It was the first day of school. Fillies raced through the hallway,running over each other. Right away Derpy thought she was going to make good friends. All the ponies there were here size, How could she NOT make friends.She entered the classroom and suddenly felt sick inside. All the fillies looked at her, and it wasn't a split-second until they all laughed. Derpy turned her head and tried to fight back the tears. Two loud bumps silenced the class. " There is no reason to laugh. Everypony is different in their own way. Now how about we introduce ourselves." Mrs.Cheerilee shouted.
But it was that one word that caught Derpy's attention "Different." That one word Derpy could not get out of her mind. That one word was the story of her life, she was, and always will be different. Derpy sat in her seat listening to the other ponies explaining their cutie marks. Soon it was her turn, this was her chance to show everypony who she really is, not a derped eyed freak. " I'm Derpy Hooves and have seven bubbles as my cutie mark, I think thats because i loves playing with bubbles." Suddenly a filly passed a note to another filly, then that filly passed the note to another. Derpy didn't notice, But Cheerilee did. As derpy went on Cheerilee walked up and took the note.
"Derpy please stop for a moment." Cheerilee scanned the class as if she was telling them some sort of message. "Now please tell me who wrote this note,and tell the truth or everypony will miss recess." It was then when a bright blue pony came to the front of the class. Cheerilee made him read the note out loud. The note read-
Maybe she has bubbles as a cutie mark because
her brain is made out of them.
Derpy looked all around the classroom they were all smiling at the bright blue filly. Derpy tried to fight back the tears but this was the second time she tried to make friends and failed. She did the only thing she could...She cried. The bell rang, every filly seemed happy to go to recess,But not Derpy. Everywhere she went she heard ponies talking about her, saying stuff like" Did the new girl take a bath today because she smells like plot." Or they would even put dirt in her mane. To Derpy school was the worst thing that ever happened to her.
But that was when she was a filly.
