this together, no matter what." responded Yugi. It wouldn't be long before they started working together to save the world from evil forces, like the ruthless Seto Kaiba. "Draw your last pathetic card so I can end this Yugi." said Kaiba. "My grandpa's deck has no pathetic cards Kaiba, but it does contain...the unstoppable Exodia! I've assembled all 5 special cards, all 5 pieces of the puzzle!" said Yugi. "Th-that's not possible! No one's ever been able to call him!" said a scared Kaiba. "Exodia, Obliterate!" yelled Yugi. "AHHHHHHH!!!" screamed Kaiba. As well as Pegasus, the cold hearted creator of duel monsters, who coveted Yugi's Millennium Puzzle. "And nor for the ultimate merged monster, the Thousand Eyes Restrict!" yelled Pegasus. "Now Magician of Black Chaos, attack with Chaos Scepter Blast! Your Thousand Eyes Restrict has been destroyed!" yelled Yugi. "Ohhhhh nooooo!" yelled Pegasus. And let's not forget about the maniacal Marik Ishtar, who wanted to get revenge on the Pharaoh. "The darkness is here to stay!" said Marik. "Behold, Ragnarok! Once this magic is released, every card on your field is destroyed, including your Winged Dragon of Ra! It's time for me to fulfill my destiny and rid the world of your evil once and for all!" said Yugi. Yugi fought many battles, earning him the name he is known by today, the King of Games. And what a reign he had. It wasn't long before others would follow in his footsteps and lead to a whole new generation of duelists. Now we'll travel into the future and meet our next duelist. The star of a school with one nature, duel monsters. Let us meet Jaden Yuki. "I've got my deck, I've got my gear, and I've got about 2 minutes to get to the Duel Academy entrance exams before they start. Oh well, at least since I'm not a student yet, they can't throw me into detention." said Jaden as he continued running, only to suddenly run to a man with a familiar hair cut, making Jaden drop his duel disk and cards. "Sorry!" said Jaden as he tried to collect his cards. "You're a duelist, aren't you?" said the man. "Yeah, I'm just going to try out for the academy." said Jaden as the man smiled and reached for something in his own deck attached to his belt. "Heh, you don't say?" said the man as Jaden got up, done with getting his stuff together. "Yeah, hehehehe...hey, you're...?" said Jaden, recognizing who he was talking to as Yugi pulled out a card. "Why don't you take this? Something tells me it just belongs with you." said Yugi as he handed Jaden a card. "Wow, for real?" asked Jaden as Yugi walked by him towards wherever he was going. "Uh, thank you! I'll make you proud!" said Jaden as Yugi looked back at him and gave him a thumbs up. And Jaden had every intention to keep that promise, but when school got hard, Jaden "hardly" studied. During tests, without fail, Jaden always failed. But when it came to dueling, he was at the top of his class. Jaden also had the ability to communicate with duel spirits, like the card Yugi gave him, Winged Kuriboh, as well as a card known as Yubel. This was a good thing for Jaden's friends, who always found a way to get into trouble. But it was when the stakes were really high is when he truly got his game on, like the time he faced the Sacred Beast being controlled by the fiendish Kagemaru. "Aaauuughh...I like* this new body. But something's... still missing. Oh, I know, it's your soul Jaden! Now, let's finish this duel!" yelled Kagemaru. "Go, Sabatiel the Philosopher's Stone! So Electrum's attack points are now-!" yelled Jaden. "14,500?!" said a shocked Kagemaru as Elemental Hero Electrum destroyed the Sacred Beast monster that resembled Obelisk the Tormentor. Or, when he fended off the depraved Sartorius, who wanted to turn the world into mindless zombies. "In mere moments, the people of Earth will worship me!" said a crazed Sartorius. "Hey Neos, let's save the universe, shall we?! Punch his lights out and end this duel!" yelled Jaden. "Aaaaaaagh...!!" yelled Sartorius. And, when he schooled Professor Viper, an instructor who had a sinister agenda... "It's time to get your game on, Viper!" said Jaden. "Come forth, Venomenon, the King of Poisonous Snakes! Go, Fanged Venom!" yelled Viper. "Meteor Meltdown!" yelled Jaden as his Elemental Hero Magma Neos destroyed Viper's monster. Yes, it's true, Jaden never made the honor roll, but he was certainly 'on a roll' when it came to dynamic dueling. Now let's continue into the future. Welcome to New Domino City, where dueling has taken a 'pedal to the medal' way of life. A life lived in the fast lane and no one lives it faster then Yusei Fudo. A master mechanic, whose dueling mettle enabled him to rise from the slums of Satellite, and break down the barriers surrounding New Domino City. Yusei's unrelenting desire to make a better world for those around him was the catalyst that sparked a time of renaissance in New Domino City. Every time he would rev up his duel runner, it was as though he was revving up something deep inside each and every one of those around him. He inspired people to believe that there was a brighter future in store for all. And there was, especially once Yusei discovered he was one of five Signers, linked by destiny to uncover the secrets of the Crimson Dragon. With the power of the Crimson Dragon and unwavering support from his friends, there was no stopping Yusei, even though there were many who tried, like the Dark Signer Roman Goodwin and his Earthbound Immortal. "I am gonna make you pay for all of the damage that you've done!" yelled Yusei. "I now summon Earthbound Immortal Uru! Unleash your web of destruction!" yelled Roman. "I activate my trap, Stardust Flash! I can use this trap card to summon Stardust Dragon! And now he's going to attack with Cosmic Flare!" yelled Yusei as his monster destroyed the Earthbound Immortal. And Director Rex Goodwin, who wanted to destroy the world and rebuild it in his image... "We will duel on the crest of the Condor. There, I will crush you Signers!" said Goodwin. "So let's go!" yelled Yusei as he, Jack Atlas, and Crow Hogan, got onto the crest to do battle. "Now may be a good time to say goodbye! Unleash your fury, Rasca" yelled Goodwin. "I Synchro Summon, the Majestic Star Dragon! Earthbound Immortal Rasca's goin' down! Go, Majestic Star Dragon, Star Shine Shred!" yelled Yusei. "Hmm! I've lost, it's over...!" said Goodwin. And even the time he faced his own future self Z-one, who believed he could save the world. "Face it Yusei...my Time Lord monsters are you're ultimate destroyer..." said Z-one. "Go, Limit Over Accel Synchro Summon! Come forth, Shooting Quasar Dragon! And with this, the world will no longer have to worry about the future! End this thing now!" yelled Yusei as his monster destroyed all of Z-one's monsters. But when the odds were against Yusei, he always kicked things into overdrive. He had to steer through some hard times, but one thing was for sure, when Yusei was in the driver's seat, you knew the next stop, was victory. These three duelists have become icons within the Yu-Gi-Oh history. So much that their legacies expand even beyond space and time. But somewhere, deep within the moon of a certain planet, a dark force was awakening. And this force had a sinister plan. And it's gonna take the combined efforts of the three legends of dueling to stop this. Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh! Lights of a Nightmare. "Is it almost ready?" said a masked man to a creature that seemed to be made out of dark smoke. The creature turned towards the man, holding a deck out to him. "Yes. The plan is almost ready. Now we start phase 2. Taking one of the Element bearers and converting her." said the creature. The man then took the deck and looked through it. He then chuckled. "This is very nice. But it's missing some cards. But I can deal with that myself. Just make sure this deck goes to your queen." said the man as he gave the deck back, then suddenly got on some sort of vehicle and drove away through some sort of portal. The creature then rallied up some others as they looked out towards the nearby planet. They were after a new queen and they would find her in their target, Ponyville.
