Airship to Airship
The Calling
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe commons of the large airship, full of Pegasi, Unicorns, Earth Ponies, and Griffins bustled with chatter and creaking machinery. "Have you ever wondered how many ponies got infected in the outbreak, Dribble?" Gilda asked the stallion with a pure sky blue coat, green eyes, and goggles he never seems to wear covering his forehead.
"Would you stop calling me that?" His deep, rough voice always make nails on a chalkboard sound like Beethoven. "It's Driphoof. And no, I don't wonder how many ponies got infected. I just do my goddamn job. Hunt those demonic bastards..."
"You're such a buzzkill..." A third voice interrupted.
"We're not here to have fun, dipshit."
"Hey, I like nicknames as much as you do, Driphoof." She continued. "It's Thisle, Dripshit." She flicked her smooth blonde hair out of her deep brown eyes.
"We never get any action... It's so boring here." Gilda whined. "When are we going to lan..." She was cut off by a sudden crash as everything in the airship shook, mostly her chair which is now on the floor along with her. "Well, I guess we landed... But I highly doubt our group will get ca..." She was cut off a second time by the blaring speakers.
"GROUP 164-B PLEASE REPORT TO THE DEPORTATION BAY TO EXTERMINATE THE FOLLOWING SPECIES..." A different voice finished the statement. "Demons."
The original voice came back. "IN THE FOLLOWING AREA..."
"Ponyvill."
Gilda, Driphoof, and Thisle all stared, eyes wide open and mouths slightly agape. "We're Group 164-B, aren't we...?"
"There's your excitement, Gilda. Thanks for jinxing it." Thisle snarled at her.
"Shut up, dork."
"At least it's Ponyvill. I've been there, full of idiots that I'll enjoy killing."
The group trotted over to the far end of the commons and into the deportation bay for further instructions. The door behind them locked with a 'Click' and the west wall of the square, black, metallic room opened, revealing another wall filled with various weapons and armor. "YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES TO ARRANGE YOUR ARMOR AND WEAPONS. CHOOSE WISELY." A loud voice roared from the intercom. Thisle chose the iron plated armor and a laser rifle, Gilda chose the Chain mail armor and an M16, and they all grabbed radios to communicate.
Driphoof scoffed. "I don't need any armor or any of your shitty peaces of metal you call 'Weapons'. I have my knife."
"You'll regret those words." Gilda smirked at him.
The East wall flung outwards into the baron wastelands, the houses where rotten with degraded, termite filled wood. Some of them didn't even exist or reach a foot off the ground. The small, peaceful town was now turned into a horrible, demon filled hellhole. "I'll get to a house that... Well... Exists to snipe." Thisle informed and trotted off with the rifle on his back.
"I'll Scout. Driphoof. Clear the houses. I know you can, I've seen you in CQC training." Gilda laughed slightly, then walked down the rotten street they landed on. Driphoof waited until she was out of sight, then tuned the radio to another channel.
"Dribble to Bird's Eye. I've landed, and gained their trust..."
The radio turned from static to a deep, mysterious voice. "Good. Bird's Eye out."
