Changing One's Destiny
Disagreements
Previous ChapterNight arrived as Cyrus and his friend returned home. No words were exchanged to either party on their way home, just blissful silence. Cyrus gently opened the door, his mind already expecting Gilda to be behind it, waiting patiently for his return.
Just as he thought, she was behind it, sleeping peacefully next to the door mat. Her wings ruffled and her quiet snores filled the room that he and Erin entered.
"Your pet really cares about you, you know that?" Nire whispered.
"She's not my pet, she's my roommate...a rather annoying one at that."Cyrus chuckled.
The sound of his quiet laughter was enough to wake Gilda from her slumber. Her eyes flashed open to find her human standing in front of her, carrying the bane of her own existence.
"You...." She growled.
"Easy, now." Cyrus placed his palm on her furry head, calming her as his other hand supported Erin, cradling her comfortably.
"You brought her back for me to kill?" Gilda smiled slyly. Her claws slowly unsheathed themselves whilst she crouched, primed for attack. Erin instinctively shoved her muzzle in Cyrus' chest, trembling to erect a facade against the angry griffon. Cyrus glared at Gilda, shaking his head in disapproval.
"No." He said. "She'll be living here, for a while."
"For a while? What the buck man! She just stole our bits and now you're gonna let her live with us? Are you crazy?" She pointed her claws at Erin, poking her at each question she made.
"She promised to give our money back, in exchange for my service in housing her."
"Whorseshit! She probably seduced you while you chased after her, didn't you?" She pointed at Cyrus, her eyes gleaming in the moonlight that the window provided.
"There's been no seducing, Gilda. I'm just helping another outcast like you."
"I'm no outcas-"
"Yes. Yes you are. If you weren't, then you would have ditched me for friends that weren't aliens." He reprimanded her.
She knew that he was right in every way. Any griffon would have ditched this being the moment they were able to support their own selves, but she stayed, she never left him for a reason, a reason that Cyrus would never know.
Gilda looked away, downcasted. She rubbed her arms awkwardly as she felt his gaze upon her feeble body.
"Just...keep her away from me then." She walked away and up into the stairs of their home. A small sound in the form of a door closing was heard.
Cyrus stood in the doorway of his dark home, holding Erin in a room where the only light came from the windows. He fumbled for a short while, finding the matches for the candles that he would light up. Erin sat herself on his couch, watching the human look into every nook and cranny of his shelves. She placed her head on the armrest as she made herself comfortable in his home.
After a few awkward positions of searching and some quiet cursing, Cyrus manages to find them placed on the top of the shelf, which was exactly the place to hide them from the volatile Gilda. He lit the lamps strategically placed around the house, illuminating it with a calm orange.
Cyrus sat next to Erin, who was lying by her side. She turned around on her back and spread her legs open.
"Is this the part where you seduce me with the romantic atmosphere?" She spoke.
He sighed, resting his face in his hands.
"You don't have to have sex for each and every second that you're next to a member of the opposite gender, you know." He replied, looking at her with an exasperated expression. "So please, just act normal for once."
She quickly sorted herself and sat upright, huffing in disappointment. "This is my normal behavior." She looked at him.
"Oh right, sorry. I forgot what you did for a living a second ago." He apologized.
"It's alright."
The two sat silence, awkwardly sitting through the atmosphere they created. Cyrus tried to desperately find new conversation topics to add in, but they all felt out of place, or just plain strange to talk about with what is essentially a prostitute sitting next to him.
Erin meanwhile, enjoyed the silence. For once, her mind started to go blank on what she wanted to do next. No sex fantasies, no plans on how to have sex, no nothing. Sex was pretty much everything that she lived and thought for, and to take it away...well, she's pretty much a normal, bland pony at that point.
Nevertheless, she liked it.
Then suddenly, Cyrus thought of something.
"Do you want to eat?"
"Cu-"
"No."
And so, Cyrus gave Erin a sandwich.
Happily scarfing down the meal she received, Erin moaned at the taste of meat that she could properly chew and swallow. It seemed as though she didn't even mind about the sandwich being non-vegetative.
"Like it?" Cyrus chuckled.
Erin grinned foolishly.
"You don't care about the meat?"
Erin shook her head, filling up her cheeks with the sandwich as she did so.
Cyrus smiled at the happy mare with the frazzled teal mane. He could see the bags under her eyes, the split ends her uncared mane had, the light bruises she probably received from rough sessions, and most of all: the cutie mark she wore on her flank.
He pondered about how a mare like her could ever get a mark like that, but those thoughts were cut short when Erin abruptly asked him for some water. After finishing her evening meal, Cyrus took her to the bathroom once more.
"I don't need to be cleaned again." She said as they walked there.
"Well you look filthy, and I don't want someone like you to sleep with body fluids that would stain my clean home." Cyrus replied.
"Someone?"
"Sorry, somepony. I still haven't gotten used to that."
To Erin, getting cleaned once a week was enough for her, but to be cleaned twice in one day? She felt like royalty.
Cyrus placed the towel he grabbed earlier beside the bathtub and began to start the arduous process of cleaning a pony once more. Thankfully, he had done this already earlier, so he already knew where to clean her and where to wash off any undesirable spots. Erin just sat at the bathtub, quietly admiring his handiwork as he sensually cleaned her...well, she saw it as sensual.
Gilda could hear the splashes that emanated in the bathroom as she laid down quietly in Cyrus' bed. Her eyes were open, neither blinking nor crying. All she did was to just stare at the door, hoping for Cyrus to come in and comfort her like he did with that mare. Pure jealousy coursed through her own body, filling her with bitter emotions.
'Bitch...who does she think she is? walking into our home, ruining our lives and pushing me away from Cy.' She thought bitterly.
She could hear her giggles and his laughter, all of which made her hate the mare more.
She got a pillow and hugged it tightly, carefully handling it so that her claws would not scratch it open. Her wings spread themselves over her and Cyrus' bed, making themselves comfortable. All she could do now was to wait for her human to enter the room and sleep by her side, like he has always done ever since he took her in.
Gilda could only hope that he comes in alone, and not with that mare.
"Alright, this is as clean as I can make you." Cyrus said as he wipes his hands on the towel. He then uses it on Erin to dry her body out, taking care of her soft body and fragile hair. The lilac mare purposefully nuzzled the hands behind the towel whenever it came across her face as a sign of gratitude. Her body instinctively tried to cover itself in the towel so that more of her parts could feel more of this human.
It was strange, really. It's as though she became putty on his hands.
Cyrus picked her up again, cradling her once more in his arms. Erin stared at his eyes, which looked tired but happy. She could even see him forming his own bags under his eyes, which made her giggle a bit. She was carried back to the living room, where Cyrus placed her on the sofa again. He quickly brought out a duvet for her, implying the notion that she was going to sleep on that couch for the night.
"Are you going to sleep with me?" Erin said.
"Sorry Nire, but I have to sleep upstairs, or else Gilda will think something is up and then I'll have to calm her rage and then she'll ignore what I say and then we'll fight and then....*sigh* well, you get the point." Cyrus replied.
She nodded in agreement.
Cyrus slowly left the room, going up the stairs quietly.
"Cyrus."
"Hm?"
"...my name is Erin....nothing."
"Alright then. Goodnight, and don't let the parasprites bite." His voice trailed off as he climbed the stairs.
Erin placed her head on the armrest and stared off into the window that showed the night sky. The light around her dimming as she closes her eyes.
'This...this is nice.'
Cyrus entered the landing before his bedroom, barely hearing Gilda's soft sobbing behind the crack of the door. He gently opened it, so as to not cause much attention. His eyes saw the sight of his old pal hugging his pillow and sobbing on it to muffle her sounds. Guilt panged around his heart and his mind, though he didn't know why it was happening. All he could do now was to sit down next to her and apologize for the harsh words he said.
He walked over to the window and closed it, stopping the chilly night air from entering the room once more. He pulled open the duvet that covered the bottom half of the griffon and sat in front of her, gently pushing the pillow back.
Gilda felt his motions and looked up, relieved to see her human alone and alone only. No mare in sight.
"Why are you crying?" Cyrus wiped the tears under on the lavender coat around her eyes. She smiled in response.
"Jerk."
He chuckled, lifting her and hugging her affectionately. Cyrus' arms snake under Gilda's own as he lifts her up to hug her. The griffon herself rested her own head on his shoulder, cooing in pleasure.
"Sorry about that." He whispered.
"About what?" Gilda mumbled.
"About me talking harshly to you when we came in."
"Th-that didn't faze me....dweeb." Gilda hugged him tighter. Her wings instinctively wrapped themselves around him, forming a cocoon in their embrace.
"You know I'd never say such harmful things. I'm just not the kind of person to do so."
"But you still did it."
"I know, but I was just tired and grumpy, and I also lost a day's worth of work, so of course I'd be out of it." He relinquished the hug, which Gilda sorely missed.
She scooted over on the left to give space for her human, who was taking his jacket and clothes off for the night, save for his trousers. Gilda watched intently as her human stripped before her eyes. Her gaze never left him as he neatly placed his clothes on the nightstand, beside the dim glow of the lamp that served as light in their room.
After having his shirt off, Cyrus ducked in the covers, making use of some parts of the duvet that Gilda shared with him.The griffon quickly shuffled over to his chest as he prepared his pillow.
"What are you doing?" Cyrus said as he rested his head.
"Making sure you don't leave me in the night." Gilda said.
"And do what exactly?"
"I don't know, run away with that whorse maybe?"
"And what will I do then? I'd be homeless."
She grumbled, being defeated. Nevertheless, Cyrus helped her by shuffling her body closer to his chest. Gilda's wings furled themselves as she roosted on him. She cooed lightly at the contact of their bodies touching, mixing their heat together and even offering a slight stimulus upon touch.
Cyrus felt rather comfortable with Gilda on his chest which enabled him to sleep without a duvet on it. He petted Gilda's head as she rested it between his collarbones, hearing her quiet yet noticeable coos of pleasure.
"Good night Gilly."
"Don't call me that."
"You love it."
"Shut up."
Morning came late for the two, since there were no alarm clocks in equestria.
The sound that finally woke both of the two up was from when Erin finally opened the door. The loud, deliberate and squeaky sound that the wooden door made was more than enough to wake the two up.
"Looks like you two had a passionate night." Erin smirked.
Rubbing his eyes, Cyrus groaned a response.
"What do you mean by that?"
Erin pointed to the downed bird on him, nuzzling his neck with her beak as she slept through the noise.
"I get why you told me to sleep down in the living room now." Erin said, leaning on the doorway.
"We didn't have sex, she just slept on me, alright?" Cyrus replied. "See? my pants are still on." He flicked open the side of the duvet to reveal his trousers, further solidifying his point. Erin looked away dismissively.
Cyrus slowly sat upright, holding the griffon close. Gilda moaned quietly, opening her eyes.
"Mornin'." She whispered, resting her head on his shoulders. Her tail gently flicked about as she continued to sleep.
"Get up, we have to leave for work." Cyrus said.
"I don't work."
"Well now you have to, because I'm not going to leave you here with Nire. Alone. So, I've decided to take both of you with me." Cyrus replied.
"Where are we gonna go?" Gilda grumbled, refusing to open her eyes.
"Today I'll be spending a few hours in Applejack's barn, then to the Sugarcube corner until nightfall. You know, as routine as always." Cyrus said as he got off the bed, grabbing his blue towel. "I'm gonna take a bath. Gilda, take her to the kitchen to get breakfast, after that brush your teeth. You gotta make a good appearance for the people we're going to meet now!" He said as he went down the stairs.
Silence covered the two in Cyrus' and Gilda's bedroom. Both individuals just stared at each other, one was glaring, whilst the other seemed plain bored.
"I don't want you using your pony magic on him while I'm around, or else I'll rip you to bits." Gilda snarled.
"I don't plan on doing anything. I'm a guest in your house, not a trickster." Erin replied blandly, walking towards the door.
"Tell that to the stallions you serviced and ripped off." Gilda retorted.
She expected a witty comeback to fuel their argument, but Erin just sighed dismissively at her insult as she continued to walk past down and down the stairs. Gilda grumbled, having being denied of any tense conflict-a thing that griffons strive for.
Erin briskly went down the stairs and into the kitchen. Inside it was a small stove and two doors: one that led to the garden and one that supposedly led to the larder, which was a cool room that kept things cold and hopefully, frozen. Erin saw the meat sandwich that Cyrus had already prepared, though there was only one instead of two. The meat was supposedly cooked, due to the signs showing that the stove was glowing a tad bit.
Deciding to leave nothing for the griffon, Erin hopped onto the chair and started to gobble down the food, making a mess and loud noises as she did so. She cherished the warm meat in her mouth, warm meat that for once, didn't come from a stallion. Though she missed it slightly, it couldn't compare to the delicious taste that this one gave.
"Hey! That's mine!" Erin heard the shouts of an angry Gilda as she flew down the stairs.
She tackled Erin to the floor, who had half of the sandwich held by her mouth. Gilda pecked furiously to get a few bits to eat, but Erin tried her best to sway her mouth away from it.
"Furk...awf!" Erin mumbled.
"Gimme it!" Gilda squawked.
Cyrus walks in on the two, shaking his wet head to flick water off it. He notices Gilda on Erin in an aggressive missionary position, pecking what seems to be the sandwich he made for both of them to share.
He sighs.
"This'll be a long day."
