Destiny: Equestrian Guardians
Author's Note
I've written this one-shot story as a tribute to Destiny. I originally wanted to release on the day it was launched, but certain things have prevented me from doing it on time.(Writer's block, laziness, and the actual game itself.) It's a little late, but as the saying goes, better late then never. So here it is, hope you enjoy it.
Story
Inside an ancient ruin building, three Guardians are engage in combat with a large group of Griffon warriors. Among their ranks are the low ranking Dregs, the higher ranking Vandals, and a couple of floating drones called Shanks. Leading this pack is a two swords wielded Griffon Captain that is currently trying to kill an orange color Titan.
The orange Titan is name Applejack and she is having a hard time fighting this alien. Griffon Captains was known to get close up and personal with their opponents, preferring to fight the way their ancient ancestor did. Now this wouldn't be a problem because since it just make them easier targets. However, because of their energy shielding, it was almost impossible to take it down with small firearms.
Normally she should have had her two teammates help her out, but they were too busy dealing with the rest of the Griffon forces. Behind her, both a purple Warlock and a blue Hunter are shooting at the Griffons from the safety of their covers.
Back to Applejack the mare evaded another swipe from the Captain's sword. She return fire by blasting him with her Pulse Rifle, but his shield absorbed the blow. The Captain took another swipe, this time actually hitting her. Fortunately her own energy shield took the damage, unfortunately the attack depleted her shield, leaving her vulnerable to attack.
She needed to find cover so that her shield will recharge. To bad the Captain got her to a wall and was about to finish her off. Reacting quickly she toss a flash grenade right in his face. The resulting bright blast blinded both the Captain and the Titan. She knew that she would be blinded, but hoped this would buy her enough time for her shield to recharge.
Soon enough her vision was starting to return. Thankfully she was the first to recover as the Captain was still disoriented. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity, she swap out her shotgun and began blasting the Griffon at point-bank range.
Each shot hits its mark and even though the Captain had strong shield, it couldn't last long against this kind of weapon. When the last shotgun shell hits the Griffon, his shield shattered, leaving him expose. Applejack charge right the Griffon and punch him hard, right in his chest.
The attack pushed back, disintegrating the Griffon Captain right before her eyes.
With her opponent gone, Applejack regroup back with her two teammates. She took cover next to the purple Warlock, taking potshots at the now leaderless Griffons.
“Hey Twilight, is yer little Ghost buddy finished with the downloading yet?” Applejack asked her Warlock friend.
“I don't know let me check.” Twilight turn her head around and spots the purple and green Ghost shooting a continuing green beam at the old computer console. “Spike, are you done downloading?”
“51% downloaded, Twilight!” The little A.I. Construct responded.
“There you go.” Twilight said and went back to firing at the Griffons with her Scout Rifle.
“Hey Dash! How are you holding up?” Applejack question the blue Hunter.
“Pretty good.” She answers as she fired three shots from her Hand Cannon. The first shot blew a Vandal's head off. The second and third shot both hit a single Vandal, killing him instantly.
The three Guardians continue to hold their ground against the Griffons, who were slowly losing numbers. Applejack notices the majority of them bunching up together. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to use her Fist of Havoc ability, the mare toss a flash grenade at them. The blast blinded and disoriented the group of Griffons, making them not see the orange Titan running toward them. Once she was near, Applejack leap forward with both fist glowing blue and struck the ground. The shockwave knock all Griffons back, disintegrating some of them.
When the dust cleared, all that was left standing was the orange Titan. The Dregs, Vandals, and Shanks lay defeated around her metallic boots.. “Damn AJ, that was awesome!” Dash complimented her friend as she hopped over her cover.
“Nah, that was nothing.” Applejack said modestly. “You should've see me on my last mission. Took down a Devil Walker all by myself.”
“Oh that is complete bull, there is no way you can take down a Devil Walker all by yourself!”
“You calling me a liar, Dash?”
“Yeah I'm calling you a liar!” Dash retorted.
“Oh why I outta-”
“Hey if you two are done talking, we still have one more Griffon to deal with!” Twilight shouted from the safety of her cover.
“What are you talking about Twi, we beat them all!” Applejack yelled at her friend.
“Then what about him?” The Warlock pointed to something behind the duo. Both mare turn around and saw a large Griffon Captain, towering over the two shorter Guardians.
“Oh sh-” Before Dash can finish that word, the Griffon shot her with his gun, blasting the blue Hunter to a wall. The Griffon then swat Applejack away with his talon. He then aim his weapon at the down Titan before getting a shot to the head.
From afar Twilight repeatedly fire round after round at the large Captain's head. While the damage was significant, it wasn't enough to kill him. The Captain now focuses his weapon at the little purple Warlock, allowing her teammates to sneak away.
Once they gain their bearings, the two mares began firing at the large Griffon Captain. Their combined attacks was chipping away at his armor, but the process was going too slow.
Applejack fire off a few shots before returning to cover and reload her Pulse Rifle.”Hey AJ!” Dash yelled from her cover. “Why don't you show this guy some of your amazing skills!”
“Kind of busy here, Dash.” Applejack answered back as she shoved a magazine clip into her rifle.
“What's wrong? You took down a Devil Walker by yourself, so this guy should a piece of cake for you!”
“Dash, are you really doing this?” Applejack question angrily.
“What? I'm just saying, if you defeated a Devil Walker, then obviously this guy won't be a problem for you.” The Hunter replied back.
“Fine! You want to see some of my skills, then here it is!” Applejack pop out of cover, wielding a large machine gun. She squeezed the trigger and let out a stream of bullet onto the Griffon's back. The Captain felt the bullets hitting him and turn to face who was shooting him. He spots the mare with the machine gun and a fire his weapon at her. She evaded the attack while also throwing something at him.
That something turns out to be her flash grenade. The grenade blew up right in front of his face. With the Griffon disoriented, Applejack rushed in and activated her Storm Fist ability. She punch the Griffon in the knee, causing him to drop down, now on the same height as the orange Titan. Applejack pull out her shotgun and proceeded to unload onto him. Despite being blind, the Griffon can still feel the shots he was getting and swatted his talon at the mare. She jump back and took out here Pulse Rifle and begin shooting up his face. Having enough of this, the Captain lift his weapon up and fire in her general direction. Before the projectile could hit her, the mare use her lift ability and hover above her opponent. Applejack then activate her Fist of Havoc and aim it down at the Griffon Captain. The resulting attack obliterated the Captain, leaving nothing behind.
“How you like that, Dash?” Applejack gloat to her Hunter friend as she dusted herself clean. Dash was shocked at what she just seen. She wasn't sure whether or not she should be amaze or jealous for her friend. She chose to remain silent, but her silence was all Applejack needed to know how her friend feels.
“Guardians, I have completed downloading data from this old console” Spike announced.
“Oh good, then that means we're done here.” Applejack said happily.
“What are talking about, Applejack? We still got two more console to download.” Twilight pointed out.
“But, Spike said he downloaded it all.”
“Yes, but only one third of it. We still have two more consoles to find and download.”
The Applejack sighs. “It's never just one, is there?”
“Of course, otherwise this would be a very short mission.” Twilight counter. “OK Spike lead the way.” The little A.I. Constructed floated off, leading the three Guardians to their next destination.
A few minutes later, Spike lead the three Guardians to another ancient ruin. However, when the group got closer, the sound of guns can be heard inside. The three carefully sneak in and found the cause of this commotion. There was a firefight between two alien race, the Griffons and the Minotaurs.
The two opposing forces are currently fighting each other, the Griffons have the advantage of having more warriors then the Minotaurs. Despite their advantage the Minotaurs were still fairing well in this battle. Their species are big and tough, just a small group of them can be devastating.
“Damn look at them go.” Dash commented on the fight.
“Yeah, them bulls are really holding their own against those varmints.” Applejack added in.
While the two were enjoying the show. Twilight had spike scan the battlefield for their objective. The A.I. Construct scanned the field with his little green eye. It took him a couple of seconds before he found it. “There it is, behind the Griffon line.” He pointed his beam at a old console.
“Good work, Spike. You did a great job.”
“Well I'm not your number one assistance for nothing, Twilight” The Ghost said proudly.
“Alright girls listen up, the console is down there, behind those Griffons. I suggest we sneak down there and download the content from that console while those two are busy fighting with each other.”
“Wait Twilight, can't we just lay here and wait for the two sides to wipe each other out.?” Applejack suggested.
Twilight put her hand under her chin and though about it. “Well I guess we could do that, but who knows how long that will take or even if they'll wipe each other out.”
“Hey how about we go with option three?” Both Applejack and Twilight turn to Dash who was now holding a rocket launcher.
“Dash, what in tarnation are you doing?” Applejack shockingly questioned.
“How about instead, we catch them by surprise and attack them.” Dash answered.
“Dash, that plan is dumb.” Applejack criticize. “There's way too many for them down there.”
“That is why I suggest we attack them all with our heavy weapons. Take out as many as we can before they can react to us.” Dash retorted.
“No, we're not doing that.”
Just as Dash was about to respond, an energy blast hit near their position. “Jeez, you see that! They already know we're here!” The mare then aim her rocket launcher at the enemies below.
Twilight look down and saw that the blast came from a dead Minotaur Legionary. The Legionary accidentally fire a shot in their direction when he died. “Dash! Wait don't-” Twilight was too late, Dash fire her rocket and blew up a group of Griffons.
Dash changed to her hand cannon and jump down. “Darn that girl, Twilight you go deal with the computer console and I'll cover Dash!” The two split up and Applejack fire off a few shots from her Pulse Rifle, taking down a group of Dregs.
The blue Hunter took down a couple of Griffons with her hand cannon before switching over to her Fusion Rifle. Charging up her weapon, the rifle fire off a burst of electricity that electrocuted a Griffon Vandal. She does the same thing to the next four Griffons before reloading.
The Griffons were being attacked on both sides. One with the Minotaurs and one with the two Guardians. The lower ranking Griffons wanted to retreat, but their Captain refuse to back off and push his forces on the attack.
Applejack finally caught up with her belligerent friend, who was reloading behind cover. “You just had to make things more harder then it should be.” She scolded her.
“Hey those punks try to shoot us, I'm not going to let that slide.” She said as she pop out and fire a few shots. “Besides this way more fun then to just sneak around.”
She couldn't see it, but Applejack rolled her eyes under her helmet. Since they were already in this firefight, she might as well enjoy it. The Titan pop out and fire a couple of burst shots at some Dregs before ducking.
With the Griffon forces dwindling, the Minotaurs figure it was time to go on the offensive. The Phalanx Minotaurs walked ahead of their group, carrying large shields. The Legionaries and Centurions stayed behind them, using their shield wielding brethren as cover.
Slowly the Griffon fell one by one. Soon it was only a small handful of them left. Their Captain kept on ordering them to attack, undeterred by the death of his own warriors. While in a middle of giving his command he was shot down by both the two Guardians. After seeing their Leader die before them, the remaining Griffons turn tail and flew away.
With them gone, the Minotaurs turn their attention to the new targets, the two armored mares. They began blasting them with their large guns. Both Guardians took cover from the onslaught of blasters. “Darn it, how the hell are we going to beat these fellas?” Applejack asked her partner.
Dash took a peak over her cover and saw the Minotaurs slowly encroaching to their position. “AJ, toss a flash grenade at them!” She yelled to her friend. Applejack did what she said and toss a flash grenade in front of the group of Minotaurs.
The grenade blinded and disoriented them, allowing Dash an opening she needed. The Hunter jumped out of cover and threw a arcbolt grenade in the middle of group. The grenade shot out a lightning bolt that struck one Minotaur and then pass it onto the next one. This chain of lightning hits everyone in the group. Seeing how they were weakened, Dash took out her rocket launcher and finish them off. The missile left its metallic tube and struck the group of Minotaurs.
“What do you think of that, AJ?” Dash ask, full of pride.
“Dash, watch out, it's a colossus!”
Upon hearing that name, Dash swiftly spun around and saw the big Minotaur Colossus. This guy was holding a gatling like weapon in his hands and he was pointing it at the blue Hunter. Dash knew that she had only a few seconds before his weapon begins to fire. She made a mad dash to where her friend was, her ears can already hear the gun rotating. Dash hopped over the cover, just as the Colossus's weapon starts to fire. He unleash a hailstorm of energy bolts on the cover they were hiding behind. He kept on firing, pinning the two down.
Suddenly he was interrupted from his assault when someone fired a few rounds into his head. The Colossus turn to find the source of the attack. He caught the sight of a purple Warlock, wielding a sniper rifle. Twilight fire another round into his head, in response the Minotaur Colossus launch a barrage of guided missiles at her.
The Colossus saw the Guardian evading the missiles by taking cover behind a large rock. Before he can do anything else, he felt a surge of electricity coursing through his body. Turning around again, he sees the Hunter, charging her Fusion Rifle at him. Her weapon burst out another stream of electricity, which shock him even more.
The Colossus aimed his main weapon at her again. But, in a blink of an eye, the Hunter teleported right in front of him and stab him with her knife. As painful as it was, it's nearly not enough to kill the large Minotaur warrior. He was about to knock her away, until she jumped up over him and landed on the other side. While jumping, the Colossus saw her blade glowing and knew what it was. The Hunter repeatedly slash and stab the Minotaur's back, sending jolts of electricity into him. With one final stab she thrust the small blade into his back and twisted the blade, killing him.
Dash pulled her knife out of the Minotaur, which then drop down onto the ground. “What do you think of that, AJ?” Dash boasted.
“Not bad, but he was certainly no Devil Walker.” Applejack replied.
“Oh, screw you and your Devil Walker.” Dash said. “I'm still not buying that you managed to take down a Devil Walker all by yourself.”
“Whether you believe me or not doesn't really matter. I know I defeated that Devil Walker and got the scars to show for it.”
While the two argue with each other, they were unaware of Twilight walking towards them. “Hey girls!” She yell, gaining their attention. “Spike, finished downloading the data. We can now go onto our third and last console.”
“Great, finally we're almost done.” Applejack said, sounding relief. “I just hope nothing will be waiting for us there.”
“Ooh, you shouldn't have said that AJ.”
“Why not Dash?”
“Because you just jinxed us.”
“So this is the place huh?” Applejack asked. The three Guardians and Ghost stood in front of a dark and dirty staircase leading down. The pitch black darkness obscured what was down at the bottom of these steps
“According to my scanner, yes this is the way.” Spike answered.
“And yer sure this console is down there?” She asked again.
“My scans never fail me before.” He replied.
“What's wrong Applejack? Afraid of the dark?” Dash joked.
“No, just something hiding in the darkness.”
“C'mon Applejack, we're almost done our mission.” Twilight said. “Don't worry we'll have each others back down there.”
The Titan mare nodded her head and descended down the stair with her two friends. As they walk down the old decaying steps, Applejack felt a sense of dread surrounding her. It as if she was entering a zone that homes the darkness. When they reach the bottom it was pitch black, the three can barely see anything in front of them.
“Spike, give us some light here.” Twilight order her Ghost. Spike materialize next to the purple Warlock and shine a bright light ahead of them. “Lead the way, Spike.”
The three Guardians follow the little construct through this darkened place. They pass through many doors, corridors, and rooms. The purpose of this facility was lost in time, serving now as a home for those who lurks in the shadows.
“We're almost near our destination.” Twilight inform her two teammates. They react by gripping their firearms firmly and kept their senses sharp.
The Ghost lead the group to an open room. The only thing visible was a platform in the middle, anything beyond that, was shrouded in darkness. Standing alone on the platform was their objective, a computer console.
“Well there it is.” Twilight pointed. “Just standing out in the open.”
“Does this seem like a trap to you guys?” Dash questioned.
“Eeyup.” Applejack answered back.
“Trap or no trap my Ghost needs to download the content of that console into himself.” Twilight then start to walk toward the metal platform. “Are you girls, with me or not?”
“Of course we're with ya, Twi.” Applejack answer, she then follow after her.
“Yeah Twilight, we're your best buds, we got your back.” Dash did the same thing and follow her purple friend to the console.
“Thanks girls.” Twilight smile under her helmet. She immediately drop it so she can focus on the task at hand. “Spike, began downloading.”
“I'm on it.” Spike floated to the console and began accessing it. The green beam shot out of his eye and the downloading process begin. Already Spike can feeling the new data being added into him.
While he was doing that, Twilight and her two friends prepare themselves. They stood on guard, waiting for whatever was hiding in the darkness to come out. Twilight checked her motion sensor, but found nothing coming.
“Applejack, Dash, does your motion sensors read anything?”
“Nope.”
“Got nothing.” Dash added.
“Hmm, stay vigilant girls.” Twilight advise, returning to stare at nothing.
Minutes pass by and no sign of anything. Normally she would be glad that there was no enemies, but Twilight knew better then that. They were here, watching them, the only question is why haven't they attack yet. Her wish came true as her motion sensor immediately pick something up.
“Hey Twi, I got something!”
“Me too!”
“I know girls, they're coming.” All three Guardians aim their guns and waited.
Out from the shadows a black bipedal insect like creature came out. The creature was covered in scars and bruises. There a stub on his head where his horn use to be. The black creature snarled, calling the rest of his brothers to come out.
“It's the Changelings!” Twilight shouted. The Changelings or Hive as they called themselves are another alien race that has invaded their system. The Changelings they are fighting are called Thralls. They were basically Changelings from other colonies that were captured and turn into their slave soldiers. Their horns and wings are cut off and they were beaten harshly. Shadows of their former selves, the Thralls now serve as cannon fodders to the Hive.
The Changeling Thralls all charge at the three Guardians. They responded by blasting them with their superior firepower. Twilight shot a couple of them with her scout rifle, before tossing a vortex grenade to buy her time to reload. Her grenade explode, killing any Thralls near it. The blast creates a vortex which continues to damage anyone near it for a few seconds.
Pulling the cocking handle back and letting go, Twilight return back to firing her rifle at the swarming Thralls. During the fight her eyes caught something else leaving the shadows. Instead of Thralls, it was the Acolytes. Unlike the Thralls, the Acolytes wore armor and wielded guns.
Switching to her sniper rifle, Twilight head shot one of them. They in turn return fire, pinning her down. The Thralls were still coming and with her pinned they were going to be overwhelmed. “Applejack! Dash! The Acolytes are here!”
“Yeah we already know!” Dash yelled as she shot down a Thrall that came running toward her.
“How are we gonna deal them?” Applejack questioned.
Twilight tried to think of a solution, but was having a hard time thinking with all these Thralls charging in. She just wish she had some explosives to take care of them. Then the idea hits her, she knows what to do.
“Hey Dash, do you still have any missiles left in your launcher?”
“Just a couple, Twilight, why?”
Instead of answering she pointed to group of Acolytes. Dash understood what she means and took out her rocket launcher. She aim down with her weapon's sight and fired. The missile flew to where the Acolytes were and blew them all away. Next Dash repeat the same things to the next few groups of Acolytes.
Once they were all gone, the Thralls stopped coming. Leaving the once noisy battle, dead silent. The three Guardians looked around, finding nothing but dead Changeling bodies.
“Did we did it? Did we really beat them back?” Dash asked.
“Looks like it.” Applejack said. “Them bugs must have turn tail when they saw us destroying them.”
“Spike, how far are you done?” Twilight ask her Ghost.
“89% downloaded.” He answered.
“Alright we're in the clear!” Dash cheered.
“We're not done yet, Dash.” Twilight then point her finger at something ahead. “Look.”
Coming out of the darkness, two large Changelings walked out. They looked like Acolytes, but with much more heavier armor. One of them wielded a big sword, while the second one wielded a cannon.
“Oh great Knights, just what we needed.” Applejack sarcastically said.
“Don't worry I got this!” Dash aimed her rocket launcher at the two Knights and fired. The missile flew out and was speeding towards the two. Just as it was about to hit them, both Knights generate a shadowy shield in front of them. Their shield took the blast, protecting the both of them.
“Well crap, that was my last missile.” Dash said.
“Take cover!” Twilight ordered and all three Guardians took cover behind some chest high walls. Just in time too, the Knight with the cannon began bombarding them with his weapon. Meanwhile, his partner with the sword was walking towards them.
The Changeling Knight jumped over their cover and swing his sword down on the purple Warlock. Twilight barely dodge the attack, but tripped in the process. She flip over and saw the knight raising his sword up, planning to bring the blade down onto her. Before he can do this, both Dash and Applejack shot the large armored Changeling.
Twilight quickly move to new position, but not before leaving a vortex grenade behind. She move into a new cover, just as the grenade set off, creating a vortex that continues to damage the Knight. If this were any other enemy, they would've die. However, this wasn't any other enemy. The Knight's thick armor protected him, he walk out of the vortex lightly damaged.
Twilight saw the knight coming for her again. She turn to see her friend for help, but they are being pinned down by the Knight with the cannon. She was on her own.
The Knight swung his sword again and Twilight evaded it. She then pull out her Scout Rifle and starts shooting him. Her shot were doing damage, but the Knight' armor made them insignificant. Changing weapon, Twilight fire her Sniper Rifle at the Knight, doing more damage. But, the weapon's slow rate of fire was taking a lot of time, time she seems to be running out.
Pushed to a wall, the Knight though he finally have her. Raising the sword up again, he hastily swung it down. Just as his blade was about to hit her, she jump up and launch a Nova Bomb at him. The little ball of void light disintegrated the Knight, leaving nothing behind.
Now that he was dealt with, she can now help her friends deal with the second Knight. Aiming down the scope of her Sniper Rifle, she joined her friends in shooting at the Knight. Applejack fired from her Pulse Rifle while Dash fire her Hand Cannon, their combine firepower overpower the Knight, dwindling his armor to nothing. Finally with one last blast, the Knight was taken down.
The three lower their weapons and took a breather. “Man, that was exhausting.”Said Dash. “Thought that guys will never go down.”
“You can say that again, Dash.” Applejack replied.
“Well thank goodness, this is the last one. Now we can finally go back to the Tower.” Twilight remark.
Just after she said that, her Ghost floated next to her. “Twilight, I have completed downloading the data from the console. This mission is a success!” He announce with delight.
“Good, now lets go back to our jumpships and head home.” The three Guardians activated their beacons which is sent to their ships, hovering in orbit. Their ships receive their signal and teleported them up. Twilight was teleported into her light brown Kestrel class ship, Dash was teleported on board her yellow and blue Phaeton class ship, and Applejack was teleported onto her reddish orange Regulus class ship.
Twilight was the lead ship, with Dash's ship behind her and Applejack behind Dash. Twilight set coordinates to the Tower and all three went into slipspace. The three jumpships travel a long wormhole, leading them to their destination.
They dropped out of slipspace and found themselves hovering above a planet, Equus, their home. They flew to where the a large white orb float above the last city of their race. When they were in range they lock onto the Tower's location and teleported themselves there.
The three were transported to the Tower Plaza. Looking around they can see the place was busy with activities. Other Guardians were visiting the local vendors to either shop or sell their stuff. The three mares took their helmets off, letting the cool wind touch their heads. With their helmets off we can now see what they look like. Twilight has a palish blue skin, contrast to her more colorful dark purple hair. Her white eyes turned to see her comrades. Dash was an Exo with sky blue metal face with hot pink optics. Applejack was the only pony here. While Twilight herself was an Awoken, Applejack was still a just your regular earth pony. The sun shine on her orange face, revealing the white freckles on her cheeks. The wind blew her long blond hair as she cover her emerald eyes from the bright sun.
“Alright girls let all do our own business and meet up here once we're done.” Said Twilight.
“Well if guys want to find me, I'll be at the Tower Hangar.” Dash said before leaving.
“Yeah Twi, if you want me, I'll be at the Hall of Guardians.”
Twilight watch as Applejack walk away. “Well Spike, looks like it just you and me now.” She said to her A.I. Companion. “What's on my to do list?”
Spike then materialize next to her. “Well the first thing on your list is to deliver something to your brother, then you got to turn in your bounties.
“Very well let's go meet Postmaster Derpy 55-30.” Twilight and Spike move through the Plaza, passing through many other Guardians. She pass some who were shopping, talking, sitting and even some dancing.
She approach a grey robot with a single yellow optic on her head.”Hey Derpy.” Twilight greeted.
“Oh hiya Twilight!” The machine said with cheerful voice.” How can I help you?”
“Can you deliver this to my brother, his name is Shining Armor.” Twilight handed the robot a small package.
“Can do.” Derpy responded, and took the package With that done, Twilight proceeded to go onto the next thing on the list.
She walk up to a another robot, this one managing all the bounties. The Bounty Tracker saw her coming and wave at her. “Hello Twilight.” He said with a soft voice. “Here to turn in your bounties?”
“That's right.” She replied. Twilight then give the robot all the completed bounties she done.
“Oh by the way, while you were gone, some new bounties have been posted.” The robot inform.
“Alright let me see them.” The Bounty Tracker opened a list of new bounties for her. Twilight read the new bounties and raise an eyebrow. “What's the Iron Banner?” She questioned.
“It's a event happening in at the Crucible. Lord Iron Banner is challenging Guardians to participate in his event, He wants to see you guys show off your skills in the arena. He'll reward those who proves their mantle in the arena.”
“Rewards, huh.” Twilight said, sounding intrigued. “Alright then give me some of those bounties, I got an event to go to.”
An hour later, Twilight was standing by herself in the Plaza. She was awaiting for the return of her two friends. Her ears caught the sound of foot steps behind her, so she twisted her head around. She spots Dash coming towards her.
“Hey Twilight, I'm back from my thing.” She said.
“What were you doing?”
“Nothing much, just getting a new paint job on my Shrike.” She answered. “What were you doing the entire time?”
“Well-”
“Hey sugarcubes!”
Twilight and Dash turn their heads in the direction of the voice. Their eyes widen at what they saw, Applejack in a new pair of armor.
She still have the orange color, but this time with some green and brown details. The new armored Titan walk up to her friend, showing off her new apparel.
“Wow, AJ where did you get that stuff?”
“Got them at the Hall of Guardians, Dash.” She answered. “I went to Commander Hurricane and bought me some new Titan armor, so what do you think?”
“I think you look awesome!” Dash complimented.
“What does it your new armor do?” Twilight asked.
“Well besides giving me better defenses, my chest piece grant more ammo, my gauntlet grants me stronger punches, and my leg gives a agility boost.” Applejack showed off each of her armor piece.
“Well since you're here, I can finally tell you guys what we're going to do next.” Twilight showed a poster of the Iron Banner to them.
“What's the Iron Banner?” Dash questioned.
“It's a limited event held at the Crucible, Lord Iron Banner himself will reward us for participating in his event.” Twilight answered.
“Aw man the Crucible!” Dash said with disdain.
“What's wrong?”
“Every time I go to the Crucible, I'm always teamed up with the losing team. Those guy can never stop dying, and they never do the objective!” Dash said angrily.
“Now don't you worry about that partner.” Applejack assured. “You'll have us on yer side.”
“Yeah also Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy will be with us as well.” Twilight added.
“Whoa, they're here too?”
“Yeah, I called them earlier and they said they'll be waiting for us at the Crucible.”Twilight turn to face Dash. “So are you in, Dash?”
Dash though about for moment, before answering. “Yeah sure, at least with you guys there, it will be much more bearable.”
Applejack then slap her back. “That's the spirit Dash!”
The three then activate their beacon, in which their ship detect and transport them on board. They will then spend the rest of the day, fighting in the Crucible games.
