Twitcha-twitch with a shudder chaser
The pegusi were doing a good job of keeping the sky clear and Celestia shined the sun brightly overhead. The town was alive with the bustling of active hooves and the chatter of conversing ponies. The day had begun nicely and without incident, as was the usual routine. However, over at Sugarcube corner the day would be anything but "usual".
Left to manage the little bakery was Equestria's best party planner, Pinkie Pie! She smiled as she recalled how excited the cakes were to be visiting family and showing off little Pound and Pumpkin cake. A small bit of pride welled up in her chest as she recalled, much to the astoundment of their parents, the cake twins trying to copy the dancing to the piggy song! It was adorable....until they had to reorder another batch of flour, that is.
The pink and merry pony wasn't alone however. Her friends sat gathered around a counter-top, marveling at the small armada of tins and trays arranged in a literal way mimicking an actual army front formation, with cake tins at the front and cupcake trays at the left and right flanks.
"Yikes, Pinkie! You think you got ENOUGH baking equipment here?", Rainbow Dash chimed out sarcastically.
Pinkie Pie let out a loud gasp and immediately got into the cyan pegasus' face in genuine worry.
"I KNEW IT!!!! You think it's not enough either, don't you?!? MORE CAKE PANS I SAY!!!"
The main six resounded with a chorus of "NO!!!" and raised their hoofs in case they needed to restrain their excited friend. Again.
"Really? Mmmmmm.....Oki-doki-loki~"
Pinkie pie then bounced off to turn on the oven and prepare the mixing bowls. Twilight helped to gather the baking utensils while Applejack and Fluttershy gathered the ingredients. Rarity put the mixers together and Rainbow Dash "tested" the already prepped batches of various frostings that were lined up alongside the tin armada, as well as sampling the edible arrangements and fillings.
A plastic clatter made everypony turn to see what had caused it. A couple of red and pink mixing bowls whirled on their edges to a noisy stop at the hooves of a shuddering Pinkie Pie. Her eyes were wide, with her mouth open in a visibly surprised "O" as she shook in place. A distant sound echoed in her ears, a phrase from an otherworldly voice that was unintelligible except for the last words "...you PARTY!!!", something that was only heard by the pink earth pony.
"What the hay?", Applejack muttered.
"A shudder? Could it be a result to the overwhelming amount of pastries and eventual sugar intake that's building up to another 'doozy'?", analyzed Twilight.
As Pinkie continued to openly vibrate, her fluffy pink tail began to twitch about erratically, knocking over a few utensils and a few more bowls. The group let out a collective gasp.
"EVERYPONY HIT THE DIRT!!!!", cried a frantic Rainbow Dash.
They all yelled out in alarm as they each scattered into a random direction, their survival instincts kicking in at seeing the pink earth pony's tail twitch, or as Pinkie called it, "Twitch-a-twitch"!. Rainbow Dash had barricaded herself under the sink. Twilight and Fluttershy flew up to the biggest cabinets they could reach and hid inside. Rarity bolted for the pantry, letting out a high pitched 'EEP!" when her tail got caught on the door as she climbed inside. Applejack looked around in a panic, stomping her hoofs in place as she felt the unseen countdown reaching close to the wire. Spotting a huge stockpot, the farmer shrugged and leapt at it. They all braced for impact, head between their knees and eyes shut tight.
"OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoHhHh!!! AaAa NnEeEeWw CcCcOoOomMbBoOoOoOoO!!!"
At that precise moment, a loud crash was heard by all. The chaotic sounds of glass breaking, tins clattering, wood snapping and something huge colliding with the linoleum floor could be heard by all, the force of the collision vibrating through their teeth!
Everypony waited for a few moments before carefully coming out of their makeshift shelters, coughing as the dust from the debris hit their muzzles. At the very center of the kitchen was a huge mound of debris and a dizzy looking Pinkie Pie, swaying woozily on her hooves and muttering something along the lines of "But mommy! I wannuh play with thuh funneh soundin' duckie and wabbit! They so silly~". They all came around the mound of mess at the center of the kitchen, then looked skyward to see the gaping hole in the roof overhead.
Using her hat to fan off the remains of the dust cloud Applejack came up to Pinkie with a sympathetic look, coughing slightly.
"Me and Big Mac can fix that fer ya if ya like, Pinkie pie."
"Aww, that'd be super dup-"
The mess began to shift, making eveypony in the room gasp and inch away a bit.
"I-It moved! Sweet Celestia, the thing moved!!", cried the fashionista as she stumbled backwards and climbing onto a countertop, trotting in place and squealing in fright.
"You'd think she just saw a rat somewhere."
"I heard that, Applejack!"
"Good!"
The mess shifted again, more strongly this time and....groaning? Pinkie Pie and Twilight approached the debris and poked at it with a careful hoof. Another groan came from it, sounding more irritated then disoriented.
"T-There's....somepony in there?", Fluttershy mumbled.
Pinkie Pie shrugged and quickly shoved her head into the mess. Judging by her muffled speech, Pinkie was trying to ask the debris what it's name was, told it her name and declared their friendship. This caused the mound to shake again. With a fierce shout, whoever was inside burst upright with their arms outstretched.
"Tyssed, Brother! E fyc cdemm uid uh dra talg, oui pek ETEUD!! (Dammit, Brother! I was still out on the deck, you big IDIOT!!)"
The thing that came out of the mound of debris was tall, loud and furless! It had no coat, but had bare skin and had a crazy looking mane with a blue bandana on. It spoke in an angry tone and coughed out as it dusted itself off, shaking its head the way a dog shakes itself. It looked to have a small amount of dressings on it, nothing more then a skirt and two patches of fabric over its chest. Had it been wounded somehow? It had two big swollen looking bumps where the patches of fabric were. Oh! It even had mismatched colored hooves too! And pretty ribbons wrapped around its arms as well! A long scarf swayed from around its neck like a long, red and yellow mane.
Everypony stared slack-jawed and wide eyed, whereas Pinkie Pie just giggled out in glee and hopped around the tall being.
"Hee Hee Hee! You talk funny! But it's a good funny!"
Realizing something spoke, the being stopped dusting itself long enough to look around.
"F-Fryd?? (W-What??)"
The being looked down to see a smiling pink creature bouncing cheerily around her legs, talking about the various types of good that were good and the like. It bent down at the knees and clapped its hand on the top of the bouncing things head to stop it from bouncing anymore, an odd sounding squeak coming from its hair.
"P-Pinkie Pie! Be careful!", cried Twilight.
"Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name?"
"Uh.....I'm Rikku."
"Oh, wow! You're not talking funny anymore. Oki-doki-loki! Nice to meetcha, Rikku! We're gonna be great friends! Girls! Girls! Girls! Come say Hi to Rikku!"
Pinkie Pie waved her hooves excitedly, signaling for her friends to join them. Rikku looked around and noticed the multi-colored creatures coming from every which way. Normally if strange things were encircling her it meant bad things. However, seeing this little pink bundle of joy bounce around so excitedly, she just felt slightly nervous.
An orange colored creature approached her first, wearing a brown hat. It had blonde hair like her!
"Uh, Howdy there, stranger! Name's Applejack. Mighty nice meetin' ya!"
Rikku bends at the knees to be at eye level with the creature. From the sound of its voice Rikku could tell it was a girl. They all were!
"Oh! Hi there. Nice to meetcha! Sweet hat too!"
Applejack smiles pleasantly and thanks her. Rarity and Fluttershy come up alongside their friend and stutter out a nervous greeting as well. Twilight then approaches, alongside a cautious Rainbow Dash, and also greets the new....pony?
"Hello there...Rikku, right?"
Rikku nods to the lavender alicorn as a bouncing Pinkie Pie chatters on excitedly in the background.
"What...exactly are you?"
"Uuum......I'm an Al Bhed. But, uh, what exactly are all of you supposed to be?"
The group of friends look to each other before Twilight answers.
"We're ponies."
Rikku blinks, perplexed.
"Crud...."

Not done with this one yet, so keep an eye out! :D Got inspired as I was playing "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remix", and I gotta say, I'm enjoying this!!! ^^ Stay tuned, kiddies~ *cackle*
