Sky Force: Equestria's Defender
Prologue
Load Full Story"So... this General Narcissist... can you tell me a little about him?" Star Bolt asked over her communicator, seeing the other pony over a screen. Star Bolt was an orange earth pony mare with darker colored hair, her cutiemark consisted of a yellow star, seemingly exploding. She was a rather tall mare, clocking in at exactly six feet tall, other than that though, she looked like an average mare, except bigger.
"Uh... well, there isn't much on him, but I'll tell you what I can," Tech said over the screen. Tech was a partner and a great friend of Star Bolt, he was a rather average, jet black unicorn stallion. "Okay, so basic things. Height: 6'5". Build: Pretty average, but has some muscles. Color: White. Mane and tail: Red. Uh... not much else on the guy, we don't even know where he came from."
"Well, that doesn't help," Star said.
"I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault. I at least know my objective, stop him from taking over Equestria. Everypony else hasn't told me enough about it back at at headquarters."
"I sense sarcasm," Tech joked, making Star chuckle.
"Yeah, anyway, could you tell me anything about his actual army? Is Equestria really in that much danger because of this guy?"
"Unfortunately, it is. We suspect that Narcissist has a magic inhibitor, and if it's as powerful as we think it is, it could disable even Princess Celestia's and Luna's magc," he informed, sounding slightly nervous. "That and Canterlot still doesn't have 'up to date' weapons."
"Celestia still has guards and spears I assume?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
"I see, what about the Elements of Harmony? Can't they do anything against him?"
"That's the thing, remember when Tirek attacked? Well, in order to stop him, the girls had to sacrifice the actual Elements to the Tree of Harmony in order to defeat him. Even then, like I said before, the magic inhibitor may be very powerful, we don't know if it could disable the Elements. It's unlikely, but it's still a possibility, one we would want to avoid."
"Got it. Hey, I'll talk later, I can see some enemy planes up ahead. Bye, Tech."
"Oh alright, see you later. Be sure to hit the big stallion himself for me!" Tech hung up afterwards. With that, Star did a last minute check on her plane, the Golden Strike. As the name implies, it's golden in color, with plasma weaponry, homing missiles, and to top it off, was very fast.
"Okay, looks like everything is ready to go," with a crack of her knuckles, she got into position, ready to take down anything in her way, "...let's do this," with that, she sped off towards the planes. Said planes were already headed towards her, in a line formation. They weren't anything special, just simple green planes, they didn't even have weapons on them. Star just assumed they were kamikazes, so opening fire, she started shredding the formation. "They made no attempt to move," Starbolt noted after taking out the planes, "They have to be robots, I didn't see any ponies fall out of the planes. Freedom Flight did say this general had very advanced technology," she said before heading further across the ocean.
Traveling a bit further, she encountered a pair of battleships next, they seem to have noticed her as well, as they aimed their cannons towards her and started firing plasma of their own at her.
"Of course they have access to plasma as well," Star said, a bit agitated while dodging the plasma heading towards her. Swooping down, she filled the first ship with plasma until it blew up. With that done, she shot out a homing missile towards the second ship, taking out the turret. Seeing as it was no longer able to do harm, Starbolt left it alone, looking forward, she had no time to dodge a missile heading straight for her. She grunted in pain a bit when the missile hit, shaking her plane. Looking forward, she saw three apaches firing homing missiles at her, thinking quickly, she dodged the missiles just as they lost their homing ability, flying off into the distance before harmlessly exploding.
Opening fire on the apaches, they were taken out quite easily with just a few shots.
"This is the army that's been causing us trouble? It's easy... but," she sighed, "Narcissist might be making it look easy just for me to let my guard down. Can't trick me that easily Narcissist," Star said, speeding off. Her next encounter were more formations of planes, but these appeared to be red. She started firing plasma at the incoming planes, only to find that they seemed to have thicker armor than the green planes. They were getting a bit too close for comfort, her eyes widened a bit as she quickly pulled up, a plane managed to hit her wing though. It wasn't enough to cause extensive damage, but it was still a pretty bad hit.
"47%. My hull is below half, can't be too reckless now," Star practically scolded herself, she looked back behind herself, seeing as the planes flying off into the distance. She continued going forward. "Forget it, the others can take care of them, I may be the ace pilot, but I'm not perfect. I can't destroy EVERYTHING I see," she said to herself, she quickly dodged a few pink plasma fired by three battleships, squinting a bit, she dove down, firing missiles and plasma all the way. The ships were taken care of easily enough, but while she was focusing on the ships, she didn't even notice a missile heading straight for her. Once the missile had hit the plane, she grunted again as her plane shook.
"CRITICAL CONDITION!" The computer informed, looking at the damage of the hull, Star saw that it was just below 25%, it looks like the general is throwing everything at her now. Flying back up to match the altitude of the apaches, Starbolt started fighting back. After a bit of damage, the apaches exploded, sending debris into the ocean below. After a bit more flying, Starbolt started reaching land a bit further up. She continued flying, but saw no other enemies in the immediate area at the moment, which she found strange considering what had happened not long ago. That's when Tech reappeared on the screen.
"Starbolt, be cautious, you are approaching on General Narcissist," Tech warned.
"I will, don't worry," Star said, Tech nodded before disappearing off the screen. Looking forward, Star saw she was approaching a strange looking blue tank. It was far bigger than a regular tank, that and it appeared to have eight spider like legs. That's when she saw him, General Narcissist, who had appeared on her screen.
"You? You're the best Freedom Flight has to offer? That toy plane of yours is useless against me! Come back in another ten years," the general taunted as the cannon of the tank turned and faced towards Starbolt. She barely had enough time to react when the spider tank shot out heavy plasma, which zoomed by her plane. Letting out a sigh of relief, Star engaged in combat with Narcissist, she shot out plasma and missiles at the tank, while the general shot more heavy plasma at Star. However, after a bit, it was obvious neither side was making any progress, no matter how much damage Star tried to do to the tank, there wasn't a scratch on it. While Narcissist was having the opposite problem, Star kept dodging his attacks. After a bit, the general finally got fed up.
"Enough of this!" He yelled. The cannon faced away from Starbolt, than, a yellow laser shot of the of the tank. The cannon started turning towards her, and with no time to react, hit her. Her plane was destroyed almost as soon as the laser touched, sending her towards the ground. Luckily, her automatic parachute activated, gently lowering her to the ground, the last thing she heard was General Narcissist's laugh as he walked away in his spider tank, before she blacked out.
