Lofting down to the soft clouds below, Spitfire wiped the sweat from her brow. Having finished her routine training plus an extra fifty laps, Spitfire planted her hooves firmly into the cloud, happy to be finished. Her aching muscles carried her to the showers, where many of the other Wonderbolt's were just finishing up. That's was one advantage of the extra training, Spitfire got the showers all to herself. Swatting the swing-open doors aside, Spitfire made her way over to the showers that were lined up on the far side of the restroom.
The blue and white laminate titles shined under the fluorescent lighting. Turning on a shower to allow the water to warm up, Spitfire sat down on one of the benches that lined the lockers, which framed the wall opposite of the showers. Stripping off her googles, Spitfire threw them down on the bench. She pulled the zipper on her Wonderbolt's costume all the way down her chest and across her toned stomach. The spandex uniform put up resistance as the pegasus mare slid it from her sweat slicked coat. Throwing that down on the bench as well, Spitfire took in a deep breath, inhaling the steam from the shower that signified the water was hot.
Spitfire stepped into the shower, letting the hot water wash away her sweat, along with the painful aches in her over worked muscles. Taking a moment to just enjoy herself, Spitfire spread her wings, letting the water roll off her well-preened feathers. Dousing her mane with the steaming water, the pegasus mare thoroughly washed out all the sweat and dirt, leaving her coat, mane, and tail better than new. She flicked the water off, stepping out into the cool bathroom. While the cold tile sent a refreshing shock to Spitfire's system, the fluffy towel was very inviting. Not bothering to dry her mane and tail, the Wonderbolt Captain grabbed her things and headed out.
Spitfire trotted over to her room, which, because it was the Captain's Suite, was separated from the others. While the other members of the Wonderbolt's and the cadets in training got simple, plainly furnished apartments, Spitfire was privileged to live in a lush, two-story home. It was complete with lavish furnishing and well-maintained appliances. The outside was no less ornate. The walls were built up from fog and fluffy clouds, rain gently trickling down the sides of the home. It was completed with every detail in mind. Heading inside, Spitfire dropped her things in her living room, which served more as a trophy case. Nearly every year, the Wonderbolt's won all sorts of medals and prizes in competitions, from as small as local gathering, to as large as the Equestria Games. Just as she was about to head up to her room, a ring of the doorbell caught Spitfires attention. With brisk movements, Spitfire was over at the door, opening it up to see the pony who wished to speak to her.
"Hey Spits," Soarin greeted, standing on the other side of the entry way.
"Come on in. What's up babe?" Spitfire asked.
"I just needed to see your pretty face," Soarin said, stepping inside with a mischievous grin.
"How sweet," Spitfire laughed with a roll of her eyes.
Spitfire walked into the living room, Soarin following not far behind. The two sat down on the yellow couch, which was adorned with blue buttons. Nearly everything in the cloud home was decorated to match the signature colors of the Wonderbolt's. Though it could get a bit old, Spitfire appreciated the consistency.
