//-------------------------------------------------------// Late Nights -by tanflash- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Rough Wake Up Call //-------------------------------------------------------// A Rough Wake Up Call Starlight heard voices breaking through the blackness but he was too far gone to understand them. After what seemed like hours of this he was pulled back into the darkness. This happened many times every time it did he was able to make out more of the conversations around him "When will he be fully recovered?" one voice said "Unsure his vitals seem normal but we don't have a base reading for him. And don't even get me started on his--" a mares voice replied. Starlight blacked out before he could he anymore. what the fuck? Where the hell am I? Starlight thought to himself after he woke up or died he couldn't tell because the room he was in was so dark or the light at the end of hies tunnel couldn't be seen yet. This is fucking weird I know im awake but i can't move. Actually i could care less about that. Then a light turned on some where behind him. "Hey is anyone out there?" he paused and waited for a response. "Yo, can i get some help over here. Yeah I'm awake," Starlight paused and waited a bit longer this time. When there was no reply he started to panic. His mind began to drift back to the last conscious moment. He reran the events in his head. He met the mare who turned out to be a demon changed to her true from right in front of him there was the first explosion when she first changed, that one threw him across the room. Then the second which really confused him. It came out of no where and was really cause by nothing in the room as far as he knew. "HEY!! IS ANYONE FUCKING THERE!?" He said as the silence finally got to him. "I'm kinda tired of waiting," Finally there was a light but Starlight wasn't really sure where it was coming from. He looked around the room, all as much he could look around with his current restraints added to the pain he felt with almost every little movement he made. The light seemed to always just out of his vision It's almost as if I'm the light source. He thought to himself, that's when he heard the voice fro inside the room. "Good your finally wake, I wont delay this wont take long, don't worry" It said in a stallion's static filled voice, almost as if it where the first inercome system of all time. "Dude worrying doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about this sketchy ass situation," "Good then we can get started," said i second voice this one sounded like it belonged a mare. "Didn't I tell you not to say anything till i finished and you could ask your questions," the stallion's voice asked "Well yes but--" "Sorry to break up the debate of protocol or whatever you two call this," Starlight interrupted. "But the patient on the table would like two things and in this order: To get off the table and some food and water," "Ah yes.. Now where was the button to release the restraints?" said the stallion. "The green button next to you left hoof," the mare said. "Thank you," There was a click and starlight felt more free. "As for the food well get it for you as soon as we are done here. Now for the first question: Do you feel any strange pain?" "What the fuck kind of question is that?! I just fucking woke up up in a dark room in a place that I don't know so any pain i feel is strange!" "Note the aggression in his voice clearly more towards demon," "Or maybe you just dont know how to ask the right questions, lets start with this even highlighted here," "Where were you on the night of 20th two years ago?" The stallion asked? "When did this become a police investigation?" "Note the avoidance of the question at hand," "No, just stop questioning him. I knew the higher ups would never let you question a subject," The mare said sounding irritated. "YO! I'd kind of like something to eat so either hurry this up or send some food in here while you two bicker like an old married couple," "We do apologize for that," The mares voice said. "I will be evaluating you now. So going back to the night almost two years now," "What about it?" "Can you please explain what happened?" "Sure. Okay well it started out because I couldn't sleep. Like it felt like some one was watching me, so I went over to my window and there was someone standing under a light post across the street. I looked out my window to see if i could make out who it was, and I fell out of my window. But it wasn't that i was fell out my window, it was almost like someone pulled me out of it. Anyways, science i was out my house and it would have taken a while to get back in, i decided to investigate the figure, but when I got there figure that was under there was no where to be seen. Like all that was left was a cloak that it was wearing. Then i turned to go back home and there was this figure the was made up entirely of light. Well almost entirely, It's eyes where like pure blackness," "Had you seen this figure before? Or was this the only contact you had with this figure," "No, never saw it before that night and science that night I've never seen or heard it. It did say that we would meet again, but i wouldn't recognize it," "Did it say anything else," "Yeah but none of it made any sense, and along with trying to find out what the figure was, figuring out what it said became my obsession to this day," "Thank you, that will be ll for now. You'll find the door behind your bed to be unlocked, some pony will be there to take you to get food." There was a static screech and the Pa system cut off. Starlight followed the mares voice said, got up,and found the door. He went towards it and when he was close enough to push it open, It opened entirely on its own. Woah, trippy. Starlight thought to himself. "Hello Mister Laser," said a nurse mare as he trotted out into the bright, giant hallway "Uh.. Yeah. That's me. Where are we going," Starlight said as he blinked trying to make his eyes adapted to the dramatic change in light. "Home Mister Laser. We are going home," //-------------------------------------------------------// This how it started //-------------------------------------------------------// This how it started "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Starlight laser screamed as he fell to the ground. It was almost as if someone was pulled him out of his window as he was looking out at the strange pony in dark robes under the light post near his house. WELL THIS IS FUCKING BRILLIANT he thought as he fell on to the ground. "Thank Celestia i didn't break anything," Starlight look up at his window and then to where the figure had been but it had disappeared. Starlight thought about going to the lamp post and investigating it. In fact this feeling was so strong it was almost as if he wasn't himself. Ultimately he decided to go and see what he could find. As he approached the lamp post he realized that the cloak from the figure from early was still there but the body that held it up was no where to be seen. At that point Starlight herd something behind and turned his head to see what it was. Starlight's mouth gaped open as he saw a pony that seemed to be made of entirely light except for its eyes which where a black so dark they seemed to contain all of space and time inside them. He's was so astonished by this strange figure in front of him he almost missed what it said "Starlight you are the key." The figure seemed to speak without moving its mouth or any sign of telekinesis magic. "Wha-- Wait what does that mean?" Starlight barely managed to get out "When the time comes you shall know of what that is which I mean. But only for now you  shall only need two things. The first is to beware the number 77. The second, once the evens begin to unfold you shall need that cloak," The light being indicated the cloak that was in Starlight's hooves. "Wait!!" Starlight yelled as the being began to fade away, "Will we meet again?" "Yes Mister Laser, but i shall not be in this form and i shall know you but you will not know me," and with that the figure disappeared, leaving Starlight with those riddles and the strange cloak. Starlight lived the next two years of his life weaving conspiracies, spending so many sleepless nights going over the trivial advice given to him, and days researching accounts like his through out all of history and literature. Finding the meaning to all of this had become his life obsession. Until the day he had found the meaning.                                                                           ***********    ************* "Hey Star!" A voice called out to Starlight. He looked around until he found the source. A single hoof waving above the crowd seeming to move towards him. He hadn't recognized the voice but something about it kept nagging at him almost as if he had heard it before. he brushed it off and trotted to the waving hoof. This is weird i haven't spoken to anyone in years how could someone possibly know me. "Thank Luna i found you. You have no clue how hard it is to find you. But this place is too public, do you know any where we can talk in private. And before you ask yes i know you but you don't know me," "Umm......," Starlight babbled, "My house should be private enough," "No they will definitely have that taped and bugged, any where else?" "Aisle 78 in the library," "Why 78? And why in the library?" "It's hard to explain," "Well.. Okay then," Starlight lead the mare to the aisle that he spent most of the last two years reading old cataloged mythology and paranormal accounts. Everything about the mare seemed odd as he continued to down the aisles. As they got closer to the the last aisle in the library Starlight began to count the seconds, ever science the encounter with the strange encounter with the glowing figure that's all he ever seemed to do. When he counted, the closer he got to the number 77 he held his breath almost as if he where expecting something to happen, but he was never sure of what. "What in the name of Celestia are you doing?" The mare asked while she looked at him strangely? Starlight looked at her as he hit 77 and realized he had puffed out his checks as he started holding his breath. "Hmm... Oh sorry didn't realize that i did that," He replied looking forward and hope she didn't press the  matter further. "Not what I asked," she said a little more hostile this time. "Just holding my breath nothing special about it. This is another thing that would be hard to explain," "NO, TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK YOU WERE JUST DOING!" said a completely different voice. This was not a mares voice, it was more of what Starlight imagined the voice of the demons of the old mythology to be like. Starlight thought how best to approach this situation. If this girl really was a demon like in the legends and stories, then anything he could say could set her into her true form. Starlight however did remember that there was something that he could have said that could kill her, but did not remember what it was. He also remembered that there was a way to tell weather the demon was taking on a host or a disguise of its own choice. "77," Starlight simply said. "WHAT THE HELL DOES 77 MEAN?!" the raspy voice said "Seventy-fucking-seven, any other stupid or redundant questions," Starlight said as a mirror passed on his left side. He managed to catch a glimpse at only his reflection in it. Well this complicates things. Starlight thought to himself. "FINE I'LL JUST GET IT OUT OF YOU LATER," "Well that was your question I believe it's my turn. So what does a DEMON, like yourself want with me," "HOW DID YOU-- WHY YOU LITTLE SHIT," "Ah Ahh, Temper temper. We don't want you changing here in public. Now explain what in the hell it is that you want with me," Starlight said with a slight smirk that he now had more than one advantage over the demon "I'LL EXPLAIN IT WHEN WE GET TO THE AISLE," "What you mean aisle 77, yeah that doesn't exist I made it up," Starlight's smirk grew to a grin as he looked over to the demon science he met her. He had showed his first cards to show how bad the demon fell for his first bluff. "WHY YOU LITTLE-- WELL NOW THERE'S NO HELPING YOU NOW! I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!" The demon started to change it's form with an explosion that knocked Starlight back into a shelf of books. "Oh shit," Starlight said as he got up and shook his head. "Shouldn't have done that," There was a loud, blood-curdling roar. Starlight looked to see where the demon was when the explosion, and there stood a giant pony figure that was dark as night with eyes as bright as the sun. "Oh shit," Starlight said as the reality of is decision hit him like a truck. There was a second explosion and Starlight blacked out.
