The Legacy of English Bill: The Duck of Death

by WafflesthePancakeMoglin
Knowing full well he was going to lose, English Bill thought that it would be a waste his powers if he just let himself be bested. So, before the Battle of Boot Hill, he payed one human a little visit, and "donated" most of his power. Probl

"Darkmoor." That is what he told me. That is where his life was changed forever. It sounded like a nice place, if you don't mind all the Vampires (and no, not those ridiculous 'sparkle in the sunlight' ones, REAL Vampires), Necromancers, Witches, Broodmothers, Dark Spirits… well, you get the idea. Dark, evil stuff. Anyway, after a little bit of information exchange, I realized that he and I were not so different. We were both betrayed by those we thought higher of, though in his case, it was due to money. He wanted revenge, so he went in search of more power. Power. That is what sold me on the deal. He had a proposition: Hold onto the dark spirits that gave him is problem, and all I needed to do survive.
Really? That's all? I had asked what the catch was, but there was none. Simple enough, I guess. Just have to avoid silver like the plague. So I was given most of his power, which had more of an affect on me than just the inability to die (unless silver was involved). Seems more than just his power was given to me. Thankfully, that one thing was all… however, that one thing was going to alienate me for eternity (Quite literally). While I was not a duck, I was still turned into a creature of the avian family. A crow. Kind of fitting. So, as the years passed, and civilizations rose and fell, I was there, watched it all. Been there, done that. Killed some, saved others. But, after a nasty little outbreak of some plant plague (named creeper, which was really a good one, considering it looked and acted exactly like Creeper from… well, not going to spoil that, you can guess what that is from yourself… or maybe not, that old war game is like centuries old now), and a wide spread panic, the world went BOOM, and now I find myself walking around a Fallout-esque world while many other survived by holding out in bunkers… and by others, I mean what ever was left of the human race, some leftover Chimera that managed to live the Great Fall (and learned to coexist with others), Ophidians (snake people), and a bunch of other things. The newest to add to that list that never saw the bombs drop… uhh… are some kind of bipedal quadrupeds… ponies? Meh, couldn't really care much for them even if I tried. Any who, they are currently trying to salvage what is left of this rock and rebuild civilization. As for me…

NOCK NOCK NOCK

"Ugh…"

… I am starting to realize why I could care less for those things…

The year is whatever the average being would care to say, and since their arrival, they have taken an immediate interest in me… and from that day forward, every evening, they would try and talk to me…

It's been 1187 days since their arrival, and if you can correctly guess HOW MANY BLASTED TIMES THEY'VE CHECKED UP ON ME… ahem, got a little carried away there… I will give you a cookie… one that is to die for
