Rainbow's Diary, Page One

Death.

Death is the one thing I now long for in life, the one thing that may bring respite.

Death is not scary. Not here. It is not to be a thing of mourning and torturous sadness that it is commonly viewed as. I want it SO BAD!

But I made a deal.

I. Must. Go. On.

The city blocks were not a nice place to live, which is presisely why Rainbow chose it to be her home. She wanted peace and quiet. The others who lived in the city mostly avoided it, because almost everypony knew who lived there, and how dangerous she was.

Rainbow, confident as an armed stallion, strode down said city block. This was her territory.

Now, Manehattan used to be a good place to live. Maybe even better than Ponyville. It was a city bustling with life, energy, and color. Pinkie Pie would have loved it.

"NO!"

This thought, echoing throughout her head, was a common thing nowadays. Thinking of her friends was bound to bring upon emotions. Emotions brought feelings. Feeling brought death, the one thing she wanted so badly, but couldn't have.

"I'm better than this. I'm better than this. I would never sink so low." Thought Rainbow.

"Must. Go. On."

She continued walking, her footsteps echoing through the empty city block.

I am Rainbow Dash.

I remember my friends.

I remember how to fly.

I remember...

I murdered my best friend.

NO YOU DIDN'T!

Yes. It was all my fault.

Listen to me. You lived in Ponyville. You..

NO!

Rainbow was still walking. She could fly, but walking was peaceful. More chance of an "accidental death".

"I have nothing to live for..."

Wallowing in her eternal self-pity was, ironically, the one thing that kept her going.

"I remember..."

"Nothing."

Now she shouted, her scratchy voice echoing throughout the blocks.

"NOTHING! NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!"

Manehattan used to be a good place, until princess Celestia was unseated by... well that later.

After the Cataclysm, Manehattan became a place of refuge for survivors. I was there myself, caring for the wounded. Until she took over.

Then, anarchy.

The ponies who were previously wounded rose up, and seperated into the three ancient tribes once again.

Three gangs.

The gangs started to fight among themselves, not just eachother. A gang war ensued, in the urban environment of the city blocks. The earth ponies were the first target, because they had no wings or horns. This proved to be a bad mistake.

You see, the earth ponies' lack of ablilities forced them to make thier own methods of travel and war. They had what are now known as.. guns.

These weapons of slaughter, in the first Gangwar, slaughtered hundreds of unicorns and pegasi alike.

But it was not long until the pegasi copied thier talents, and produced thier own firearms, although they were crude renditions of the earth ponies' own technology. The earth ponies in Manehattan were almost completely wiped out, cut down by the sweeping divebombs of ths pegasi.

The pegasi then began a gang war with the unicorns. Between the unicorns' magic, and the Pegasis' wings, they completely outdid themselves, wiping out the entire population of Manehattan, and some of the surrounding territories. The only thing that stopped this war, was love.

You see, the leader of the unicorns, Ice Charmer, and the Pegasi leader, Thunder Chaser, couldn't stay away from eachother. They had a child, Butter Smoothie. But one thing, rarer than gold, immortalized him.

He was an Alicorn.

He brought peace between the gangs, uniting them into a mission to finish off the earth ponies, and gain the last precious scraps of thier technology.

Oh, what a mistake that was.

The earth ponies had been working on a MegaSpell bomb.

As soon as they attacked, a  pegasus pony named Slurpy Hooves, cousin of the infamous Derpy Hooves, accidentally detonated it.

Almost every pony in Manehattan was eliminated.

Every pony in Manehattan was killed.

Manehattan became a city of death.

A city of bones.
