Farmer's Hospitality
A New Branch
Previous ChapterSorry, no real sexy time in this one. Just a bunch of "boring" story conclusion and some sex talk.
Anyhow, as per usual, please enjoy and feel free to comment.

Rainbow Dash awoke to feel wetness on the bed, groggily thinking she'd wet herself and figuring she'd have go get up and clean it. As she felt an intense contraction in her belly however, she groaned in pain, instantly rousing the attention of Big Mac, whom had chose to sleep with her that night.
"What's th' matter Dashie?!" Big Mac asked in alarm, instantly snapped awake by his mare's cry of pain.
"I...I think our foals are coming!" Rainbow replied, clutching her swollen abdomen as another surge of pain and another contraction went through her, making her groan again.
In response to that, Big Mac carefully helped Rainbow get up then went to get the over-night bag they had made up once Dash hit the tenth month of her term, knowing that their foals would likely be coming very soon...and right they were.
"C'mon Dashie, breathe. In and out, in and out..." Big Mac encouraged, with Rainbow quickly making her panicked breathing more rhythmic, interrupted with another pained whine. "C'mon we gotta go now." he said, Rainbow nodding with clenched eyes. He knew they didn't need to worry about the foal arriving unexpectedly, with all ponies able to keep their young inside until it was safe to give birth, a trait carried over from when they were feral and a hunted species.
Slowly and carefully, the couple made their way downstairs, quickly exiting the house and making their way to Ponyville Hospital.
Every bump the cart made caused Rainbow to gasp, with her squeezing tighter around Big Mac’s neck hard as she felt the tightness in her lower abdomen momentarily increase. She had gone into labor only minutes ago but already she felt the contractions starting to get harder, some gentle and some not so much. He had taken her and her overnight bag outside to the cart they had, and had loaded her up the moment he could. She felt a full contraction as they hit another bump and squeezed Big Mac’s neck hard again at the sensation, making Mac unable to breathe for a moment, and as such having to stop the cart. Moments later, Rainbow released her vice-grip on his neck as the contraction died down, and with him able to breath again, he pulled in gasps of air into his denied lungs.
Big Mac gave Rainbow a moment to rest before he resumed, now moving much more gently on the bumpy dirt path as to not aggravate her condition, trotting quickly but not roughly. He soon reached the paved street instead of the bumpy dirt road leading to and fro Sweet Apple Acres, much to Rainbow's relief. As he did, he increased his pace as he galloped into Ponyville as soon as the wheels hit pavement, not as worried about bringing on more discomfort for Rainbow given the smooth street, and quickly made his way to Ponyville Hospital.
~
It was only a few minutes more until they arrived at the Ponyville Hospital, with Big Mac quickly unloading and rushing Rainbow inside. She was immediately admitted and rushed to the maternity ward, and was quickly put into a birthing bed with Big Mac retained in the lobby to fill her paperwork out. In the birthing room, the wet-nurses put her rear hooves in the straps on the bed and spread her legs for the act of nature soon to occur. Rainbow felt the tightness and pressure increase as she dilated further, and felt her first foal moving down more as her body prepared to give birth.
Big Mac joined Rainbow in the birthing room as soon as he could, wanting to be by her side for this moment; the moment they became a family. During her labor, Rainbow Dash would alternately curse or praise Big Mac for either putting her through this or giving her this moment, her hoof constantly squeezing his as she pushed and grunted through it. Big Mac gave her soft encouragements all throughout, sometimes softly kissing her or putting his hoof through her sweaty mane when she wasn't pressing it to the bed in her efforts.
After only an hour of labor, Rainbow Dash finally gave one last very hard push and heard a soft gurgling, followed by a cry. It was announced that she had given birth to a healthy filly and she smiled and flopped her head back into the soaked pillow, simultaneously glad that it was over and that their family had begun. The smile soon faded however, and she gasped as she felt another set of contractions start a few minutes later. She pressed her head back into the pillow and felt the pressure rising again, feeling the other foal dropping lower in her abdomen as it prepared to enter the world.
After another half-hour of labor, Rainbow brought the second foal into the world, the announcement stating this one was a colt. Rainbow and Big Mac weren't surprised by the birth of the second foal, as her previous ultrasounds had foretold of its coming, being told it was twins from near the start.
After Rainbow Dash had finished the whole birthing process, she was checked over as the foals were being tested in the typical post-birth examination, with all three of them checking out perfectly healthy for immediately after birth. Then it was time to name the foals. The names had been decided on many months past if it was a filly and a colt, or two of either, having decided to keep the foals' genders a surprise, the ultrasounds only being used to track their growth and health. Rainbow Dash and Big Mac now did some final discussion on the names, glad they had chosen for both genders in advance, and then called in the nurse when they had decided.
“Good job mom, and congratulations to you both!” the nurse said in a chipper voice, "Now, what would you like to name the filly?
Both the parents looked at each other and then the nurse, with Mac and Rainbow consecutively saying; “Autumn Zap-Apple”.
The nurse slightly cocked her head as she wrote the name down, her barely understanding because of them both speaking at the same time. She then asked “…and the colt? One only this time please.”
Big Mac then nodded to Rainbow, and she spoke; “We want to name him Johnamac Apple.” Both had earlier chosen to name him partially after Big Mac's favorite uncle, Johnathan Apple, as well as the newborn colt's own father.
Rainbow Dash and Big Mac both teared up and smiled softly as Rainbow was given the blanket-swathed twins; one in a sky-blue blanket, and one in powder-pink. One lay on either side of Rainbow’s barrel, with both held softly against her with a hoof on each's side and wing cradling either's head from underneath.
The two parents both first looked down at their new colt; he had a full-rainbow mane just like his mother‘s if slightly less saturated, and he cooed softly as his dark-mauvian-pink wings softly flapped while he slept. Johnamac awoke for a second, looking at them with the same brilliant emerald-green of his father that had attracted Rainbow Dash to his father all those long months ago before his eyes once more started roaming again. When his eyes finally stopped wondering, they locked onto his father's, making Big Mac feel as though his heart stopped a moment, a tear forming as he looked into what could be a smaller pair of his own eyes.
Rainbow Dash and Big Mac then looked to their filly, Autumn; no wings nor horn were on her, but as a earth-pony she was slightly larger then a typical Unicorn or Pegasus foal. Her mane was sandy-blonde and her coat a lighter red-violet, showing them her small eyes were the same beautiful cerise-pink eyes as her mother's before once again falling asleep.
Rainbow Dash’s best friends were soon called to the recovery room upon her request, with Mac having arranged for them to be notified when they arrived at the hospital months past. All soon after arrived at the hospital, seemingly dropping anything they were doing at the time to come be with her and meet the new foals. They were allowed to meet Rainbow after the foals were moved to the receiving room, and all were ecstatic for her as they congratulated her and Big Mac on their new foal. Rainbow then softly smiled and said "...But we had twins!"
Applejack snickered. “Dang right y'did. Darn big bro, ya musta been going at her all day e'ry day and night durin' her heat t’ get twins!” The remark caused a deep blush from all in the room, but with both Big Mac and Rainbow’s burning especially deep as they all three knew it wasn’t far off the truth. Applejack had unintentionally—or so they then thought—caught them 'in the act' quite a number of times throughout Rainbow's heat, most often at their climaxes as Big Mac was pumping Rainbow full and they were unable to stop themselves. Rainbow and Mac hadn't exactly been subtle with where they'd bred most of the time after all, Big Mac letting his inner animal take her over whenever he'd felt the need, and Rainbow instantly flagging her tail to him when he mounted her. Applejack snickered at the commotion she caused, then crossed her front hooves and leaned against the nearby wall, admiring the deep blushes on her brother's and sister-in-law's faces.
Twilight soon after chimed in; “Well, scientifically speaking; neither the length of the breeding sessions, amount of semen, nor even the number of breeding sessions affect the odds of having twins. The only factor of having twins, or any other multiple births for that matter, is based on one zygote splitting into two or several, then each developing separately - OR there being two or more ovum, with each being fertilized separately...which is the case with fraternal twins, like these two!” She smiled as she finished and looked around, but her smile slowly faded as she noticed the faces of her friends. All of the others giggled at her or sighed, Twilight having killed the joviality with her literalness.
Shortly after some more idle talk and discussions of the foals, her friends presented their gifts to Rainbow and Big Mac for their new foals.
Twilight presented a great number of books on various subjects, including foal-care and non-fiction, as well as anatomical for Mac and Rainbow's 'private time'. Rarity gave a number of winter clothing pieces and two silken blankets she had crafted in neutral colors, as Rainbow Dash and Big Mac had decided to let the foals' gender be a surprise to everypony. She also promised to produce any other clothing they needed as the foals grew 'gratuitement', and that all they needed to do was ask her for it. The two smiled at her as Rainbow beaconed her over to the bed, and when she was in range reached out and wrapped a hoof around her neck, hugging her and thanking her.
Applejack had brought an small, old golden broach with a young foal carved on the front. She looked at the broach and said; “Granny Smith asked me t’ pass this down to ya in her stead, Rainbow Dash - and she also told me t’ to tell ya its significance.” Applejack hoofed it over to Rainbow as she continued, “It’s supposed t’ bring good luck t’ any mare who wears it in the Apple family and who've had foals. It also helps to encourage fertility fer y’two...” She snickered as she added; “...not that ya really need any help in that category…” Rainbow Dash and Big Mac again blushed, then looked down at their new foals, indeed very proud of the virility of their seeds. Rainbow put on the broach with Applejack's help and and hugged the orange mare, thanking her and asking her to extend her thanks to Granny Smith for such a beautiful and meaningful gift.
Pinkie Pie had brought a chocolate cake with no candles, and a sloppily written “Happy 0th Birthday, Dashie’s Foals!” on top. She then proceeded to loudly start a jaunty tune; “Happy happy birthday to-”, but was quickly interrupted by a 'SHH!' from the nearby nurse. She had learned from the Cakes’ twins that if she didn’t want to get booted out again, she needed to comply. Instead of continuing again despite really, really wanting to, she showed some uncharacteristic restraint and instead simply set the cake down on a nearby side-table. As she really didn't want to miss the chance to see them, she settled instead for bouncing excitedly as she waited to go see the new foals.
Fluttershy was the final one to offer her gift, but bore no material item. Instead she said, barely loud enough to hear; “Um…if you want to you can come down my cottage...I mean if you’re free later…to choose a family pet for you two and your foals? I could even help you choose if need be. One of my bunnies just had a whole litter of kits, so maybe one of those? Or maybe...” she cut herself off, hiding her face behind her mane. Both Big Mac and Rainbow nodded in thanks, with Rainbow reaching over to the yellow pegasus, hugging her oldest and closest friend tightly enough to get a soft eep from her.
Moments later, all were surprised when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna came into the room, both smiling brightly as they saw Rainbow Dash and the two foals cuddled against her. All except Rainbow bowed to them and Celestia asked them to rise. Celestia then softly criticized Twilight, a fellow Princess, for bowing to her; getting a blush and "Sorry!" from the purple alicorn.
Celestia then spoke up, her normally regal voice quite soft and quiet in the form of a whisper; “Congratulations, Rainbow Dash! My sister and I would like to extend a gift in honor of the birth of your foals from all of Ponyville.” She then levitated in a moderately-sized sack of bits from outside of the room, them coming from her and Luna's personal wages. If this wasn’t enough, it was Luna’s turn to speak; “We would also like to offer for you to call upon us whenever you two need a royal foal-sitter, or anything else you may need from us.” The gifts needless to say, left everyone in the room with their jaws to the floor. The princesses were only able to nervously chuckle and look at each other as the other ponies in the room recovered from the shock, the alicorn duo wondering if they had laid it on a little too heavy.
A short while later, after everypony had recovered from the shock of the Princesses' extensive generosity, all were very excited as they walked to the hospital nursery. When they arrived and saw all of the bundled-up newborn foals in the receiving room, all were quite excited as they eagerly searched out Rainbow's foals among the myriad of newborn foals. Pinkie was especially excited, bouncing much higher then usual as her hooves raising almost three feet above the ground with each bounce. It was pretty clear that one of them was Rainbow’s, even to Pinkie Pie; his rainbow-hued mane sticking out of the blankets being a clear giveaway. With a little help from the parents, the group of friends and royalty also soon after found their other foal, with her being a bit less obvious.
All of her friends and the Princesses looked through the windows, marveling at the beautiful fruit of Rainbow’s and Mac's loins. They all cooed and again congratulated them as Rainbow and Big Mac approached them, Rainbow Dash having recovered quickly from the birth and having been relieved from bed-rest, Pegusi well-known for their quick rehabilitative abilities. They all nine watched the foals from the two windows, watching as they softly squirmed in their sleep.
~
As there were no complications with the birth, nor any found in the post-birth examination with neither the foals nor Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash and Big Mac were allowed to take Autumn and Johnamac home with them when they left the hospital later that morning, Rainbow Dash resting a little more before departing. Rainbow's friends had dismissed themselves one by one shortly after viewing her new foals, all needing to get back to what they were doing before they'd suddenly been summoned away.
Rainbow had loaded up in the cart and Big Mac pulled her and the foals back to Sweet Apple Acres, careful to move very cautiously as to not harm his mare nor his two new foals. They arrived at their destination almost precisely at noon, the twelve gongs from the clock-tower just ending as the cart stopped in front of the main gates of the Apple's homestead.
Both were suddenly startled as they heard an uproarious cheer from around their cart, being quickly surrounded and greeted with the cheering of almost the entire Apple clan, lacking the few who couldn’t make it. Big Mac and Rainbow quickly left the cart and were ushered to the large field outside the main barn, closely followed by the majority of the clan, with the crowd eager to get a look at the new additions to their family.
When they arrived, they saw a large display board set up in the front of the field on the portable stage they used for special occasions. Spread out over the board was a very old, very large piece of parchment, tattered at the edges and browned with its age. At the display board’s side was a podium, with Granny Smith standing with her forehooves upon it as she waited for the rest of the Clan to calm down. She then beaconed to Rainbow Dash and Big Mac to come and join her on the stage, getting a small blush from both as they did. Under her breath, she asked the name of the foals, and they told her. She commented on how they were "cuter th'n a bunch of buzzin' bees" before turning back and facing the crowd before them.
Granny Smith cleared her throat as she pulled a megaphone out and started to speak into it; “This thing on? Yeh, this'll do. This here is a celebration fer the birth of new kin fer the Apple Clan, an’ fer the tradition of adding Macintosh Apple, Rainbow Dash Apple, Autumn Zap-Apple, ‘n’ Jonamac Apple as a new branch t’ the Apple Family tree!” This was met with a great fanfare from the crowd, many standing up and stomping their hooves in excitement, causing a sizable dust-cloud to form amongst them and causing some to cough.
After the dust settled slightly, Granny Smith added; “An’ Ah’d like t’ thank each ‘n’ e’ry one of y’all fer takin’ time outta yer busy schedules ‘n’ comin’ out here t’ celebrate with us! Ah know this took many months a plannin’ 'n' such, so thank y’all fer finally makin' it out here!” This was met with another holler from the crowd, but this time all remained seated and settled instead for throwing their hats into the air, the dust-cloud still remaining in the air and nopony wanting to add to it.
As Granny Smith proceeded with the ceremony, Rainbow Dash and Big Mac watched as she took a frayed and very-old-looking quill and dipped it in an antique inkwell. She then headed over to the vast parchment - walking slowly over to her, Applejack's, Big Mac's parents and Apple Bloom's branch of the tree. They watched as Granny Smith drew Rainbow's cutie-mark on the board next to Big Mac’s and connected Big Mac’s cutie-mark to hers with a line. She then branched it off beneath them, adding two other lines down from them for their foals, the ends for now left blank as they would be updated when the foals got their cutie-marks. Rainbow Dash felt tears in her eyes at the symbolic gesture, now feeling truly one with the vast expanse of the Apple Family. Once the branch was added, the entire crowd erupted in another boisterous cheer, with many Stetsons flying through the air above the crowd once more.
The rest of the day and night was a feast in Rainbow Dash and Big Mac's honor, with every type of apple dish imaginable prepared and set up on a number of banquet tables. Rainbow Dash and Big Mac spent most of rest of their time enjoying the festivities prepared in their honor together as a family, never leaving their newborn foals alone and constantly being congratulated on them. Rainbow Dash occasionally left to feed the foals when they got hungry, breaking off and going inside the barn, but at all other times stayed next to Big Mac, as always by his side.
Rainbow Dash had a lot of non-alcohol apple cider, but what she really wanted some of the Reserve Cider that had been cracked open for the celebration, but knew she needed to be sober to watch after her new foals...and didn't want them getting any of it in her milk. One time Big Mac also grabbed a mug of the non-alcohol cider and held it up to her, proposing a toast; “T’ us, and t’ out new family!” he said, and the mugs thudded together shortly after, eliciting some quiet cheers from a small group nearby. Both drank the mugs dry, and finished with quite a loud burp and a shared laugh.
~ ~ ~
As the sun neared the horizon, the Clan was still celebrating with a huge hoe-down. Rainbow Dash and Big Mac had generally spent the rest of their time at the party at various treat stands that had been set up, with many apple treats being consumed by them in the time they stayed at the reunion. Rainbow occasionally went off alone to feed them, and quickly knew it would take some getting used to, for both her and her foals. As the sun finally dropped past the horizon, Rainbow Dash and Big Mac started to feel the long day's toll on them, especially Rainbow Dash. Giving birth to and feeding twins was no easy task after all!
They dismissed themselves from the party, with Big Mac and Rainbow Dash going up on stage. Big Mac thanked everypony for coming and for their hospitality, and Rainbow Dash thanked everypony for accepting her and their foals into the family, then a special thank you to Granny Smith for arranging and conducting the ceremony for them. They left the stage to another cheer and soon after walked to the main home, leaving the loud country music and noisy crowd behind as they seeked the solace of their home.
Upon arriving at the farmhouse and heading inside, the thick walls blocked out most of the noise from the party outside, much to the new parents' relief. Both Rainbow and Big Mac were totally exhausted from the long day, Rainbow Dash literally ready to pass out the moment she hit the pillow. Giving birth to twins would definitely wear anypony out, even the always-energetic Rainbow Dash. After another somewhat-awkward feeding, Rainbow Dash placed their new bundles of joy in the cribs that they had set up many months ago before tucking into her own bed, her foals falling asleep almost instantly from her warm milk in their tummies. She then went to her bed, Big Mac already softly snoring in his own, and she fell asleep almost instantly—
—only to be sharply awoken three hours later to the duel crying both Rainbow and Big Mac would soon get very used to. With a sigh, Rainbow Dash got up and gathered her bawling foals from the crib, knowing exactly what they needed. She then laid on her bed and instinctively placed them to her milk-engorged teats, and with a little assisted adjustment for Autumn, they immediately began to suckle on her. "Eat up you two, get nice and big and strong for me." Rainbow cooed quietly as she watched them feed, a large smile on her face as she looked upon her babies and felt them taking sustenance from her, pride for them rolling through her as she did.
Rainbow smiled as she watched her foals as they suckled, watching their little bellies grow ever plumper as their meal approached its end. Big Mac soon joined her, him having awoken from the crying as well and watched for a moment, still tired but smiling all the same. She heard his voice from behind her, soft as to not disturb the foals, but highly emotional all the same; "Thank yah fer this, Dashie. Thank y' for giving me a family". She felt as he put a hoof through her messy mane, Rainbow sighing happily at the sensation and rubbing up against his hoof in turn.
"Thank you too, my love" Rainbow said in response, soon after meeting his eyes, "After all, it took both of us to make them." They shared a soft kiss, with Mac breaking the kiss and parting ways a minute later, giving her a smile and a soft kiss on her forehead before heading back to bed.
With their feeding done shortly after, her two foals unlatched from Rainbow's teats and started whimpering as a soft rumble was heard from their tummies. Rainbow picked them up and placed one over each shoulder as she'd been taught, patting their backs until each gave a soft burp. As they were pressed up against her, she realized how squishy their diapers were; she needed to change them. She sighed, really wanting to get back to bed, but instead reached over to the diapers and cleaning materials, knowing that their needs must now forever come before her own.
After their diapers were changed, it taking quite a while as she fumbled through it for only her third time ever, Rainbow Dash placed her foals back in their crib, bundling them tightly against the cool autumn air. They once again fell asleep almost instantly from their earlier warm and filling meal, cooing softly and occasionally fidgeting as Rainbow watched them a few moments longer, smiling softly as she watched her foals sleep. Watching her family.
Hearing a sound from the hallway, Rainbow Dash saw a pair of emerald eyes peaking through the crack in their door, which she'd apparently left partially opened. "I know you like to watch, but we're not having sex tonight AJ. Sorry to disappoint..." Rainbow whispered in a simple, tired tone as she approached the door, watching as the eye widened and the door quickly closed shut. She'd always known they were being watched as they made love but never really paid it any mind, indeed going out of her way to put on a good show for them as well as Big Mac, but never before had mentioned it to either Applejack or Apple Bloom, with Big Mac also knowing as well. Smirking as she finally had confronted her in a way, Rainbow eventually got up and walked to the beds, her fatigue finally overtaking her as she laid down softly, not wanting to disturb its other occupant.
Instead of returning to her own bed however, Rainbow laid this time in Big Mac’s bed and snuggled up closely against him. She heard a contented sigh from him as she pressing her head to his chest, feeling his muzzle softly nuzzle against the top of her head as she sighed in kind, pressing closer to her stallion, and the sire of her foals. She quickly picked up his heartbeat, letting the soft beating of his heart put her to sleep as she had so many nights before, feeling his hooves wrap around her and pull her into the safety of his embrace. I feel so...complete! I have a family now! were her last thoughts as she fell asleep, a smile on her face as she entered Luna's domain.
