Dreams Aren't Always So Distant
It was a cool Saturday afternoon and Dash was flying high above Ponyville when the unbelievable happened. She saw the Wonderbolts flying toward Cloudsdale like she was. She sped up next to Spitfire and said
"Hey, Spitfire! You remember me?" Spitfire stares at Dash for a moment as though trying to remember her name, a look of glee flashed on her face as she said
"You're the pony that saved all of us, and was the first to accomplish the sonic rainboom!"
"I sure am!" Rainbow said proudly, Dash could feel the happiness swelling within her, like a volcano ready to erupt. She saw Cloudsdale. They were flying toward the city, Rainbow marveled at the Rainbow Factory as they flew by, on their way to the market.
"Spitfire, would you mind if hung out with you and the other Wonderbolts?" Asked Rainbow nervously, she hadn't expected to ask so quickly but it just slipped out.
"Not at all." said Spitfire. Rainbow giggled as she felt the butterflies go away, she couldn't believe she was finally going to spend the day with the Wonderbolts! They touched down on Cloudsdale, but Dash didn't want to walk, she wanted to fly with Spitfire and the Wonderbolts forever.
Dash recognized a shy yellow pony with a long pink mane.
"Fluttershy!" Rainbow yelled. Dash then turned to Spitfire "Will you excuse me a moment?" Rainbow then galloped over to Fluttershy
"FLUTTERSHY!! IM WITH THE WONDERBOLTS!!" Fluttershy shyly looked past Rainbow and saw Spitfire conversing with the other Wonderbolts. Before she knew it Fluttershy was being drug over to Spitfire by her hoof. Dash looked at Spitfire and said
"This is Fluttershy, we went to flight school together." Fluttershy just stared at her hooves.
"Hi, Fluttershy, I'm Spitfire." Fluttershy wouldn't look up, despite Dash's attempts to console her.
"Well you're a..quiet...pony." Spitfire then grinned and said "Could you do me a favor, Fluttershy?"
"Oh..sure, Spitfire" she said finally looking up at Spitfire.
"Could you give me a moment to speak with Dash privately?" Spitfire asked. Fluttershy nodded and got up. She walked over to a nearby shop and started looking at different vegetables and holding up a book muttering something about a "Special dinner for Angel" and that she needs fresh vegetables.
"Okay, Dash, I need to run some things by Soarin, then I have a question for you." Spitfire said as she grinned. Rainbow turned, walked over to Fluttershy and started talking to her about Angels special meal. Then a minute or two later, Spitfire yelled for her to come over, and Spitfire had a look on her face that told Dash that something was up.
"Now Rainbow Dash, I have an extremely important question for you." Spitfire asked. Dash felt her heart jump, were they going to ask what Dash was thinking?
"Would you like to be an official member of the Wonderbolts?" Spitfire asked.
"With your speed and skill, we could do amazing things!" Right then and there Dash felt as though she would stop breathing altogether.
"ABSOLUTLY!!!" Dash gasped, her dream had finally become reality, she was going to be a member of the Wonderbolts!
Rainbow Dash leaped for joy, and ran over to Fluttershy, almost knocking her over in her excitement. "I'M AN OFFICIAL WONDERBOLT!!" Dash exclaimed.
"T-Thats great, Dash...I'm happy for you." Fluttershy said shyly. Rainbow felt like she was going to explode from happiness. Rainbow turned to see Spitfire and Soarin walking up to her.
"Hey, Rainbow." Spifire was now standing in front of her
"We need to go to Rarity's Boutique, she gave us a good idea, and we think you'll like it." Spitfire and Soarin led her out of the market and starting flying to ponyville. Rainbow was flying next to Spitfire and Soarin was on her other side. She was one of the Wonderbolts!
They landed in front of the Boutique and walked inside. Rarity turned to face them and said
"Rainbow Dash, I've been expecting you to come today! You're a Wonderbolt!" She walked over to Rainbow and started measuring her.
"I'm making you a special Wonderbolts uniform." She said happily. Rainbow stayed as still as she could, after all, she doesn't want Rarity to mess up the measurements and have her uniform flawed.
"I'm so happy for you Rainbow Dash!" said Rarity as she walked over to a piece of parchment and started sketching a uniform. Rainbow tried to look at it, but every time she'd get close, Rarity would move in front of her and say
"Its a surprise, Rainbow!"
"Okay, Rainbow, let's leave Rarity to her work." Spitfire said leading Rainbow out of the Boutique.
"Come back tomorrow, I'll try to have it done as quickly as possible!" Rarity yelled to Rainbow.
"Thanks, Rarity!!" Dash yelled into the Boutique, then she happily flew away with the other Wonderbolts. As they approached Ponyville, Spitfire and Soarin started veering off To the opposite direction.
"Soarin and I are gonna go home, you should go and rest too!" Spitfire yelled to her.
Rainbow nodded and flew to her house. As she flew through the air, a million thoughts were crossing her mind at once. She could hardly contain herself. She was a Wonderbolt now! She touched down in front of her house onto a cloud. She walked in and fell onto her bed. Feeling exhausted from all the events of today, she felt herself drifting off to sleep, but something wouldn't let her just yet. She stood up and started looking around her house for something to preoccupy herself with, she grabbed a carrot from her cupboard and ate it, she just couldn't stop thinking about the amazing things she could do as a Wonderbolt. She imagined herself in a Wonderbolts uniform flying in the Cloudsdale Coliseum, all her friends in the stands cheering for her. She decided against herself to go and lay down on her bed. The instant she was on the bed she fell asleep.
