Umm... What was was the school.... Oh right.. North, so if I go that way... I think I'm here... A young filly with a coat of a whitish blue colour walked up to the large school building, hearing the chatter of many others. The fills mane was a black colour and her eyes were turquoise and misty, indicating that she was blind. The filly sighed to herself internally and walked up to the school and walked into the building just as the bell rang. Soon many colts and fillies rushed in and took a seat, as did I, being lucky to find a seat that was empty, so I sat quietly and waited, not saying a word.

The teacher walked into the class moments afterwards. She was a well aged mare, not to old but not to young either. She walked up to the podium in the classroom and began talking. "Welcome students, to Cloudsdale elementary school! I am your teacher for the year, Mrs Blizzard." She introduced herself, " Why don't we start with names and something about ourselfs." She said, pointing off to the left, "We'll start from the left."

Phew... I don't have to go right away at least. I should have some time to think... I hope. She thought as the voice she heard was still far to the left. What do I say, What do I say?!? I guess I could tell them my dad is part of the royal guard... Yea, that will do. The next voice She heard was closely to her, making her realize she was thinking for a few minutes. So she just sat there and waited, still nervous about talking to a crowd of ponies she can't even see.

"Um, Little one, you can start now." The teacher said to me with a gentle smile. She was a nice teacher but something seemed off about her.

"Oh... U-um... M-my name I-is Snowy Fury... And.. U-um... My dad I-is part of t-the royal guard.." Snowy managed to say without choking up from the pressure, she could feel the sweat rolling down her head so she wiped it off, carful not to expose her eyes to the others there. Phew... I was about to choke up there, glad I didn't though. She sunk back in my seat and listened in as the teacher was explaining the school year to us. It actually felt like a good hour before the bell went off for recess. Snowy could hear the hooves rushing out the door, chattering to each other as she just sat there, waiting for her to be alone, but for her luck, the teacher came up to her.

"Excuse me, Snowy was it? How come your not joining the others for recess?" She asked Snowy with a worried tone.

"I.... Don't want to be made fun of..." Snowy muttered loud enough for her to hear, that got her attention pretty well as she looked worried, though Snowy couldn't see that.

"Why would they make fun of you dear?" The teacher asked Snowy, her voice full of worry.

"I don't want them making fun of me for being blind." Snowy finally said after a long time, Wait... Why am I telling her this? Snowy wondered as the teacher made an understanding sound, showing that she understood what Snowy ment.

"I understand that it must be tough being blind, but you need to remember that it makes you unique yourself Snowy. Never let that overtake your memory's that your useless." The teachers voice said as she headed outside, leaving Snowy alone.

How can she understand what it feels like to be blind... She thought her words helped me feel better... But they didn't help at all. Snowy thought to herself as she started to cry softly, her crying had taken up her hearing so she did not hear a young colt around her age walk into the room whilst she was crying, the colt walked to Snowy, stopping next to her.

"Um.... Snowy? Are you ok?" The young colt asked, making Snowy jump in shock.

"N-n-no.... I-I'm n-not..." Snowy sobbed as she hugged the colt, trying to comfort herself, .....He feels so warm.... Snowy thought to herself as she cried.

The colt patted Snowy's back gently, "Come in... It's ok.... What's wrong Snowy?" The colt asked the crying filly hugging him.

"I-I-I thought t-t-that the o-o-other would t-t-tease me f-f-for b-b-being blind!!" Snowy cried as she hugged the colt tighter, feeling the warmth of his long fur along her short fur, S-so w-warm... Snowy thought as she rested her head on the colts shoulder and cried.

"Don't worry Snowy, if anyone picks on you, I got your back... By the way, my names Lightning." Lightning said to her, tickling Snowy lightly, making her giggle and relax.

"Thank you Lightning... Would you sit with me in class?" Snowy asked lightning with some sadness still in her eyes from earlier.

"Sure, I'll sit with you during class." Lightning said, causing him to get another hug from the filly.

"Oh thank you thank you thank you!!!!" Snowy cried out, hugging him tightly, enjoying his company. "Oh, and by the way," Snowy said, moving close to him, "Your so warm..." She says, holding him in a hug right next to her, All this warmth.. It feels as if I'm loved again.... I wish this could last forever...

Lightning smiles, "Thanks Snowy." Lightning says as he strokes Snowy's mane, calming her down more and holding her close. "Your a nice filly, you know that?" He says to her.

Snowy's face flushed, "A-actually... Noponys told me that before..." Snowy admitted, "That's sweet of you to say though, so thank you Lightning." Snowy let go of him and smiled herself, "We should get ready for class."

"Yea." Lightning agrees as he settles down in the desk next to Snowy and gets his stuff ready for class.

He's so nice to me... Maybe he is the right colt... We will see soon enough when I admit I have no home. Snowy thought.
