Cold.

That was all that Drake could feel as a current of icy wind collided with his soft skin. His hair flowed in the direction of the current as his eyes gazed over the quaint little town of Ponyville, the residence that he stayed in for a few years.

It was a fine life for him. Everyone (or 'everypony' as they say it over here) shared a mutual relationship with him, making small talk with the alien in Equestria every once in a while. He never tried to get close to them, and they reciprocated the actions.

A win-win deal from Drake's perspective.

His clothing dilemma was solved by an alabaster mare that had magenta mane, her status was of the element of 'generosity', which was more than enough for him to persuade her to do it. It wasn't that fashionable and high quality, just simple clothing with the basic knowledge that he told her of the clothes that he knew back in Earth.

Jeans, pajamas, underwear, a T-shirt and a jacket were all he needed to hide his sensitive parts to the folk of Ponyville. He didn't care about what others thought of his clothing, because if the element of generosity was truly a fashionista mare, then she wouldn't make such shameful clothing, even if she hated her customer(s).

Drake sat down on one of the many hills of the forest of orchards that the Apple family harbored. He worked for them. In return, they would give him payment in the form of their own currency, or just dinner and a place to sleep for the night if he didn't particularly need the money (or 'bits') for that day. Everything was manageable and mundane for Drake, which he hated, but grew accustomed to.

Today he was casually resting, alone of course. He was adamant in staying alone for a while as he rested, much to the element of honesty's dismay. Work was slow as the wintry season rolled up, and Drake was working overtime to meet his rent over at the home of Twilight:the mare who found him.

'Looks like my job is done here...Not alot of trees to buck left and my arms are killing me...' Drake thought as he scanned the emerald leaves of the orchards for a sight of an apple.

He slowly got up, his bottom numbed from sitting down for quite a while and his legs contracted the all-too familiar sensation of pins and needles. Drake trudged down the hill, making his way to the Apple's home for his payment and possibly an apple fritter or two.

After constant proposals coming from Applejack asking Drake to stay over for the night, He left Sweet Apple acres, his sights heading towards the last job that he'll have to do for today.

Babysitting, or 'foalsitting' as the ponies called it here in Equestria.

The foal in question was none other than Filthy Rich's stuck up daughter: Diamond Tiara. Drake and Diamond Tiara didn't get on so well in the beginning, but they soon forged a mutual agreement where they will let each other do what they want, as long as it didn't involve the other party's assistance or if it was quite dangerous to do, save for the routinely dinner and bed-time for the young filly.

It was nice, Drake got to relax and explore the vastly-roomed mansion that was Diamond Tiara's home, and the filly was able to do what she wanted (which usually meant inviting her second in command: Silver Spoon, for any random activity that they would do which would be out of Drake's sight).

Drake stepped on the gates of the mansion, immaculate and on time like always to improve the father of the brat. Within seconds, a beige-coated stallion exited the doors of the home, interlinking one of his forelegs with his wife. He slowly approached the human at the gates, a stoic face plastered onto him as his wife slightly grinned.

"Well, you're back." Filthy Rich spoke.

"Same as always?" Drake said.

Filthy Rich nodded simply as his wife's horn lit up, pushing the gates wide opened as the two casually trotted past Drake. They knew that they could count on the only human in Equestria, for if he failed to do his job he could easily be removed from existence without the ponies caring, or just be fired. Filthy Rich preferred the former.

Drake entered the mansion, gently pushing the doors open and closing them as he made his way to the living room, where Diamond Tiara would most likely be. His assumptions were right, as he found the pale magenta filly playing around with her grey friend.

"Ugh, Di! Your sitter's here." Silver Spoon looked away in disgust, catching both the filly and the human's attention.

"Alright, let's move to my room, we don't want this blank flank in our presence, ruining our mood right?" Diamond Tiara signaled for her friend to come with her on the doorway that lead to the corridor. Silver Spoon hastily responded as she exited to room, eliciting a groan as she waited for her rich BFF to come along.

"So...what did daddy say?" Diamond spoke.

"Same as always. You really shouldn't keep asking, it's always the same every time." Drake jokingly said.

"I know, but it's common courtesy to talk to the alien who will be trashing our home for the next four hours."

"Come on, Diamond Tiara. I'm the last alien you'd expect to trash your home. After all, you do have an intimidating father."

The little filly slowly trotted out of sight to follow her friend to the corridor. Suddenly, her head popped out of the doorway, her rounded eyes staring at the floor as she spoke one last time.

"You can call me Di if you want...I don't min-"

"Di! Come on! Let's goooooo!" Came from the exasperated Silver Spoon.

The surprised filly soon left to reunite with her friend once more. Drake sat down on the rose couch, snugly resting in it's soft embrace. The flames of the fire that gently thrashed about in front of him lulled Drake to a momentary slumber as fatigue washed over him.

'Time for a quick nap...then dinner.'

The human was awakened from his nap, soft rumbling could be heard somewhere down below as his eyes re-adjusted to the dying flames in front of him. Wispy, tendrils of smoke slowly swayed in the fireplace as the flames below burned the used charcoal.

Drake could hear the same sounds every now and again, a soft rumble and the slight clinking of chains. Whatever it was piqued his interest as he exited his comfy 'bed' and made way to the door the Diamond Tiara and her friend left in.

Whatever that filly and her friend were doing, it sure sounded kinky.

His nightly stays in Filthy Rich's home were quite short lived. He had barely made progress in exploring their home due to his constant routine of napping until dinner. Occasionally he would recognize these sounds on some days, but he had never found the source ever since he heard them.

Initially he'd assumed that it was Diamond Tiara getting freaky with her trusty gal. Then he realized that they were still fillies, and their concept of sex had been made clear to him after he found out that they only knew what Filthy Rich told them:

Which was very little , of course.

The source of noise got closer and closer as Drake found the room which contained the alluring sounds. He was met by a typical living room with another unnecessarily placed fireplace which had been refueled recently, due to the strong flames that licked the charred walls around it. The room was partially empty.

Partially.

His sights were glued onto white creature that sat at the back of the pink room. It's eyes stared at the human as he tried to comprehend what the creature was.

It was lying down on it's chest, it's onyx eyes observing Drake as he observed the creature. It sat upright, revealing the scaly, teal chest it hid. Silver scales donned the majority of the horned creature, glistening as the flame's rays of light hit it. Two large wings spread from behind it, revealing a silky skin that was riddled with lines under the length of the grey wings. It's overall size was slightly smaller than Drake's 6 foot stature, going in at around 5 and a half inches.

Drake scoured his mind to find anything that would similarly match what he saw. The unhealthy amount hours of spending time on his first game: Runescape allowed him to realize that what was in front of him was in fact: a Dragon.

An ice type from the looks of it.

The dragon growled at the intruder, it's blunt claws spreading themselves to make itself look more intimidating, only for it to be restricted by the chains that held the dragon's wrists. It's muzzle was mixed in an array of emotions. Most were from anger, but Drake could see hints of sadness and fear as he examined the dragons eyes.

"Easy...easy...I won't hurt you." Drake put up a neutral face as he held his hands high for the dragon to see. "If I do anything wrong, then just freeze me, I wouldn't mind." He smiled a little.

The growling ceased as the dragon's wings folded themselves to its back once more. Its posture may have changed, but it's onyx eyes were glued onto the human, searching for any sneaky movement as he sat down on the rug in front of it.

Drake got himself comfortable, sitting down on the rug slowly as he made no sudden movements. His eyes wandered curiously over the dragon's soft body, admiring her appearance.

"So...what's a dragon like you doing here as a pet to the brattiest filly in Ponyville?" Drake asked.

He waited patiently for an answer, to which he found none. The dragon lifted its neck, revealing a collar that glowed a dim a sapphire colour as it constricted it's neck.

"Oh..."

His hands reached out to touch the dragon's neck, hesitant to do so as he asked for permission to touch it. It willingly allowed permission as Drake's fingers felt the collar. He found a small box at the back of it, just behind the dragon's horns. A small button was inside said box.

'It's small enough so that this poor soul's claws cant fit inside it. This is a pretty simple collar, but it's easy enough to shut down such a powerful dragon like her.'

He applied pressure onto the minuscule button, upon which a small click can he heard. Immediately the dragon tackled Drake to the ground, the growling that had momentarily disappeared had returned once more as it's muzzle precariously hovered above Drake's own.

"Who are you and why are you here?"It questioned him.

No..not 'it'..

It's a she...

"I-I'm the brattiest filly's babysitter!" Drake stuttered in fear as an icy aura spread over his body. The dragon's body seemed to expel the aura as she remained on top of him.

"And what makes you think that you can free a dragon like me without suffering the consequences?"

"I freed you?"

"Of course you did, you idiot! The best way to disarm a dragon is to constrict their necks to prevent them from using their breath!"

"..."

Drake stared at her, an alarming question rang inside his head.

"....How long have you been here?"

She widened her ebony eyes her demeanor changed. They quickly narrowed as she regained her composure from the human's unexpected words.

"What's it to you? After all, you're that whorse's butler."

"Babysitter, not butler. And I'm just making friendly conversation with an ice dragon that can easily kill me."

"You don't have to act nice,"

"I'm not acting nice, I'm just making a normal, everyday conversation. From what you've said and the state I've seen you in, it doesn't seem like you speak to many friends."

"That last part seems about right." The dragon lifted herself off of Drake as she sat on her chest in front of him once more. She sighs heavily, expelling an icy mist from her snout which causes Drake to shiver.

"You can leave now, I won't mind."

"No."

She stared at the human who sat on the rug once more, a slight smile crept up his face. The dragon's eyes narrowed as she made her assumptions.

"If you think that you are able to do that with my collar free-"

"Do what?"

"...nevermind."

"..."

"What's your name?"

The two sat in silence as Drake expected her answer to follow.

"Glacia."

"Mine's Drake."

Glacia nodded as her head drooped down low. Her eyes stared at Drake, thoughts rambled in her mind. Drake happily remained in his place, enjoying something other than a pony for company.

It was nice for him. They didn't need to speak to each other to keep themselves interested, just plain old silence was good enough for the both of them. Drake rather enjoyed the tingles of cold he'd get every now and again as Glacia's aura diffused in the room. The slightly numbing after-effect from the ice amazed him.

Glacia was enjoying the silence she shared with the foreign creature, just him being here made her happy. That may be nothing compared to a very social mare, but for an outcast like her, it gave her a happy feeling that a pony with 100 friends could never have.

"Why are you here? asides from babysitting of course." Glacia finally spoke.

"Initially, I was just planning to sleep and make dinner for the filly when I wake up, but then you took my attention by making all those sounds."

"Sorry."

"You don't have to be. I'm enjoying this little thing we're having right now." He smiled. "You don't talk too much, you don't ask any weird questions, and most of all, you don't have to acquire my utmost attention to you when you speak. You may find all of these things as bad, but that's what I prefer."

"Y-you're enjoying this?"

Drake nodded.

"Believe it or not, but this is the first time that I've actually felt this relaxed with a po-dragon. I'm surprised that you haven't frozen me to death yet or leave immediately since I've freed you."

"I'd rather stay with you than leave."

Drake blushed.

'D-did I just....'

"W-why so?"

"I'd rather not say."

"I'll tell you why I'm here and what I am. If I do that, then you can tell me why you'd rather stay with me here. Deal?"

Glacia looked at Drake curiously before nodding her head.

"....Alright."

-Time Skip: An hour later-

Drake sat beside Glacia as he told her the human culture. His body rested against her right side, her tail subconsciously coiling around him as he spoke. Drake told her all about him and his species' history, managing to withhold some harsher times to not frighten her. He made the occasional joke every few minutes or so, to which Glacia would not understand most of the time. She didn't mind though, for  she was too interested in learning about romantic movies and human relationships.

"And then there's me. Drake Livingstone, the stranger who landed in this strange place. At first, I was a bit skeptical about where I was. Sometimes I honestly believed that I had gone mentally insane, but I learned to cope with reality after I realized that I was living as a homeless vagrant."

"Things slowly improved, and soon enough I began to live as normal as a life I could get. But I still felt....lonely, despite all the ponies around me."

"I could say the same, except with my own kin."

"They just couldn't....fill that part of me...you know? That part that you feel every time you see yourself alone in the park whilst everypony trots by with their loved ones or friends. That part that you feel when you see somepony smile as they have fun with their friends. I guess you could say that I just wanted a friend, but one that could satisfy my own needs."

Glacia felt a warm presence upon her head as she listened to Drake's words. His hand had subconsciously started to pet her head and horns as his eyes stared at the flickering fire, shining as they slowly turned bloodshot.

"You might not know it, but this is the most I've spent talking to someone. Ever. And I'm glad that I've taken the job as Diamond Tiara's foalsitter, because I would have never met you." Drake finished as he turned to Glacia, smiling as a lone tear streaked across his face.

Glacia was at a loss for words.

"We barely met a few hours ago...and yet you're being so friendly with me..." She spoke. "We've never even met before all of this, and somehow you're considering that I'm your friend?"

"Yeah, I make hasty decisions, but what I say is true. Our introduction to each other may have been quite rocky, but still fine with me nonetheless."

"Drake....you really don't know how much this means to me." Glacia called him his name for the first time as she nuzzled his cheeks.

Drake felt a cold and numbing sensation dance across his cheeks as Glacia's soft scales collided with his sensitive skin.

"For years I've been called an outcast because of what I can do. For years I've walked among my kin without so much as a friend to accompany me."

"When mating season came, mine didn't. Due to...blatantly obvious reasons.....male dragons never even got a chance to touch me because of how cold I was. I was often called the 'Frigid Dragon' because my aura ruined the mood for even the most hormonal dragon."

Drake could hear soft sniffles as Glacia's nuzzling slowed down.

"Sometimes...I just openly offered myself to the elder dragons just to relieve the suffering I had to go through. It was sick and twisted, but I just couldn't take the overbearing heat anymore. Soon enough I've had to deal with it ever since, and it's always been the worst time for me."

Drake wrapped his arms around Glacia's neck as he hugged it, ignoring the sharp stings of icy pain that his neck received.  Glacia blushed at his actions as she continued.

Soon enough, my parents got tired of me not living up to what they expected me to be, and now I'm stuck here as a filly's pet and the victim of her father's constant harassment every time he visits at night....all for a measly 400 bits."

"Is my life worth that much to my parents?"

Drake's face met her muzzle as a caring smile came to his own.

"Your life is as important as everyone else. They just don't care enough to notice your emotions and your wellbeing. I care about you, even though I didn't even know you at all a day ago. If someone actually stopped and looked at your face just once....they would see that sadness that you've been bottling up inside."

"And if you want me to..."

"I'll make you happy...I'll give you love that you've yet to find."
