Chapter 1

Gilda breathed again, feeling the sun on her skin.

It was a hard thing to do lately, breathing. Of course, she was quite old, and time was reaching her... at least her son, Malaquias, had made her proud.

If only...

A form blocked the opened skylight all of suden and started decending, and in the moment that Gilda saw it's wings -white, delicate things made of rain and silk- she knew it was an angel. An angel with rainbow hair...

No, it couldn't be. Ponies lived less than griffins, and at this point Dashie had to be dead.

-Wassup?

It was Dashie. Under the sunlight, her wings had seemed to be white, but now she saw it. They where the same color as ever.

-B-but Dash this does wait are you an angel? Did Anteras sent you to... take me?

That was nice, actually. Spending the eternity in a paradise, being able to hang out with Dashe and fly again, and tell her that she was so sorry for-

-What!? No, I am... Oh, you didn't get the news? I am one of the elements of harmony, I am inmortal and stuff now.

-butwhahow

-Remember Twilight? The purple unicorn? She is the element of magic, and the biggest egghead I've seen in my life. She does not understand it, but none of us got older after we used them for the first time. Princess Celestia said it had something to do with the elements being eternal but everchanging.

Her childhood friend was inmortal. She was a element of harmony, whatever that was. Apparently, Dashie was a friend of the Sun Queen, Celestia Sol Invicta.

Too much.

-But... -She heard Dash giggle a little at her confussion, and that helped her to put some order on her head- I am sorry.

-Why... Oh, that. Dun worry, it happened what, ninety years ago? No bad blood.

-But why... why now?

-Twilight was practicing some kind of "time scrye" spell a few days ago, and asked me for something to see. I was kind of curious about you, so said I your name, and we saw you here-

The door opened, and two griffins entered.

-...mom? Who is she?

-This is Rainbow Dash, Malaquias. She is making a visit.

-Rainbow Dash? As in the one that you talked us about as kids?

-The one and the only.

-Yes, Malaquias.

-But...

-I am inmortal. Elements of harmony. Could we have a few minutes more alone?

-But...

-Malaquias, could you...?

-Yes, mom.

-That's your wife? -Rainbow Dash was looking curiously at the grifoness that acompanied Malaquias.

-...Yes?

-Her colour, I've seen it somewhere... are you family with Videras?

-Yes, but-

-An sekel akel; akel nanai, akel dantil?

-Seretenene bian. Akel sere tenel.

-Kali na nera. Akel Diantelas, Videras e kel.

To the surprise of everyone, they both started laughting at the same time, saying a few more things in that lenguage.

-Sere e nenele. Akel Diantelas, Rainbow Dash, cere Tathin e kel. -Malaquias wife went out of the room, taking his husband with her.

-I did not know that you talked Sekel. It seems I choose a bad moment to be an asshole all that years ago.

-Long story short, there was this evil giant walking mountain that was powered up by this artifact that looked like a big banana. Videras was there and helped us, and he spent some time in ponieville to heal, he teached it to Fluttershy and she teached me.

-Why did you come now?

-You noticed it, didn't you? -Rainbow seemed to be trying to find a way to say something- I wanted to...

-What you saw when your friend scryed to me... I will die soon?

-Yes. I am sorry I didn't come earlier, but Ponieville isn't clo-

-Dun worry, Dashie. I will die, and that's old news by now.

-I know, but you are the last one of my friends that is not dead or inmortal. I wanted to... I dunno. Talk to you for a last time.

-We both know than that isn't the reason. All that years ago, in the flight camp...

-Yes. I know. -Rainbow Dash gulped, but managed to find courage- you want me to do it?

-I think so. It certainly wouldn't hurt me.

Gulping again, Rainbow Dash walked towards her old friend.

-You didn't seem to be so scared whe-

Their mouths touched each other, and Gilda tasted Dash, finally and after so many years. She tasted like air in the morning, like a soft breeze that made flying so much easier... and all too soon, it was interrupted.

-Wow.

-I've had a life of practice, Dash. Did you really think I'd wait you as a pure maiden?

-Wow.

This time it was Gilda who kissed her, and all of that tastes, all of the memories, flooded her again.

-The doctor said... mom? -none of them gave him atention, and his wife pushed him to the waiting room again.

-Gilda... -said Dash when the old griffoness decided to cut it- I am sorry.

-For what?

-For not coming earlier. For not trying to talk you. I am the element of loyalty, I should...

-For not talking to a idiot who insulted your friends?

-You know what I mean.

-Dash, It wouldn't have worked -Gilda let a sigh escape, looking sadly at nothing- We where and we are too alike. We would have just... fighted each day and night, rubbing all of the problems and deffects we share on each other.

-I guess you are right.

A while passed, and they just shared it on silence.

-Dash?

-Yes?

-Thank you. For protecting me from all those kids.

-I had to do it. You and Fluttershy where so sensible back then.

-Still. Element of loyalty, indeed. -another silence passed, and she looked a bit sadder- Go.

-What?

-You have friends back in home. Go with them, laught with them, make more of your pranks... be alive, not dying with me. My life was good, and you made my death happier.

They both shared a last smile, and the cian pegasus flew out again. A second later, a drop of warm water fell on the griffin, who was a little bit colder. Her eyes where closed, looking at the infinite.

An almost imperceptible smile was on her beak.
