Can You Hear My Sweetie Bells?

Chapter 5: Fall, Rumble, Crash, Boom

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was the night after Sweetie's, uh, "death," and she already had plans for Ponyville. Big plans. After Sweetie had her complete transformation, she was swept up of any emotion. The only thing she could feel was pride in what she was doing. She couldn't feel satisfaction though. That will be explained as well. That night, Sweetie Belle went to Pinkie's place. She snuck through the walls and found her way to Pinkies room. It was filled with balloons, cupcakes, and a bunch of stuff that was "happy" themed. Sweetie was utterly disgusted. If she was back to normal, she would of asked Pinkie to have her birthday party in that room. Now, she would ask Pinkie if she could fill it with lava from the fires of tartarus. Sweetie Belle looked around the room without waking Pinkie, and found a small pink box. She opened it, and found exactly what she was looking for. The exact location of the rock farm she lived on. Sweetie ran to the train station, looked at the map, and started to fly across the tracks. It wasn't tiring, since she was practically a ghost. Sweetie finally made it to the rock farm.

"Here I come, Marble Pie."

Sweetie Belle walked into the house, and there wasn't a sound as she did so. When she got up to Marble's room, she wasn't there.

"Oh darn!" She squeaked.
"Wait."

She turned around, and saw another door.

"Hehe. Limestone Pie."

She walked through the door, and saw Limestone laying in her bed.

"I hope your parents said goodnight." She softly giggled.

"Silent mare in a silent night..."

Sweetie's needle started to glow.

"Silent ponies flying kites..."

She very lightly poked Limestone with her needle. Limestone stopped breathing.

"And with one touch, my job is done." She giggled, and hurried back to Ponyville.
"Aw, I broke a rule. I was supposed to start in Ponyville."

As she thought, she bumped in to a wall. I guess even though she can walk through them, she can still be clumsy.

"Ouch."

It was Rumble's house.

Sweetie Belle cleared up the foggy window, and saw Rumble's parents sitting on the living room couch. His dad sat with a broken look on his face, and he stroked his mom's mane as she cried on his lap, clutching a photo of Rumble.

"What the..." Sweetie put her hoof on the area around her eye.
"Why is my face wet?"

She used her other hoof to touch the other side of her face.

"I-I'm all wet!"
"Am I... crying?" she weeped.
"What the tartarus.."

She wasn't even supposed to have emotion. She wiped the tears and ran to the next house. Over and over again, she sang her lullaby, and softly cooed the sisters of Ponyville to eternal sleep along with the touch of an enchanted needle. By morning, ponies' TV's were blowing up with news about all the deaths. Princess Celestia even came to honor the great amount of deaths. Sweetie watched the ceremony in from the outskirts of town. The deaths didn't sadden her. If anything, she needed more. She wasn't satisfied.

For the next month, she slowly killed of every sister in Ponyville. All except for one. She took pride in each death, but she was never satisfied. She didn't count Twilight, because she was still stronger. Much stronger. She didn't know why, but after the ceremony, she went to Rumble's house. She put her right hoof on the right side of her face. Once again, there were tears. But only on the right side. She felt a hoof on the other side, that had dried her tears. She jumped and turned around.

"R-R-R-R-Rumble?"
"Hey..."

Rumble was standing right there, in front of her. But it was different. He was slightly see-through. But other than that, he looked the same.

"Uh, I thought I-"
"You did. It was very very very painful, by the way."
"Yeahh, sorry."
"Sorry?"
"Well... It's confusing."
"Wait," Sweetie started.
"Why are you here?"

Rumble let out a sigh.

"I could have gone straight to heaven, but I thought this was more important."
"What?" Sweetie's emotions got the best of her. She needed to know.
"What, Rumble, what??"

He took a deep breath.

"Mako blackmailed me into breaking up with you. For the past month that we were dating before we broke up, he would beat me up after school. I would always hurry to see you, and try to make it unnoticeable."
"Rumble.."
"One day he got out of hand and he wanted to be with you. He wanted to use you. So... I got into a fight with him. Of course, he won. Knowing he's so buff, it was kinda stupid to even try. But I wanted to protect you. He made a deal that he'd stay away from the both of us if I broke up with you. I never thought it would be so serious for you- so hard on you."

He looked up at Sweetie Belle. She looked like a monster.

"Sweetie, what the tartarus happened to you?"
"...I don't know."
"What did you do to-"
"I don't know!"

She accidentally let out a black beam at Rumble.

"AH!"

He fell backwards, hitting his head on the fountain. How did he hit his head being a spirit? Who knows? But it sure did happen.

"Rumble!"

She picked him up and lead him to his house again. It was literally a few steps away. He saw through the window.

"Mom.." He smiled. Then he started to cry.
"I was fighting with her the night before I died. And now!"

He fell to the ground with his head in his hoofs. It probably would have been best to leave him alone, so she did. Hopefully they would talk again. Sweetie knew that she had become a monstrous ghost. She walked through Ponyville's peaceful night.

Silent she thought.
"I'm a monster." She said.
"I've killed so many innocent lives."
"I'm not sweet." tears started to come down, as some how, a smile came across her face.
"Cuz I'm a freakin' demon."
