Eclipse Shadow is one of the best in the Royal Guards. He's loyal, strong and highly dedicated to the Two Royal Sisters. He also happens to be Princess Twilight Sparkle's personal bodyguard and friend.

When they both go to a meeting within the Saddle Arabian desert with her son Solar Flare in tow, they expect a fairly routine visit. Unfortunately, their train gets attacked, and Twilight gets kidnapped. At the heart of it all is an old foe from Eclipse's past.

Now, Eclipse Shadow needs to show Solar Flare that it's not all gold and glory in the Royal Guards. For if he wants to join them, he'll need to learn that at the end of the day, there's only one standing.

A/N: This story takes place well before Season Four. Twilight is a princess, but the Tree of Harmony makes no appearance in my story. Also, if there are any FlashLight haters out there, I'm sorry. It just seemed to work the best for the story.
