The Demon Summoned
Chapter I: The Summoning
Load Full StoryThe crumbling underground runes shook from a distant blast from somewhere deep within it's catacombs. The robed and hooded equine looked over its wither briefly before it looked forward to watch as several other robed ponies finished preparing the dimly lit room for the ritual.
Many each carried a bowl overflowed with blood from the many mutilated animal corpses nearby, they used the dark liquid to draw a complex circular seal upon the floor. Others placed additional candles around the room to help illuminate the room further.
The screams and shouts of battle grew in volume yet went ignored as the equine patiently awaited the ritual preparations completion.
Finally, the ponies gave a series of nods to indicate their task done. With a smile the equine stepped towards the edge of seal before the doors flew from their rusted hinges to crash against the wall opposite. Standing there, in all her glory, was the infernal Sun Queen and her fellow ilk.
Celestia, a towering ivory horse like pony with a translucent multi coloured mane that seemed to flow in a non-existent wind. She was an Alicorn, a being baring both horn and wings.
There she stood, her usual regalia missing bar her crown. Behind her stood two other like her, each of various heights.
Her sister Luna, similar to her in every way bar a few details. Her colour was that of a dark blue night sky. Her mane was also dark, filled with the flickering lights of the stars.
A third, Twilight, stood beside Luna. A lavender mare, shorter then the rest. Her mane was purple with a lavender strip that hung loosely.
“Stand down, you know not what you are about to unleash!” shouted Luna as they stepped into the room.
The group of robed ponies blocked their way, halting their advance.
“I know what I am doing,” said the equine in a low, even, yet masculine voice, “soon I will call upon the most ruthless demon there ever was, I will use it's power to destroy the Alicorn masters and free the world from their tyranny, your tyranny. I will restore the sun, moon, and the world to how it was truly meant to be.”
Celestia stepped forward, a look of disappointment barely visibly upon her face as her gaze took in the grotesque sight around her.
“We dedicate our lives to ensure our subjects survival, we listen to their pleas, fight for them when they cannot, how are we tyrants?”
The equine kept his back to the Alicorn's as he replied in the same even tone as before. “You have bound the sun and moon to your wills. No one will challenge you, no one will resist for you can end the world on a whim.” he shifted in place, “You've conditioned your subjects to love and cherish you as though you were a god, making no effort to thwart those delusions. And finally, those who do not conform to your image of perfection are condemned.”
“What do you mean; condemned?” Demanded a furious Luna.
The equine looked over his wither to regard her, his face hidden beneath the hood. “My dear Luna, you should know. She cast you out of the world then, when you returned,” his gaze shifted to Twilight, “she had her pet alter your mind, stripping you of you and replacing it with one that fit the image of harmony as they see it.” His gaze returned to the seal.
A heavy silence fell over the room the only sounds were from the distant battles deep within the runes. Each mare were stunned at the accusations thrown at them yet through this silence they heard the familiar hum of powerful magic concentrated in one location. With the argument briefly forgotten the three mares sprung into battle. They swiftly defeated the robed ponies only to feel a pulse of power from the now glowing seal.
“And with this, Equestria shall fall, and Equees shall be freed.”
A pillar of bright light shot up from the seal, dark miasma flowed from the base and coated the floor in a dark haze.
As quickly as it came, the light vanished. There stood a biped creature with pale, smooth skin void of fur bar its head which contained a brow above each eye and a long length of dark hair that fell to the floor, the true length hidden by the thin layer of miasma and the lack of light. It wore a white shirt, the upper button unfastened, and a pair of black trousers. It was the most feared creature in existence, a being of immense power and sharp cunning; Tiffany, the Homo Sapien.
Tiffany was a bit confused, it had been centuries since she was last forcefully summoned to any world and was pretty sure that her spell was forgotten. She was also worried as she left the water running, also a tad annoyed as she was about to sit down to lunch.
She looked around to see a rather disturbing sight, or what little she could see in the poorly lit room. A room filled with the carcasses of many animals and her seal drawn in blood beneath her feet.
“Oh great demon, Tiffany,” she turned her gaze to a small hooded horse that stood before her, “by the impure bonds that bind us, I command you, slaughter these filthy creatures.”
She looked up as the tiny horse pointed further into the room. She barely made out three horses, one a little taller then herself, as they tensed up. She blinked as something clicked and returned her gaze to the tiny horse.
“I'm sorry, what?”
There was a brief silence as all parties stared at her. She also noticed the weakening sounds of combat.
“I command you to kill the Alicorn's.” Demanded Tiny. “I summoned you and as such you are to serve my will!”
Tiffany simply stared, “Seriously?”
Tiny gave a nod in response.
She noticed a strange tingling sensation upon her skin, she looked at her arms to see a pinkish glow try to grasp her. She looked towards a similar glow further back in the room and saw the smallest of the three try and cast a spell on her.
With a sigh she shook her head before she looked back at Tiny, then back to the tallest of the three Alicorn's who was now trying to calm the smallest. “Celestia?”
The Alicorn's each looked taken back with surprise. “Yes?” Came the eventual reply.
“Ah, I see.” she turned to Tiny. “What the heck makes you think you can command me?”
The tiny horse stuttered briefly before he replied with anger. “I cast the summoning spell, by answering my summons you are bound by contract to do my bidding!”
She paused briefly before saying, “I see, so you want me to kill them.”
“Yes.”
“And?”
“And return the sun, moon, and the planet itself back to how it should be.”
She raised a brow. “And?”
“And destroy Equestria and its allies.” She noted the sudden hostile stance of the three mares in her peripheral vision. “Free the world through slaughter.”
She looked to the three mares, then to Tiny. “Screw that.”
With a poof of smoke she was gone.
Celestia stood still, her brain having to restart after that brief and bizarre encounter with the most evil of creatures.
With a shake of her head she turned to see a squad of her guards enter the room.
“Princess, are you all right?” Asked on of her guards.
“Yes, yes I am, apprehend these ponies and escort them to the castle Dungeons.
Celestia watched as the equine summoner was arrested and brought away without any resistance. She noted a few more of her guards had arrived.
“Everypony, send word to the others, we have won.”
Celestia turned back to her sister and her former student. The three couldn't find appropriate words for the encounter so instead the stood in dumbfounded silence.
