When Sombra wakes up in the Frozen North he is overjoyed to be free of the shadow that had corrupted his mind, however that feeling quickly turns to fear when he discovers the pony laying next to him.
A long time ago King Sombra created the Crystal Ponies, using a cloning spell he invented to make basic copies of a pony and then editing the copies until he had a new species. The Shadow had apparently used the same spell on one Twilight Sparkle, right before being destroyed.
Sombra is responsible for the clone's well being, and they will have to find a way out of the tundra themselves, since he cannot return the the Crystal Empire. He is determined to keep her safe, but will that be at the cost of himself.

Meanwhile Luna searches for her long lost friend, despite to find him before something else dose. But her sister is certain he will be fine, and that he will find his way back to her she need only wait.
