She was a fragile mare that can get hurt very easily. It was her daughter's birthday in three weeks and she still hadn't found a descent gift. "Step right up and look at this marvel of a thing." a pony in a white shirt with red stripes and a flat brimmed & topped straw hat with a red ribbon tied around it said. Winter walks up to see what the big deal is about. If it could be a cute gift for her daughter, she might as well take it. She squeezes by a couple stallions to get a better look. "You will have to see it to believe it." one of the ponies. It was a diamond pendent,. "Um... excuse me, but what's so important about it." Winter said, but she found it quite beautiful. Almost like something that Midnight would have brought home. "Well little filly, this hear pendent is from the Nightmare Night witch after Nightmare Moon was banished." the other pony said. "Do I hear 20 bits." the other said. Winter thought for a moment, the said, "but the Pendants the wrong color and it was already raided by my husband. He's the tomb raider Nightshade. Still I'd give you fifteen for it, which is more then enough for a fake." Winter didn't actually know if it was fake, but the looks she was getting means that they don't know either. Winter continued to smile, it made the others think she knew what she was talking about. "Sold to the white Pegasus mare." the pony said. Winter payed the fifteen and took the Amulet. Now she finally had a good gift for her daughter. Just as Winter was exiting the crowd a winter blue Pegasus with a snow white mane ran right into Winter "Oh I am so so so sorry, I-I-I I'm so sorry, I really have been paying more attention to where I was going. I'm Winter by the way." The Pegasus told Winter. "It's okay, my name is Winter Rose." Winter said smiling. She got a bruise from the bump. She didn't let it show that it hurt though. "I haven't seen you in Ponyville before. Are you new?" She said. "Oh yea I am new hear, but I live with a friend out of town though." Winter told Winter Rose as she got up and helped Winter Rose up. "How nice, I've lived here ever since I first met my husband as a filly." Winter Rose said. She already liked the new mare. "Well I would love to stay and chat but I got to get flying." Winter told Winter Rose as she flapped her wings and waved to her. Winter Rose waved back and walked home. Nightshade wasn't home and her daughter was still at school. "I should start dinner." Winter Rose said and walked into the kitchen. Just as she entered the kitchen a knock at the front door, Winter walked over to the door and opened it and saw a large prepackage, she darted her eyes around looking for whoever left it hear. Winter couldn't find who sent it, so she brought it in and opened it. It was a cloud that didn't float around, and a note was under the cloud. It read "Found out that your daughters B-Day is coming up so I sent a little something for her, don't worry its just a training cloud, well that's what I was told it was, so anyway hope your daughter likes it <3 :) ~Winter" "Aww! How sweet. I'll be sure to tell her thanks." Winter said And closed it. She wrapped it up as a present. Then she wrapped up the pendant, placing the gifts in the master bedroom so her daughter won't see it yet. Just as she was exiting the bedroom Sky Lilly came though the front door home from school. "Oh, welcome back dear!" Winter said smiling. "Hi mommy! Wild and Red are so goofy." Lily said giggling. "Oh? What did those two colts do?" Winter asked smiling. It wasn't time for her gifts. "They wouldn't stop glaring at each other. After Red hugged me, Wild pulled him away. Then the glaring happened the entire day." Lily replied smiling. Just after she said that something came crashing into the window. "Derpy!!!!!! Ugh now we're... I'm going to have to pay for any damage you caused, why can't you pay more attention." A familiar voice yelled. "Hold on, I'll be right back." Winter Rose said And walked outside. Then Squealed like a filly when she saw Derpy. Winter then hugged the clumsy mare. "Oh, its good to see you. How have you been?" Winter Rose asked smiling. "Trying to cloud bust." Winter said with a flat tone and look. "Oh Winter, that was a thoughtful gift for my daughter! But you know her birthday is in three weeks right?" Winter Rose asked while still hugging Derpy. "Yea I know that now. Guess who told me just barley that it was in three weeks." Winter told Winter Rose pointing towards Derpy Hooves. "you know, Derpy and I met in flight school. Even before I met my husband." Winter Rose said And Lily flew out of the house to hug Derpy. "Auntie Derpy!" The filly squealed happily. "Oh so this must be the famous Sky Lilly." Winter said as she landed to give Sky Lilly a hoof bump. "Yep, First name Lily, second name Sky! I can even hover now!" Lily said. "Well I hear your B-Day is coming up in three weeks, Thank you Derpy for just telling me." Winter said to Sky Lilly and yelled to Derpy. Derpy chuckled a bit. "Sorry I'm just so excited to see Lily turn seven. It'll be so fun." Derpy said And hugged Lily tightly. Winter Rose just giggled at the situation. "Auntie Derpy! It's hard to breathe!" Lily said And Derpy let go. "Oh well, so Sky I hear your almost seven hummmmm well that's old enough to be a wonder bolt." Winter said chuckling to herself at the joke that nopony else got. "But I don't want to be a Wonderbolt. I want to make flowers grow on clouds. I think Cloudsdale while be nicer with flowers that will live longer then ones brought from down here." Lily said smiling. "I was making a joke that my sister told me. But Sky that is a vary nice thing that you want to do." Winter told the smiling filly. Lily giggles happily accepting the compliment. "Is Winter having a girl's tea party?" A stallion with a charcoal black coat and a crimson red mane walked up, he was a Earth pony with a light brown jacket and a black fedora. Lily ran up and hugged him. "Welcome back Daddy!" Lily said giggling. "Oh hi you must Sky's Dad, I'm Winter." She said happily to the stallion. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Winter Rose woke up curled up into Nightshade's chest. It was the next day and she had to force herself to get out of the warmth of Nightshade's chest and her bed to get Lily ready for school. She went to the kitchen and started to make Breakfast and Lunch for Lily. A knock came at the door when she was half way done with the meals. She opened the door to see her new friend Winter at the front door. "Oh, your a life saver. Can you take Lily to school. I don't have the energy to do it." Winter Rose said then yawned. She rather be in bed with her stallion. "Sure of course I can." Winter replied happily and with a smile. And as soon as she said that Lilly came running out faster than a bullet. "Whoa where do you think your going this early in the morning, and how in Luna's name do you have this much energy this early?" Winter asked the young pegasus. "Red is bringing breakfast and lunch for Wild and me! I have to hurry and get to school before it starts." Lily replied smiling. "But you have an hour before school starts... Oh forget it. I'm going to back to bed and curl up into Nightshade." Winter Rose said And closed the door. "Ok you go do that Rose, as for you little filly don't start jumping off cliffs before your wings fly, that was what my mom and dad always told me." Winter said. "Well hurry up, I have to get there! You have to meet my friends!" Lily said pulling Winter and giggling. "Fine then." Winter said to the filly trying and failing to pull her anywhere. When they made it to the school, two Colts were sitting on a clothe with meals already set up. The school wasn't open yet so they still had time. One of the Colts was a unicorn with a dark blue coat and a dark red mane. The other was an earth pony with a brown coat and a black mane. "There they are Winter! Come on!" Lily said giggling and fluttering of the ground. "Hey I didn't know you had two boyfriends." Winter said laughing under a wing. Lily stopped fluttering and blushed hard while looking away. "T-they aren't my b-boyfriends, they are my b-best friends." Lily replied nervously. "Come on Lilly it was just a joke hash." Winter said to the young pegasus as she wrapped her with one of her wings. Lily looked up at Winter and then to her hooves. She breathed to calm her heartbeat, which made her blush go way. "Better now." Winter said to Lily who was still looking at her hooves. Lily looked back up and silently nods. "What ya cant speak now." Winter said laughing under her breath. "You got thoughts in my head and I'm hungry." Lily replied. "Ok then then lets eat." Winter told Lily and chuckled. Lily smiled and ran up to the two colts. "Hey guys, I want you to meet someone." Lily said giggling. The unicorn colt instantly put a hoof over Lily's shoulder. "I'd love to meet her, I'd meet anypony you introduce." The unicorn said smiling brightly. The earth pony then pulled the unicorn away from Lily. "Control yourself fangboy." The earth pony said glaring at the unicorn. "I was, why don't you go play some fetch somewhere pooch?" The unicorn said glaring back and Lily started to giggle. "OK I have seen allot of dog fights but never with colts, oh and Lily this is a sure fire way that they both like you." Winter said laughing not even trying to hide it. Lily stopped giggling and blushed hard. "R-red, W-wild... this is Winter... she's my mother's new friend." Lily said looking away to hide her blush. The two Colts look at Winter. "Hi! The names Red Moon! Oh, and this moron next to me is Wild Hunt." The unicorn said smiling friendly. "Hey! I can introduce myself and who ya calling a moron you idiot!" The earth pony snapped angrily. "Hey, hey, hey, boys why don't we say this nether of you two are aloud to call each other a moron or and idiot ok." Winter said taking control of the situation. "don't ask the impossible. I can't imagine them without the glaring and namecalling." Lily said giggling. Red instantly hugged Lily. "Your laugh is definitely the cutest, I could nibble on you!" Red said happily and was pulled away by Wild. "There will be no nibbling fangboy." Wild said with a glare and Lily giggled again before starting to eat the food that Red brought. "Oh now I see, you know I've seen all sorts of ponies, shadow, dragon, channeling, humans." Winter said laughing but muffling the last word with her wing so nopony heard it. "What do you mean?" Lily asked confused. The two Colts continued to glare at each other as they ate. "Oh so you must not know what they are, it's one of the main reasons they fight." Winter said to Lily as both the colts went immediately to glaring at winter with worry on there expression "Um... What do you mean?" Lily asked still confused. Red stepped in front of Winter. "Oh, it's nothing, just a little rivalry between Wild and me... heh heh." Red said nervously hoping she buy it. "Mmm... Okay if that's why you fight." Lily said giggling. The two Colts let out a sigh of relief. "Really ok then if you want to keep it a secret that's your choice." Winter said as she stretched her wings up and out. "Secret?" Lily asked confused again. Both Colts glared at Winter. "Hey just doing my job." Winter said as she gave a mysterious smile. "Can I get some answers." Lily asked while trying to figure it out. "Don't ask me." Winter said still with a simile. Red smiled and laughed nervously. "Well I'm caught, pooch and I are competing on getting a better gift for your birthday." Red said nervously and Wild facehoofed. Winter had been around these things before so she "tried" to approach the situation carefully "Really that's the best you can do." Winter blurted out between laughs. "Your not helping me!" Red shouted at Winter in frustration. "I know that, don't get your fangs in a twist." Winter said smiling at the still frustrated Red. "Fangs? What do you mean Winter?" Lily asked cluelessly. "You boys honestly didn't tell her. Welp that's your problem now." Winter said laughing.
