The Doctor gets rewritten
An Unearthly Pony part 2
Previous ChapterTwilight looked on in shock, her mind struggling to keep up with what her eyes were seeing. “Wha-, bu-, how?”
Rainbow Dash was flying throughout the room erratically, squeals of excitement echoing loudly off the walls. “This is awesome!”
“What in tarnation?” Applejack had fallen on her haunches as her version of reality took a massive blow.
“...” Fluttershy was curled into a quivering ball as she gibbered in fear.
“My, what a drab decoration scheme,” Rarity said, completely ignoring the fact that the laws of physics were being broken in front of her eyes.
“Ohohohohoh! Is this the blue box that makes vworp vworp vworp sounds!? Are we going to take this for ride!?” Pinkie seemed entirely unsurprised by the size of the interior and somehow managed to perfectly imitate the TARDIS.
The inside of the Blue Box was large, much larger than anypony could ever think. The main room was a large box with two doors, now locked, that lead back outside. The two doors were white on the inside and one had a box that held a telephone, accessible from the outside. There were two more sets of doorways, without doors, leading to other rooms.
In the far left corner an octagonal table sat with buttons and levers and dials. The Doctor was standing near the table pressing buttons and flipping levers. The threshold across the doors lead to the kitchen area where an unknown white machine stood waiting to be used. There wasn’t much else in the kitchen. The doorway to the left of the entrance was the path to the sleeping quarters and the rest of the ‘box’.
“Pinkie, this clearly isn’t a transport. There is no way we could possibly move in this, even if it is bigger on the inside. This place is impossible.” Twilight stated matter-of-factly and turned to watch The Doctor. “Doctor, if that is who you really are, you never said anything about this. This is impossible and unless you can explain logically, I am leaving.” Twilight turned to the doors and attempted to escape the impossible prison but immediately gave up when they wouldn’t budge.
“Not so fast there Twilight, give the pony some time to explain before tryin’ to leave us behind.” Applejack turned to The Doctor awaiting an explanation.
“We can’t get out, the doors are jammed!” Twilight yelled out. She walked back to the table and started to say something.
“Twilight dear, please do not yell. I am sure there is a good, hopefully better than these walls, explanation. Doctor?” Rarity tried to remain calm and collected but secretly was starting to get scared, she did not understand this and the decorations were just horrid. She wanted out as soon as possible.
"Hmm? Oh yes." The Doctor sounded distracted as he continues doing what it was he was doing.
"Doctor, what is going on? Why can't we get out?" Twilight yelled out distressed.
"Oh, well, obviously it would be unsafe if you opened the doors while the TARDIS re-materialises," The Doctor stated matter-of-factly.
"What in tarnation are ya'll goin' on about now? What is this remateri-a-whatsit?" Applejack asked trying to keep up with the old ponies way of speaking.
"TARDIS is not a word Doctor, you really are not making any sense," Twilight argued.
"It stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. I am taking us back in time," The Doctor explained. He had finished messing with the console and was now standing near the group of friends, minus Fluttershy as she was still rolled up in a ball.
"Doctor, that is impossible, this entire thing is impossible. You are impossible," Twilight retorted, thinking to herself that this is all just a charade and soon something bad really would happen.
"Now now my dear, there is no need to go around insulting ponies because you are wrong and they are right, all you need to understand is that we are going to sometime well before what you are used to," The Doctor rebuttelled.
"Twilight, are you forgetting when you time travelled and spoke to yourself?" Rarity asked, remembering how paranoid the purple pony had become thinking the world would end.
"Ooh, good one on Rarity, close tie between her and Doctor, Applejack you are falling behind, and Rainbowdash and Fluttershy, both of you need to enter yourselves, zero points is not going to make you win!"
"Pinkiepie, what are you even talking about? Say, if this thing is bigger on the inside, then perhaps is there a place to practice flying?" Rainbowdash asked, as usual ignoring what was important and thinking only about herself.
"Yes, my speedy little pony, there is in fact. Go through that door, past the beds, and there is a large room where you can practice your flying."
"Oh boy! This is going to be great! Come on Fluttershy, let's go catch some air!" The excited blue pony dragged Fluttershy following the directions she was given. Upon entering the room, she thought that the description given by her unknown captor was an understatement. "Wow, this, place, is, ENORMOUS!" She shouted to herself as she took off ignoring Fluttershy.
Back in the main room the argument was still ensuing.
"Doctor! We do not need to be split up! We should all be in here trying to escape from your demented mind!" Twilight finally lost it and started insulting and screaming at The Doctor. After several minutes of this somepony finally interrupted. "That is enough Twilight. We will never get out of this mess unless The Doctor is in a good mood. You sitting there screaming at him and insulting him like a little filly is never going to get us anywhere." Rarity too had lost it. She was tired of the decor, she was tired of the yelling, and she was far too busy to sit here and wait for some pony to let them out.
"Aww, but it was just getting fun. Oh well, Twilight has now brought herself to the lead in this argument with a whopping 100 Pinkie points! Rarity has fallen behind with a 10 point deduction for ruining a perfectly good argument. As for you Applejack, you are still last place with a whole 14 points. You really need to catch up."
"Not now Pinkie, we need to focus on the matter at hoof."
"Hmm, I daresay you will find yourselves here for a while longer, the materialisation matrix seems to have slowed down. I can't even hear the iconic sound of my time machine."
"Rarity, my spell was different. It could only be used by a unicorn once and only lasted a few minutes. This is impossible. That is what I have been trying to say the entire time. Then somepony had to keep talking through it all and it frustrated me!" Twilight tried to explain but some pink pony wouldn't hear it.
"Oh, so now it is my fault? It's not like I locked the doors and tried to take us through time to ditch us somewhere so we wouldn't blab to Celestia. It isn't like I planned through this whole thing and will return unscathed to Ponyville after I am done removing all of the evidence that we even existed!" Pinkie started shouting to Twilight.
"Pinkie, what are you even talking about"? Twilight asked staring incredulously at Pinkie.
"Him!" Pinkie shouted back accusing The Doctor with her hoof.
The Doctor stared blankly at Pinkie wondering how she could even guess his brilliant plan. "That is impossible, you see, with every pony remembering you there is no possible way to simply make you disappear. That, my dear Princess Twilight, is impossible."
"Ah, but you said simply, it wouldn't be simple. You would need to erase us from the memory of everypony else, therefore you would have to stop us from ever reaching Ponyville, which in turn would mean that you never sent us back in time to hide the evidence so you wouldn't need to send us back in time which, in turn, would mean you never erased the evidence meaning we would meet and then you would have to take us through time and..." This went on for quite a while before Applejack interrupted.
"That is enough. That entire explanation was a load of hay. There is no way we would keep goin' through that twisted and bucked up loop just to end up here again. Ah am certain that there is a reasonable explanation for this entire thing." Applejack rebuke the now deflated pink pony.
"Thank you Applejack, now that that is settled, Doctor, if you would finally explain what is going on." Rarity spoke in her usual voice, her head tilted up, and her eyes closed.
"I already explained, you simply will not listen. You do not believe this is real when it is so obvious. You watched it materialise yourselves and yet you refuse to listen to reason. Why should I not leave you behind and return to my life?" The Doctor was finally mad that these simple ponies could not possibly fathom time travel after all they had been through.
"What did you just say?" Applejack too was furious. She could not believe her ears. She may as well have just heard a confession of what Pinkie had said was correct.
"I would never do that but with your ways of thinking you may as well believe it. To truly think a pony with my experience would lie about something as trivial as time travel." The Doctor had hit that state of being right when everypony else was wrong and stupid, except that they hadn't quite yet hit that point.
Nopony had noticed the sound of the TARDIS had stopped. They were too busy bickering amongst themselves. The TARDIS had stopped though and on the screen, which nopony was watching, was a barren wasteland that was Equestria before.
Rainbowdash was doing loops and barrel roles all around the gymnasium and Fluttershy was watching. She was amazed at what Rainbowdash could do and knew this was barely phasing Rainbow.
Rainbowdash did a quick back loop followed by a role and a backdive, one of the hardest moves a pegasis can make. It involves flipping around and falling backwards and stopping right before crashing. She had executed this flawlessly and Fluttershy even managed a loud 'Woo hoo!'. At least, the it seemed loud to her.
After that stunt Rainbowdash wanted to go and brag about it to her friends so they wandered back into the control room. Rainbow was the first pony to notice the moniter.
