ATMOSPHERE LABORATORIES. MAY 9, 14:06
"Butter? Butterscotch, where are you? It's ready!"
Cloud, a scientist, who is also a cat, had just finished a dimension-traveling device she had been working on for over six months. It was a large, tube shaped capsule made of reinforced steel with a door on it, like something you'd see in the movies. It was connected with wires to a big control panel, with buttons, numbers, and all of the sort. Now, to make the handheld version. But that was for a later date. Butterscotch, her best friend, assistant, and test subject, had been working with Cloud all the 7-and-a-half years Atmosphere Laboratories, Cloud's little facility, had been going. Atmosphere Labs started as a small building, where Cloud and Butterscotch preformed small tests and experiments. But after recognition from major companies and, after a while, the government, the two cats started to enlarge the building and hire about 18 employees. Now, it's a very large building with all sorts of things inside that you really don't want to see.
"Come on, you said you'd test this! I'm not going to let you wimp out!" Cloud frantically called for Butterscotch.
"Coming!" Butterscotch raced down the halls to Cloud. "It's done?"
"Yes. Now get inside, I need to see if it can work on cats." Cloud answered Butterscotch, as she shoved her into the suspicious-looking capsule and entered some numbers into the panel. "Take your phone, and call me when you get there. I configured it to be able to call inter-dimensionaly." Cloud put Butter's phone in the capsule, too. "Best wishes!"
"Wait, you don't know if this'll work on me?" Butterscotch nervously asked.
"Nope!" Cloud pushed a button and closed the capsule door.
"SHIIIIIIIIIIIIII-" Poof!
"Well, I hope it works!" Cloud said to herself. A few minutes later, Cloud hadn't received her phone call. "Strange, I should have gotten it by now. Probably just the spacial timezones, and stuff." After about 6 whole hours of not getting a phone call, Cloud went to bed. Cats do sleep 18 hours a day, after all.
PONYVILLE. MAY 9, 20:43
POOF! CRASH!
"Ouch!" Butterscotch exclaimed as she fell on the balcony of Twilight Sparkle's library. What? Oh, I guess I'm here. Hmm, let's see...huh?" Butterscotch noticed Owlicious looking at her through the window. "Oh, just an owl. Wait, who has a pet owl?!"
"AHH!" Twilight Sparkle screamed as she looked out to where the noises came from.
"AHH!" Butterscotch yelped, as she had never expected to see a lavender unicorn on her trip.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" they screamed in unison. Spike approached Twilight to see what the commotion was for.
"What are you screaming abou-" Spike drifted from his question as he noticed Butterscotch standing on Twilight's balcony "....WHAT?! What is that?!"
"You mean who?" Butterscotch corrected. "Anyways, I'm Butterscotch. Now tell me, who are you two? Cloud might want to hear about this..."
"Uh..." Twilight stammered. "Well, I'm Twilight Sparkle. And this is Spike."
"Alright, now could you tell me where I could get free Wi-Fi? I need to call my friend." Butterscotch asked.
"A what?"
"You know, Wi-Fi. Wireless Internet? Do you know where I can get it? Like, a cafe or something?" Butterscotch tried to explain.
"Umm, sorry, but we don't have that in Ponyville. Or in all of Equestria." Twilight answered, confused.
"But then, how am I supposed to call Cloud?! HOW DO I GET HOME?!?!" Butterscotch freaked out, she was now really scared that she would never find her way back to her own dimension.
"I'm sorry. Butterscotch was it? We'll try to get you home." Twilight said. "Now, it's late. We should go to bed. You can stay with me. Spike, go get her some pillows and blankets." Before Spike could make the guest bed, Butterscotch was already curled up on the edge of Twilight's bed, sleeping away. Twilight giggled. Then, they both went to bed.
THE FOLLOWING MORNING, 8:48.
Yawn!
When Twilight woke up, Butterscotch was already making breakfast; pancakes and eggs.
"Wow, you didn't have to make breakfast. You're the guest!" Twilight said, surprised at her guest.
"I know I don't have to. I want to!" Buttercotch replied. "I love to cook, food is my passion!"
"Thanks. We haven't had pancakes and eggs in a while. I think Spike will like this!" Twilight remarked. Spike grumbled down the stairs, tired from being up late last night.
"Huh?" Spike moaned. "Pancakes and eggs? Yay!" The other two giggled. After eating breakfast, Twilight went to introduce Butterscotch to her friends.
"So, what are you again?" Twilight asked, never seeing a creature like Butterscotch before.
"I'm a cat." Butterscotch answered.
"Strange, the cats we have here look nothing like you. They walk on all fours, and they can't talk. Do you have those kind of cats where you come from?" Twilight questioned.
"When cats are born, where I'm from, they're something like that. But, when they get to be about 2 months old, they can stand on two legs and talk."
"How peculiar..." The two had now reached Sugarcube Corner, for Butterscotch to meet Pinkie and the Cakes. Twilight walked up to the counter where Mrs. Cake was standing. "Hello Mrs. Cake. Is Pinkie here?"
"Yes, she's in the kitchen. Who is that with you?" Mrs. Cake looked at the creature with Twilight.
"I'm Butterscotch, and I'm a cat. It's a long story."
"Uh, alright. Pinkie! Twilight is here to see you!" Mrs. Cake called for Pinkie Pie.
"Coooming!" Pinkie called back. She bounced out of the kitchen happily, excited to see her friend. "Hiya, Twi! Ooh, whozzat with you?"
"Pinkie, this is Butterscotch. She's a cat from a different dimension, and she needs our help to find her way home." Twilight introduced.
"Oh, silly. We don't have time for that, we have to throw a party for her!" Pinkie happily announced, still hopping up and down.
"A party? For me?" Butterscotch was confused at the pink pony. A party for her? It wasn't her birthday, or any sort of holiday.
"That's right? When ever somepony new comes to Ponyville, I like to throw a biiiig party for them! Then everypony in town can get to know the new pony! Or...Cat, in this case. I've never thrown a party for a cat before! I wonder if I should still make chocolate muffins...But a Pinkie Pie Welcome Party without chocolate muffins?! What was I thinking?! " Pinkie went on and on for a while about whether or not to have chocolate at her party...Little did she know Twilight and Butterscotch were already gone. Or did she? Really, I don't know. Pinkie? You do know they're gone...right?
"Maybe I should just use less chocolate...Yeah! I know. I just thought it would be weird to stop my train of thought just because two passengers got off!"
