Rainbow Power, or Rainbow Death?

Rainbow stood in front of the tree of harmony. Thinking back on the day she was born.

She lay in the middle of a large pool of rainbows, it was as big as a lake almost.

It was inside a large cave, the walls and ceiling dripping with rainbows and bright colors.

The filly Rainbow Dash lay there, looking around herself. She was smaller than a five year old filly, but not as small as pound or pumpkin. Whom did not exist at the time.

She heard a beautiful voice, smooth, strong, feminine, much like a beautiful singers voice.

"Hello, my little filly."

Rainbow tried to speak "h-h-heh-" she was straining to talk, not knowing how.

"Heh-lo"

The large voice chuckled "I am still unsure of what to name you"

Out of nowhere seemingly, streams of rainbows grew out of the pool and twisted and combined into each other to create a most beautiful mare.

An alicorn; her mane and tail flowing like celestias, but was more vibrant than Celestias; it was the same colors as Rainbow's mane.

Her spiral horn faded from white into rainbows as it traveled up her horn, her body, was spotted. Black and grey spots, some pink and brown along the way. Her eyes, the same colors as her mane and tail. Her stance was  taller than Celestias; almost as tall as queen galaxias stance.

Her cutie mark a gem in the middle of all 6 colors of the rainbow spiraling separately out of the crystal.

Dash looked up at the stunning mare before her. Her eyes wide with amazement, was this her mother?

The mare observed her latest creation, and smiled "I shall name you, Rainbow Dash."

Dash smiled "raiboo da!" She held her fore hooves out to hug her mom.

The mare smiled warmly and hugged her filly.

Rainbow continued to stare at the tree, she smiled huge and warm at her first memories.

"I miss her. I miss mom so much..." Her ears flopped down to the sides of her head as she looked down at the puddle of tears she just realized she'd created.

"DARN IT!! I HATE CRYING" she stomped a hoof to the ground

She remembered back to her filly hood growing up, before she even met anypony other than her mother

The filly stood proud and tall just outside the cave, in a soldier like position. Her gaze directed straight ahead. No where else.

The everfree forest surroundings where there and visible however the creatures outside the magical barrier were blocked off.

The tall mare stood in front of the filly, a stern, yet visibly sad, expression coated her face.

"Rainbow Jessica Dash, you are to tell no pony or other creature of my existence."

"Yes, Ma'am!"

"You are to claim you were abandoned by your parents"

"Yes, ma'am!"

"And, Do not, whatever you do, do NOT become close to being as powerful as an alicorn princess."

"Yes, ma'am! But, why ma'am?"

"Because you are already extremly powerful as it is, of you become more powerful, you could end up destroying everything with a single flick of your ear." A Tear rolled down the mares cheek. She didn't want to let her precious filly go.

Rainbow teared up, she didn't want to leave her mom. But whatever she needed to do for her, that was her job

"You must go because a filly can not simply stay in a cave the rest of her days, she must live somewhere! Meet somepony! And make friends!"

"So, what will happen to me if I get to powerful?"

The mare froze, she couldn't find words, she knew the answer to that question, but she wasn't ready to answer it, however she did anyways because Rainbow Dash needed to know and had a right to know. "You will die..."

The soon-to-be speedster gasped, her wings flared open.

Rainbow shook her head rapidly, realizing that if she stayed alive when she did become powerfuler, she would have to die.

"Yes ma'am"

"Now, I love you Rainbow, but you must go, now!"

She pointed hoof to the outskirts of the magic bubble, a doorway opening in it.

"Yes ma'am, I love you mommy, I won't forget you." She sobbed lightly as she made her way to the magical doorway.

The rainbow alicorn stayed firm until rainbow disappeared out of sight, then fell to the ground sobbing and wailing.

Rainbow sat on her haunches crying, her wings drooped down to the ground as a puddle of tears fell to the ground below her.

"I love you, mommy.." She lifted her head slightly, and then Dropping it again,

She snapped out of her day dream, shaking her head rapidly "no, I can't be to powerful. "She stood up and looked at her hooves

"Nah  I ain't THAT powerful. But that doesn't mean I'm not awesome! She flared her wings out, and puffed out here chest, a look of pride on her face.

"Yea, ain't getting killed any time soon."

She took off, flying towards the sky.

She flew over Twilights castle, then twirled around, diving head first towards the top of the castle.

She almost rammed her head into the top, then screeching at a halt last moment, then swooping down and landing on her front doormat.

She knocked

"Hello?" Twilight answered "oh! Hey Rainbow! What brings you here?"

"Eh, just needed some company."

"Alright!"

She lead the speedster up into the throne room, where sat all her friends

"Hey guys!" Dash smiled fakly

"Heya, Dash!" Applejack said sleepily

"Hello, Rainbow Dash" rarity yawned "how might you be?"

"Eh I'm fine. "

Fluttershy sat sleeping sitting up in her throne, sleeping silently.

Pinkie sat there wide eyed as always.

Spike was sleeping in his throne as well.

Discord slept in a ball in the back corner, snoring loudly.

"Uhhh, ya know what? Never mind, I'm gonna sleep in my house."

"Well alright then." Twilight answered.

Pinkie nodded " ok, Dashie!"

Dash grinned before flying out the window.
