prologue
Luna looked outside her balcony windows, and saw the ponies of Equestria sleeping in their houses and beds. But what she thought was scary was the fact that some buildings were falling down and children were sleeping inside! Some other children were living in cardboard tents! She was scared that Timberwolves were going to come and nab some of those foals! In the morning, she was going to talk to her sister.
"Sister? Sister, where art thou? I need to talk with thee!" Luna shouted in the garden the next morning. She was a little ticked off that some foals down in the village were living in the streets and in unsafe houses. "Luna, what are you doing awake? You should be asleep now!" Celestia called down to her sister from her balcony.
"Sister, I am trying to tell you something of utmost importance. There are foals in the village that are living in unsafe housing and others in cardboard tents! Does thou think it wise to let foals live where Timberwolves would be able to nab them, or step on them?! I do not think so! Tonight I am going into the village to take these abandoned foals to a new home where they would be taken care of." Luna declared.
"And where," Celestia argued, "will you take the foals? You can't just go and take them in the night! Tonight, I will put a force field around your balcony, so you cannot take those foals away!" Luna was outraged! She was trying to save those foals, and her sister forbade it?! That was not right!
"YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT THOSE FOALS, DO YOU?! I AM GOING TO SAVE THOSE FOALS FROM GETTING KILLED BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT HELP THEM, AND THAT IS FINAL!!!" Luna bellowed.
And she did.
Later that night, Luna took down her sister's force field to go and save those foals with a song. "Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of enchantment," she sang, "Come little children, the time's come to play, here in my garden of shadows."
Luna sang melodiously on, "Follow sweet children, I'll show thee the way, through all the pain, and the sorrows. Weep not poor children, for life is this way, murdering beauty, and passions. Hush now dear children, it must be this way, to weary of life, and deceptions. Rest now my children, for soon we'll away, into the calm, and the quiet."
Twelve foals, 6 fillies and 6 colts, rose out of their windows and makeshift tents and into the clouds. their names were Chocolate Milk, Emerald Eye, Blue Lightning, Cotton Candy, Candy Cane, Starry Nights, Peanut Butter, Springsign, Candlelight, Wind Whisper, Tingle, and Spirit Song. They were abandoned because they were different than everypony else. But this was just the beginning of Lunaria, and it began in the mountains of Equestria. This was only the beginning of Lunaria. Luna began to end her song, "Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of enchantment! Come little children, the time's come to play, here in my garden of shadows!"And the song ended with a sweet, long interlude.
