Stuck in the Middle With You
Wow... Slow day, again...
Pinkie Pie sighed, idly blowing a tuft of pink hair out of her face as she glanced about the Corner's main room. It had been yet another slow day. Throughout the entire morning and afternoon so far, she had only a handful of customers, most of whom didn't really stay long or order very much. On the plus side, two of them were her best friends, Applejack and Rainbow Dash. But they had barely stayed long to chat before they'd taken what they had ordered and rushed out the door, without even so much as a “see ya’ ” or “catch you on the flipside”.
If it were up to her, she would not be here. On slow days, she would have loved to be out on the town, spending time with and having fun with her friends. And her bosses, the Cakes, would normally be fine with that. But with them out of town on a short business trip, and having to leave their children behind in the care of a sitter, Pinkie was the only one they could turn to. She smiled faintly, taking at least some satisfaction at knowing she was doing some good. If only it wasn't so boring, though...
Meh. Kinda wish the kids were awake, lamented Pinkie, idly tapping her fingers on the counter with a bored expression. It'd be so much more fun to play with them than just sit here all day. Doing nothing...
She sighed again, and gazed expectantly at the doors, almost as if wishing for someone – anyone – else to walk in at any given moment. Tense seconds passed with no payoff for her patience, so she simply huffed and walked away from the counter, deciding it was not worth it to wait around doing nothing. Instead, she went into the back room again, where the core of the kitchen itself was centered. All manners of stoves, ovens, cupboards, sinks, and other essential kitchen amenities occupied it. A faint but oh-so-sweet smell lingering in the air, however, was what immediately caught her attention.
She giggled, the young woman's excitement starting to kick back into gear as she hurried to check on her latest batch of cinnamon buns. Seeing that they were clearly ready and golden, she expertly slipped on her oven mitts and pulled the tray out of the oven, carting it quickly over to the table as she muttered “hot buns, hot buns, hot buns!” to herself over and over again. She set it down and giggled, gazing down at them for a moment with a critical, appraising eye, then smiled and nodded.
“Perrrrrrrfection!” she chimed after a moment, grinning wide as she scooped up the fresh buns onto a plate with care. She set it down onto the counter and hurried to retrieve a small tub of sugary icing from the fridge, bringing it back and setting it down near it. Using a spreader, she prepped the buns by coating them all in generous amounts of icing sugar, humming a quaint tune as she spread the gooey substance over the tops of the cinnamon rolls. After finishing up, she gently pushed the tub of icing aside, giggling as she admired the sweet, savory creations for a moment. She noticed some of the icing on her fingers, and shrugged, eagerly licking the sweet-tasting substance off of them.
Mmm... gooey.
Satisfied, both at the taste of the sugary coating and at the end result of the buns altogether, she swept up the plate in her grip and happily bounded out of the kitchen. With a slight flourish and a giggle, she set the plate down along with the numerous other goods and pastries; cookies, cakes, pies, and so much else. Most of it left untouched. The reality of this sinking back in, Pinkie let out a “bluh” of boredom and frustration, sitting back down and resting her head on her arms, crossed over on the counter.
Yep... Still a sloooooow day...
Just a few yards down the street, somebody was coming to brighten Pinkie’s day. Twilight hummed to herself, pressing her finger to her forehead in thought as she walked, going over all of the events of the day to herself, and trying to keep in mind where exactly she was going and what she was trying to do. A small, wistful sigh sounded from her lips as she stopped in her tracks, staring at the shadow of a building rising on the ground in front of her.
She ran over the mental checklist of things that had to be done in her mind quickly, making sure that she had the time to visit her friend. Mmm… Really kind of excited to try that new spell. Heh. I can just imagine the look on her face when she sees all that jello… Twilight giggled contentedly to herself as she kept along the street, getting more and more excited to visit her best friend with each step.
“Well, there it is. Let me just…” Twilight reached into her back pocket, feeling around in her jeans to make sure she hadn’t forgotten what she’d needed to bring with her. “Heh… Pinkie’ll get a kick out of this, I bet.” Twilight chuckled softly to herself as she continued her walk toward the building, looking around idly at the sky around her and repeating the steps to the spell in her head. Without hesitation, she opened the door to Sugarcube Corner and stepped inside.
“Pinkie? Are you here?” Twilight looked around for a few moments before noticing a pink tuft of hair sticking up on the counter and walking over, a bright smile on her face.
Hearing the voice of her friend, Pinkie snapped herself to attention, looking up at her with a beaming smile. “Twilight!” she exclaimed, standing up as she leaned forward over the counter to embrace her tightly. “It's so great to see you! It was getting soooooooo boooooooring here! But, now you're here, so it's not boring anymore! Yay!”
Twilight giggled, rolling her eyes a bit. “I thought that you might be a little bored all here by yourself with the twins. Rainbow told me it was a slow day, so I finished everything as fast as I could so I could come over and visit.” Twilight’s smile brightened even wider as she hugged her friend, sighing happily. “It’s great to see you, Pinkie. What have you been doing here all day anyway?”
“Oh, you know, the usual,” said Pinkie, giggling as well. “Working the counter, baking the treats, dusting the counter, mopping the floor…” She began counting on her fingers as she rattled off a list of her activities. “…Watering the plants, replacing the ceiling bulb again, tucking the kids into bed, standing around the counter and staring at the door, sampling some of the treats I baked and then baking some more afterward… You know, slow day stuff.”
“Did you bake anything good?” Twilight tilted her head, trying to find some sort of place to start off the conversation.
Pinkie thought for a moment, then brightened up. “Weeeeeeeell,” she said, reaching over the counter to grab one of the freshly-baked cinnamon rolls she made, and then placing it down in front of her. “I did make these! They’re really sweet! Want one?”
Giggling softly, Twilight reached out, grabbing the leftmost cinnamon roll, watching as the frosting drizzled down the side. Her mouth started to drool as her stomach growled, a faint blush appearing on her face as she looked at Pinkie sheepishly. With a large sigh, she took a bite, eyes widening in surprise at the sheer gooeyness of the frosting, and the overwhelming mixture of sweet cream cheese and cinnamon.
“Wow, Pinkie… Delicious as always! But the frosting’s a lot creamier this time. New recipe?”
Pinkie giggled again. “Mmmm, kind of! Mostly the same, though. Some people just like it creamier, some like it runnier, some… well, you know. I’ve got, like, seven different batches of the stuff stowed away, juuuuuust in case. Hehe…”
As her tongue clicked and rubbed idly along the roof of her mouth, Twilight nodded, a silent gesture of appreciation and admiration. “Oh, that reminds me! I actually found a spell I thought you might like to try out with me, Pinkie.” Twilight giggled, watching her friend’s face intently, eager to see her reaction as she practically hopped in place from the excitement of experimentation.
“Ooooh… A spell?” repeated Pinkie, the look on her face expressing both curiosity and intrigue. “What kind of spell, Twi? Heehee, is it a fun one?”
“Oh, very fun, Pinkie. I think you’d like it! I’ve figured out how to turn matter into other things! I think.” Twilight tapped her chin, trying to find the best way to explain what she wanted to say. “Mind if I demonstrate?” She grabbed a muffin off of the counter, gesturing to it as if asking permission to use the spell.
Pinkie simply nodded, elbows resting on the counter as she looks up at Twilight intently, obviously curious about what she had to show her.
Alright, let’s see… Twilight’s hands and began radiate an intense lavender aura as she concentrated heavily on the muffin in her hand. Ever so slowly, a small purple line drew itself towards one of the cinnamon rolls, surrounding it within moments. Within the blink of an eye, the muffin that had once been sitting in her hand was replaced with a muffin shaped cinnamon roll, the blueberries in the muffin having been replaced with pockets of cream cheese frosting.
Pinkie remained silent for a moment, her eyes widening as her jaw dropped open with amazement and surprise. “Oh... my... GOSH. You made a cream-cheese cinnamon roll muffin?!” she exclaimed, breaking out into a huge grin as she leaned forward to get a better view of the pastry, bouncing up and down with excitement. “That is soooooo cool! That was awesome! Do it again! Do it! Doitdoitdoitdoit–”
Stifling a giggle, Twilight couldn’t help but get caught up in Pinkie’s giddiness, eager to do another test run. “Um… Okay! What do we have around her that I can try it on this time? I’d hate to accidentally transform something important.”
“Yay! Don't worry, I'll find the perfect thing!”
And with that, Pinkie Pie dived out of sight under the counter, rummaging through the stuff underneath it. After a moment of searching, an “Ah-HAH!” was heard, and the pink-haired woman popped back into sight with a small toy car in hand, grinning. “Tah-dah! Look what I found! Seriously, the junk that gets left under here, I swear!”
Giggling madly, Twilight picked up the toy car. Within seconds, a lavender string flew from the car to the same cinnamon roll as before, the toy car transforming into a car shaped cinnamon roll filled with frosting. Her stomach growling once more, Twilight ate the former toy car, sighing happily as she did so.
Pinkie couldn’t help but giggle as well, covering her mouth to stifle the laughter as Twilight ate the cinnamon car. “Heehee! Soooooo awesome,” she said, her mouth not once losing its grin. “Was it yummy? Huh? Was it?”
“Heh… Tasted just like it’d always been one of your cinnamon rolls, Pinkie.” Twilight yawned a bit, chuckling softly as she stretched. “What should we test it on now? I have to admit… This is kind of fun.”
“It is fun! Heehee… Well, there’s a lot of stuff here that would be awesome if they were made into cinnamon rolls…” Pinkie paused for a moment, tapping her chin thoughtfully. “What other kinds of stuff can it make stuff into, Twi? Like… cabbage into cheese, or bricks into jello?”
“Hm… Well… Theoretically, I should be able to make anything into anything if I have enough power and concentration behind the spell. I’m fairly certain, at least. And with what we’ve seen so far, it definitely seems to be the case. I transformed metal into food, so…” Twilight giggled, feeling ever so slightly impressed with herself as a small grin held itself in place on her face.
An excited grin found its way onto Pinkie’s face at her words, and she giggled to herself. “Heehee… So awesome,” she said to herself, giggling again. “So… what kinds of stuff did you have in mind, Twi? Heehee…”
“We can try the jello if you want. Haven’t had jello in some time, now that I think about it…” Twilight rubbed her belly, the long lost taste of key-lime jello assaulting her taste buds as she closed her eyes.
“Oooooh…” Pinkie licked her lips at the mental image of the stuff, giggling. “Heh… Yeah! Let’s do that! Why not? I mean, who doesn’t like jello?”
“Can you get it for me, Pinkie? I’m afraid I’m feeling a little tired at the moment.” Twilight stretched, her joints popping loudly as she did so.
“Okey-dokey-lokey, Twi!”
Giggling, Pinkie made her way back towards the counters, skimming across the selection of desserts and confections as she hummed a tune. After a moment, she finally came across a number of glass bowls, each one loaded with a sumptuous helping of red, green, and pink gelatin cubes. “Oooh! Found ya!” she squealed, snatching one of the pink jello bowls and hurrying back to Twilight. “Got one, Twilight! Got one, got one! Heehee…”
Twilight yawned again, smiling gratefully. “Thanks Pinkie… Heh… Hm… Let’s start with pink, since we’re in Sugarcube Corner and all.” Rubbing her eyes, Twilight grumbled softly to herself. “Stupid sleep schedule… So messed up…”
Confident in her abilities, Twilight started the spell again, the pink gelatin cube surrounded in a purple aura. Twilight grimaced as it wavered a bit, the more than expected power required for the spell and her abnormal sleeping hours draining her concentration momentarily. But one moment was enough. Twilight watched through a hazy daze as the strand reached out with the cube, connecting with her best friend and surrounding her in the same magical field.
“Ummm… Twilight?” asked Pinkie, looking around herself as the magical field encircled her, and feeling rather strange as an odd sensation suddenly washed over her entire body. “Was that supposed to be aimed at me? Because, well… Oooh… heehee, it tickles…”
Twilight shook her head vigorously, closing off the spell in panic, but it was too late. She watched in horror as the spell completed itself, watching the woman before her slowly transform into a Pinkie Pie shaped jello cube. “Oh… Oh s-sweet Celestia… No no no! Pinkie! Oh gosh… Pinkie, I’m so sorry! I-I can fix this! Are you okay?” Twilight frowned deeply, eyes bugging out as she looked around in a panic.
Pinkie blinked, suddenly feeling far more different than she was before, but... not necessarily in a bad way. “I... huh. I feel fine, Twilight,” she said simply, sounding more confused than anything, though the slight gurgle in her voice was rather noticeable. She looked down at herself, seeing her entire body now consisting of nothing but pink, transparent gelatin. Her eyes widened, and she held up her hands, staring at and through them with a look of shock.
“...Oh, my, gosh,” she murmured, hands shaking as she seemed to take in the full implications of her sudden transformation. She slowly looked up at Twilight, a look of pure shock and horror on her jello-like face as she blinked several times. “This... this is... h-how did...” She looked down for a moment, appearing shaken and distraught. But moments later, she looked back up at Twilight, suddenly sporting a grin that rivaled the Cheshire cat. “...I'M MADE OF JELLO, TWILIGHT! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
Twilight blinked in confusion, looking at Pinkie with a mixture of shock, terror, confusion, and bemusement. “I… What? How is this even… How are you even still functioning right now? Not that I’m not relieved, but… You’re jello! And how are you not concerned about this?!”
“Heehee! Why would I be?” asked Pinkie with a happily-oblivious grin, giggling as she gazed down with elation at her gelatinous body. “This is so COOL! I can see right through myself!” She pressed a hand into her clear-pink abdomen, shuddering and gasping with surprise as the hand instantly sunk right through into her stomach. “Woah! I can go right through myself, too! AWESOME!”
Giggling again, Pinkie pulled her hand back out, staring at it for a moment as if contemplating something. She then shrugged, and stuck a few fingers into her mouth, sucking contently on them. “Mmmmm… I have, like, the best flavor ever,” she mumbled out, humming appreciatively at her own taste, and giggling upon sight of Twilight's expression. “Aw, c'mon, it's not that bad...”
Twilight stared, completely baffled with a dumbfounded expression on her face as she watched her friend lick herself. “You’re tasting yourself now? Pinkie, this is serious! I don’t know how to change you back! You were the only… er… well… Pinkie. So I can’t exactly… I’m so confused right now.” She scratched her head, trying to come to grips with her situation.
“Relax Twilight, it’s no big deal! I’m sure you’ll think of something!” replied Pinkie, acting rather cheerful despite the severity of the situation. She continued to idly suck on her fingers, glancing down at her body again while Twilight tried to sort out her thoughts. Her body had turned completely see-through, every ounce of her body now consisting of gooey pink gelatin. And yet despite losing all of her organs, bones, and so forth, she remained as animate and aware as ever. Somehow. But, she was willing to accept “magic” as an explanation, for now.
Noticing that her clothes had also likely changed and melted into jello along with herself, she realized that she was, essentially, completely naked. A fact that hadn’t actually bothered her all that much, even considering she was in the close presence of her best friend. Pinkie could not help but be amazed by the sheer craziness of her overall situation, and giggled again.
“Heehee… Until you do think of something though,” she started to say, her curvy gelatinous form jiggling with excitement, “then I think I’ll be fine like this for a while. I mean, just imagine all the cool stuff I could do like this! I mean, come on! Once in a lifetime opportunity here, Twilight!” The pink jello-woman grinned rather mischievously as she thought of something else. “Ooooh… Think of all the new stuff you can learn about. It’s not like you’ll ever see a walking, talking, pile of jello shaped like a girl again after this, right? Heehee…”
For the first time, Twilight’s mind cleared just enough to make the realization that her friend was completely naked and translucent in front of her. A heavy cherry red blush spread across her cheek at the speed of light, growing ever deeper as she looked away, trying to take her mind off of the sight of Pinkie’s nude body. “I… Er… L-Learn about stuff. Yeah, that’s a thing we could do, I think. Heh…” Twilight took a nervous gulp, steadily trying to calm her nerves.
Pinkie tilted her head, picking up on her friend’s sudden change in tone and disposition instantly. “What’s up, Twi?” she asked curiously, taking a few steps closer to her friend and oblivious to why she was acting that way. “Your face almost looks like a strawberry. Hehe… Mmmm, strawberry…” The woman giggled and hummed at the imagined taste, licking her lips.
“Pinkie! You’re… I’m blushing because you’re naked!” Twilight looked away trying to cover her eyes. “And I’m trying to respect your privacy! Can you stop tasting yourself, please? It’s… weird!”
“Awww… But I taste reeeeeeally good,” Pinkie whined, pouting slightly. With a disappointed sigh, Pinkie decided to nevertheless oblige her friend’s wishes, removing her fingers from her mouth as she crossed her arms behind her. “Fine…”
Realizing how uncomfortable she must have been making her friend, guilt quickly set in, and she was just as quick to hopefully remedy the issue the way she knew best: a hug. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Twilight tightly, unintentionally smearing jello onto her friend as her technically-naked body pressed up against her, and still remaining oblivious to the fact.
Sighing softly, Twilight hugged Pinkie back, grimacing slightly. She blinked, noting how soft, squishy, and jiggly Pinkie now was, and how her clothes were now coating in a jello like slime. “It’s okay, Pinkie. I’m sorry, I just… Well, I think it’s understandable that I’m confused right now. And now I’m all dirty…” Twilight sighed again, trying to let go of her friend, only to realize that she was now stuck.
She tried to tug herself away to no avail, blushing as she stared at her friend. “Pinkie! I’m stuck, help me out!”
Pinkie blinked, and her eyes widened slightly as her clear-pink cheeks turned a few shades redder. “Oh, uh... okay! Sorry!” she stammered out, nodding quickly. She tried to let go of Twilight, but to her surprise and bewilderment, found that her arms were firmly glued around her friend's back and torso. She tried to lean backward and pull herself away, grunting from her exertion as her attempts to separate themselves bordered on comical. “Nnnngh...! W-wow, we really are stuck..."
Panting, the jello-bodied woman sucked in a deep breath, and started to pull away as hard as she could in a last-ditch effort. Just when she felt as if she would succeed however, the strong forces of suction finally won, and Pinkie's body snapped back together with Twilight's, getting even more stuck as the force of the impact knocked them both to the floor. “Ah! S-sorry! Again! I really didn't mean it, this time!” Stammering out more apologies, she tried to pull them apart once more, but to ultimately no avail as she groaned pitifully.
“Wait, this time? So you meant it last time?” Twilight blushed, noticing that her hands and legs were now slightly inside Pinkie, and her face just inches from Pinkie’s cleavage. “Oh. Oh my. Er…” Twilight activated her magic, trying to pull herself away. She even tried to teleport. But it only resulted in her getting further stuck or teleporting the pink woman with her.
“Ummmmm… not exactly? Maybe?” she responded in an innocent voice, grinning nervously as she blushed as well. The brief moment of awkwardness was rather quickly passed over as they went on with trying to separate themselves, but nothing seemed to make the situation any better. With their constant attempts to be free from the other clearly not panning out as well as they were hoping, Pinkie groaned with both annoyance and resignation and sighed, giving up the fight. “I don't think anything we can do is gonna work, Twi,” she admitted at last. “We're pretty darn stuck… Sorry, I… didn't think that would happen…”
Pinkie looked down at Twilight, biting her lip anxiously upon seeing her friend's limbs partially enveloped inside of her own goo-like limbs (which, for whatever reason, felt oddly pleasant and comfortable). She smiled with a hopeful aura, just as much meant to reassure herself as it was meant to reassure Twilight. “Hey, on the plus side,” she started to say, her smile widening into a somewhat-forced grin, “you know we're bestest friends, 'cuz we're... stickin' together like this, and all. Heehee.”
Twilight rolled her eyes, almost tempted to facepalm from the horrible pun before realizing she’d just stick her face to Pinkie’s hand. “Pinkie, that was just awful. And what are we going to do now? I can’t get out of you! Er… Off of you. Either way! And… Er… I’m in a really uncomfortable position…” She looked at Pinkie, unable to avoid her transparent breasts. Even when she turned her head to the side, she could still see them out of her peripheral vision.
The longer she was held in that position, the heavier her blush got. Knowing that she was stuck and that there was nothing she could do, she slowly started to feel the sensations flowing through her body. She noticed that Pinkie’s new body was smooth and malleable, but still retaining its shape.
