Photo op moves to canterlot.
chapter 1: the move.
Load Full StoryIt was a bright and sunny day in ponyville, but to photo op, a light blue unicorn with a camera as a cutiemark, it seemed as if a single dark gray cloud lingered over his head. All he knew was ponyville, all his friends and family are here. His dad just recently got a new job offering, and he took it. This meant that photo op was moving, to were you ask? Canterlot. As he packed up his belongings a knock came from his door. The colt opened it to find a much shorter filly named scootaloo. Photo op, and scootaloo have been friends for a very long time, and now they were in high school. And when scootaloo found out photo op was leaving, she had to say goodbye. "Why didn't you tell me you were leaving?" she said trying to hold back the tears that had been building up behind her eyes. "I was going to..." scootaloo stopped him mid sentence, "you told everyone else first! Why would you tell me last?" Photo op didn't know what to say, he just stood there, mouth open trying to find the right words to say. "I was going to tell you, but it was hard." Photo op looked down, dragging his hoof in a circle. He looked up to see the tears scootaloo had built up start to over flow out of behind her eyes. "Do you want to come in?" Scootaloo nodded. Box's were stacked high, wall to wall, all filled with eather clothes or computer equipment. Photo op was messy, at least to scootaloo he was, to photo op the mess was fine. "So, were are you moving to photo?" Photo op stopped packing and looked at scootaloo, "canterlot." Her eyes widened, "what kind of job would your dad get there?" Scootaloo picked up a keyboard on the ground and handed it to photo op. "Royal guard." Scootaloo kept handing him stuff on the floor, "wow royal guard huh, that's epic!" Photo op shrugged, "I guess, but im going to miss living here, were all my friends are. Plus he is not getting the job right away, he has training to go through." He paused, "I just wished he said no to the offer, I don't want to go." Photo op placed the last peace of technology in a box, which happened to be his camera. Outside, a tall, light gray colt, pulled a long wooden cart up to the front of photo ops house. Both photo op and scootaloo heard this and peared out the window, "oh, my dad is here.." photo op had a sad look in his eyes. He knew it was time to go. As the last box was placed on the cart photo op turned around to see his best friend tearing up. "Look, I will be back, I promise!" Scootaloo wiped tears from her eyes. "I know, but your not going to visit for a long time." Photo op new she was right, but he wanted to keep his head held high. Well, as much as he could that is. "I got to go now," photo op and scootaloo hugged, "but we will see each other again! I swear." They stopped hugging, tears in there eyes. Photo op jumped on the back of the cart with his mom, and sat down for the long trip to his new "home." The trip was bumpy, and took a long time. By the time photo op and his family reached there destination they all could have used a nap, but, they needed to unpack. Photo op was very slow with unpacking, thinking about his friends back in ponyville. He constantly thought that why his father couldn't have been a royal guard for princess twillight, why does he have to be a guard for celestia and luna. It made him mad that his parents would drag him away from what he knew, what he loved, just for a job that paid the same. Now, he will be going to a new school, with a bunch of rich stuck up kids he will hate. His plan was to make no friends, and stick to himself. When he moved it was a sunday, which meant the next day was a Monday, that means school. His dad dropped him off in front of the tall, fancy, building. Lined with royal guards. They were strict here, they made you were clothes according to there standards. Photo ops family didn't have enough money for the fancy clothing all the rich kids wore, so photo op had to wear cheap clothing instead. This was not a problem back in ponyville, but here, it mattered. As he pushed through the front doors he saw a sea of kids walking around each other, talking to each other, laughing with each other. No one noticed photo op, the new kid. He wanted to stick to his plan, keep to himself, and dont worry about friends. He just wanted to focus on school, and nothing else. Aside from not having as much money as the other students in his school, there was one other thing the students could bully him for. He was gay. He liked colts, nothing he could do. Back in ponyville everyone excepted him for who he is, but here, he felt otherwise. Deep in his thoughts, he almost didnt hear the bell for first hour. His first class was English 3, he hated English. The classroom was about the same size as the highschool in ponyville. There was one Big difference, his friends weren't there. He saw a nice seat in the back of the class, and took a seat in it. The chairs and desks felt different, they felt like metal, thats because they were. Back in ponyville the chairs and desks were wooden. A middle aged mare trotted in through the door after the bell rang to start school. All the students sitting in there seats, not paying any attention to photo op. "Alright class," she looked down at her class roll chart, "oh, looks like we have a new student today, is a mr.photo op here?" Photo op raised his hoof slowly, and quietly saying "here" all the students turned to look at the shy student sitting in the corner. "Oh, well hi, will you please come up here? And introduce yourself to the class." Photo op didnt want to, but for some reason his legs thought otherwise. He slowly got up out of his chair and slowly walked up to the front of the class. "Go ahead honey, introduce your self." Photo op took a deep breath, not wanting to give to much of himself away he spoke very shortly, "my name is photo op, my special talent is photography, and I come from ponyville." Photo op started to head back to his desk, "thank you photo op, now.." the teachers voice became distant as he made it back to his seat. The rest of the class he heard other students whispering about him, saying things like "eww, he's from ponyville." Or "he looks gay." He just started this school, and already was being bullied. At photo op's new school the lunches were separated by letters, they had A B or C lunch. I had C lunch. Photo op normaly brings his lunch, but he decided just to eat at the school today. He waited In a long line for about 15 minutes, waiting to get his food. He was not used to this, he was used to sitting down, and eating. Once he got his food he had to find a seat. As he scanned the Cafeteria he saw a colt waving him down. He slowly walked over to him, wandering if the colt was waving him down or waving another pony down. He was wrong, the colt was waving photo op down, and asked him to sit with him. "Hey, my name is Browning." He was a light brown earth pony, with a video camera as a cutiemark. "Hi, im photo op." He sat down across from Browning, "I know your name, we have first hour together." Photo op took a bite out of his hay burger, thinking why did this colt want to talk to a new guy. And didnt I promise myself I would keep to myself? lunch was almost over, and photo op broke the promise he made with himself. The whole lunch period was spent getting to know his new friend, Browning. Photo op barely eat his food, he was to busy talking to Browning. He feared that he was falling for him, he didnt want his little secret to get out into the school. it was last period, school was almost over. And all photo op was thinking about was his new found friend. Everything else was just a blur at this point. "Photo op. Photo op? PHOTO OP!" The teacher yelled at him, "the bell rang, you are free to go." Photo op shook his head and gathered his stuff up and trotted out the door. many of the ponies watched him as he left the building, giggling, and pointing at him. "Hey! Fagget!" A unfamiliar voice yeld out, Photo op stopped and turned around. A tall, buff, pony wad walking up to him, "hey, so your new here huh?" Photo op took a deep breath, "ya, im new here, why do you care?" By now ponies have started to gather in a circle around them both. "I care because your poor, and a gay fagget!" Photo op just stood there looking into the bullies eyes, "how do you know im 'gay'." The bully got closer, because I can just tell." Photo op shook his head, "you see ignorant buffoons like you who make me sick! How can you tell someone is gay just by looking at them! God, your stupider than you look." The bully stared at photo op, the rest of the growing crowed started to laugh. Photo op was about to speak again but was cut off by a hoof to the jaw. Photo op woke up at home, in a daze, with his parents standing over him, "oh good, he is awake." Photo op couldnt see who said that, his vision was still a little blurry, but by the sound of the voice he knew it was his mother. "I came home as soon as I heard what happened, do you remember what happened?" It took Photo op a couple of seconds before he could really get a grasp of what was going on, "A pony was bulling me, and I bad mouthed him, so he punched me..." There was a knock on the door as soon as photo op finished his sentence. "I will get it." His mom walked out of the room, his dad followed. He heard his parents talking to what sounded like a colt, but photo op couldnt figure out who it was. "Photo op, honey, one of your friends is here to see you." Photo op was shocked, he didnt know he had any friends. A light brown earth pony walked into the room, keeping eye contact with photo op. "Hey mom, dad, can we have some privacy?" Photo ops parents looked at each other and shrugged. "Sure honey." His mom said walking out of the room. "Hey photo op, you ok? I cant believe that guy did that to you." Browning walked over to photo ops bed, "may I?" Browning was motioning to get in the bed. "Sure." Photo op moved his hoofs to make room for browning. Browning made his way up on the bed, and layed next to photo op. Both of them now looking each other in the eyes. "Why did you come here?" Photo op pulled more cover onto him, trying to hide what was happening underneath the blanket. Browning chuckled, "what? I cant see how a friend is doing." Photo op started blushing, which was followed by an awkward silence. Both of the colts stared at each other, and the "thing" under the blanket photo op was trying to hide was not being hid anymore. Browning leaned in and kissed photo op, there lips locked, and photo op couldnt be happier. "Oh my god! What are you to doing!!" Photo ops parents burst in, making photo op jump out of bed, putting his secret out for all to see. Browning chuckled and blushed at the site of it. Photo op was embarrassed, and his parents were in complete shock. Photo op turned to look at browning who was off the bed by this time, "browning, out! And I never want to see you and my son together again!" Photo ops dad yelled loud enough for the neighbors to hear. As browning left, photo op sat down on the floor and began to cry.
