First Light (Not the first chapter)

I take my hand back, “Good morning, Ditzy. My name’s Winter. Winternight.” I look at her side, a large, gray, full saddlebag strapped around her barrel. “Are you the Mail mare?” I asked as I put my hands in my pocket.
Her smile widens and nods her head happily, “Uh, huh! I’ve been doing… um-what do you call it?” she tapped her fore hooves together as she pondered with a little frown. She lights up like a light bulb, “Oh! I’ve been sending and giving mails to ponies since I was very little! I started in flight school, then moved onto-” she continued to ramble on, on how she loved giving mails to other ponies, how she got into Ponyville mail service, then randomly started talking about her Unicorn daughter, Dinky Doo, in the middle of it all. “Oh, I love my little Muffin so-so much!” she hugged herself with a cheeky grin.
I chuckled, “I’m sure you do, Ditzy.” I took a brief look at the sky, “So… do you have any mail for Fluttershy?” I asked.
“Oh yeah! It’s in here somewhere.” She took off her saddlebag and started digging through it with both her hooves and head berried in the bag itself. With a perk of her wings, she looked up at me with a smile and had a letter being grasped by her lips. “Mm!” she muffled.
I chuckled and grabbed the letter, “Thank you very much, Ditzy.” I looked at the letter and saw it was for Fluttershy, “I’ll make sure Fluttershy sees this.” I said once more and ruffled her mane playfully.
She giggled and leaned against my hand, “Okay.” She said, gathered up the fallen letters on the ground with a swipe her of her wings and strapped her saddlebag back on with ease. She turns towards Ponyville with her wings spread and looked back at me with a smile, “Have a nice morning, friend.” She said before flying off.
I wave my hand at the adorable mare and chuckled to myself. “What a start for a morning.” I said to myself with a wide smile, remembering ‘playing’ with Shy pretty much the moment we woke up.
I walk myself back in the cottage and saw Fluttershy resting on the couch with Angel Bunny wrapped in her fore hooves, whispering something to little awestruck, blushing bunny and giddily giggled while ruffling her wings, both facing away from me.
I gently closed the door and tiptoed over with the letter at hand. Once Fluttershy giggled again, I snatched her up with an “Eep!” and flopped down onto the couch with Shy on my lap. I nuzzled into her mane and smiled at her sweet scent.
“Having a fine morning, I presume?” I asked and wrapped my arms around the mare
Fluttershy sighed in relief once she knew it was just me and sank into my embrace, “Mhm…” she nods and rubbed her cheek onto my right shoulder, “H-how about you?” she asked with a little blush.
“Every morning is great when I’m with you.” I answered and showed the letter in front of her, “You seem to have a letter as well.”
She looked at the letter for a moment before she said, “I wonder from whom?” she said and takes the letter into her hooves, and ripping it open with her teeth. She takes the letter out with the tips of her lips, unfolded it and starts swiveling her eyes onto the page while I nuzzled into her mane again. As I did, I could her heart beat rising with each passing second.
“What’s the matter?” I asked and started rubbing her side to try and assure and calm the mare.
“Um… th-the letter’s from my parents…” she stuttered and made and audible gulp, “A-and…” her body started to gently shack, “M-my mother heard o-of me ha-having a spe… special somepony…” she finished.
I peek out of her mane and looked at the letter, and quickly read through it, “Hm… well you do have me now, so you should reply. She sounds excited, if the hearts and smily faces are of any indication.” I said and thought a moment before I rested my chin on top of her head, “Where are they, anyways?” I asked.
“Um… Oh, they moved to Filly Delphia once I moved here in Ponyville. I visited them once there. It’s like… um… like Ponyville, but a little bigger, but not like Canterlot.” She answered.
“Hm.” I replied and looked down at her, “You think they’ll approve of me?” I asked once more.
She looked up at me, turned herself around with Angel still in her grasp and snuggled up to me with a happy sigh, “Even if they don’t… I’d still love, you. But they are very good ponies, so I think they’ll be happy to meet you.” She leans up and nuzzled my neck, causing me to chuckle.
“I hope so.” We stayed silent for a moment as Angel grumbled a little in his owners grasp. “So… you think we could go and see them?” I asked.
She looked up at me, “A-are you, sure? Um. I mean, it’s not exactly close by, like Canterlot.” She said and looked down at her little Angel, “And what about the animals?” she continued.
“Well, I’m sure Sapphire can take good care of your little friends just fine for a few days, and yes, I’m hundred percent sure about going. It’s only a matter of time before your parents would want to see me. Better to get it over with than wait for it to happen. But it’s your call, Shy.” I said and kissed the top of her forehead.
She was in thought while leaning against me for some time before she looked up at me, “Um… can I send a mail first? See if they like to see you?” she said.
“Of course, Shy. Take your time.” I said, but then a thought came to mind. I looked up at the ceiling before she spoke up.
“Are you okay, Winter?” her voice had a hint of concern.
I looked back down at her with a smile, “How about a little, short vacation to Filly Delphia, hm? Have a little fun while we’re there?” I said.
“Oh.” She pondered the thought for a moment till her lips curled to a small smile, “That actually sounds like fun.” She said and looked up at me with a better smile, “I guess we can.”
“Okay. So let’s see what your parents think, first. If they approve, we can start planning. Is that a plan?” I said and gently ran a hand on her right cheek.
She closed her eyes with a light coo in her voice, “That’s a plan.” she answered while leaning against my hand.
