Chapter 1: Object

"Yes?" She said, as the guard bowed. He wiped the sweat of his face then caught his breath.
"There have been more sightings of the mysterious flying object. Ponies are starting to worry, as it appears then disappears then reappears somewhere else!" Celestia sighed. These sightings had been reported for months but it could only be seen with a telescope. If ponies could see it with their eyes...
"Tell me.." Celestia began, as she collected her thoughts. "How close is it to the ground?" The Guard considered this then answered
"It's still only a small dot in the sky, but it is getting closer." Celestia was disquieted about this. If that object were as big as Twilight said then the damage it would cause if it crashed in a populated area would be catastrophic.
"Bring Twilight Sparkle here at once. Her astronomical knowledge is required... as is my sister's. Bring them both to me. They must reassure the ponies. Make them feel safe." Even if it's only for a short time. She thought to herself, darkly. The guard nodded and ran. The princess walked to the window and looked outside. She saw the object. She could only see an outline, no details. She tried to be strong for her subjects but in truth this terrified her. She's never faced a problem that she couldn't stop with her magic or the elements of Harmony. The Elements of Harmony only works against evil, living things not inanimate object. They can only restore inanimate objects, as they did Discord a few weeks ago when he was reformed.
Nightfell before Twilight arrived, but Luna and Celestia waited for her in the astronomy tower. On the carriage ride the guards had been vague but in truth they didn't know why she was being summoned. Still, she was there and she trotted up the stairs of the astronomy tower when she caught a glimpse of something silver in the sky. She waved it from her mind her teacher needed her help.
"My faithful student, thank you for making haste." Celestia said. Twilight nodded respectfully at her then Luna, who both done the same.
"I'm still not quite sure why I'm here, your highness." She said humbly. She had a great respect for all princess' everywhere if they were just ones.
"A few days ago, you informed me of a very large silver object in space." Twilight recalled this and nodded, so Celestia continued. "You said it can only be seen with a telescope... ponies have reported seeing it without one. It has gotten closer. So I brought you here to tell me exactly what it is if you can and how far away it is. If it's as big as you said... we must prepare for a worst case scenario." Twilight gulped at this news. She thought that the object would disintegrate in the atmosphere. It must be made out of very though metal.
"Very well." Twilight said, to Celestia's relief. She looked through the telescope and didn't say a word while she deduced what she could. For five minutes she stared, and Luna became impatient. She was about to say something but Celestia stopped her and gave her a stare which said. 'Please don't do that.' So Luna waited and then Twilight turned back with fear in her eyes.
"Well... best case scenario" she gulped. "It crashes in an unpopulated area. Then there would be minimal damage. Worst case scenario... it could contain a lot of energy so if it crashes anywhere it could have a huge explosion radius. Even if it's just a shell if it crashed in a city like Manehatten or here... the casualties would be overwhelming." Celestia sighed in fear, and Luna blinked.
"How long do you think we have?" Celestia asked gravely and without emotion. Twilight pondered this then said
"At the speed it's going... about a week." All of a sudden an ear piercing sound filled the air and an enormous silver object plummeted toward them. "It must have been propelled by something!" Twilight shouted as she ducked behind the balcony. The object was heading straight for them!
Part of it hits Canterlot, but still it continued It's descent. It went straight past the tower, sparing it from its path of destruction. It gave Twilight a good view of it and on one side it had the words Forward Unto Dawn. It continued down at an angle toward Ponyville! Twilight shouted in unhappiness and fear for her friends. Fortunately it landed just outside sparing the citizens of Ponyville but Twilight did not know that.
"Is everypony alright?" Celestia asked, concerned for the ponies she held closest to her.
"I am fine, sister." Luna said. Even she sounded off put by this catastrophe. Twilight didn't respond, she was holding back tears so she simply nodded.
"It landed next to Ponyville." Luna said, straining her eyes. "It may have missed Ponyville but the only way to find out is to investigate. He flew toward it in the night.
Twilight looked at Celestia tearfully as Celestia looked back with a sympathetic expression.
"I shall investigate" she began regaining her tone of kind authority "with princess Luna. Please come on the carriage in case it's dangerous." Twilight nodded reluctantly and began running to the bottom of the tower as Celestia flew toward the wreckage... and toward The Master Chief.
