Chapter 6: Spartans Don't Die, Demons Can't Die

Standing in silence the two combatants stood on either side of the field, guns at the ready, both had steadied their breathing, the surrounding area was quite, strange how animals always new, they always could tell when something big was about to happen. The rolling of pebbles colliding against the mountain side triggered the battle.

In less then a blink of an eye both Spartans took off parallel to each other. Chief fired off his assault rifle as David fired off rounds from his sniper rifle. Each round missing each other by mere millimeters. Chief pulled out his pistol and fired off around, the bullet flying into and wedging itself with a round in sniper, rendering it un-useable. Noticing this David just threw his gun to ground and pulled out his DMR.

"John this Spartan shows a lot of the same skills with marksmen weapons as that ODST that you fought with on Reach and we fought with in New Mombasa." Cortana said looking into the memory banks. "And this Spartan is showing vitals of a Spartan II, though he could have only become a Spartan III. Interesting, he also has been able to keep up with you." Firing off more rounds with his assault rifle Chief started to charge, Which David only matched his moves, both assault rifle rounds and DMR rounds bouncing off of the others armor. "Interesting, its mark V armor, but, as resistant to small arms as your mark VI."

Both Spartans placed their guns on their backs and met fist to fist, their entire weight at a full sprint behind them, making a loud clash. then soon each went into kicking, blocking kicks, then returning with upper cuts that where met knocked to the side. Master Chief saw his opening and threw a punch hard into Davids helmet, knocking it clean off. However at the same time David saw and opening of his own, and kicked the Master Chief in the chest, sending the Spartan back a few feet, until a few grenades landed at his feet and blasted him back a short distance.

Skidding on his back, David flipped back onto his feet and skid to a stop as he threw down a bubble shield and protected himself from the blast. Drawing his side arm David ran forward right as the dust settled, and was greeted by a barrel of Chief's side arm in his face. The fight lasted less than thirty seconds, and now both Spartans where at a stand still. "Cortana, what are the chances that he would look exactly like David, have the same call tag on his armor, the same scar and also be a marksmen like him."

"Astronomical I'd imagine" she replied.

"Who are you, you have the training of an ODST, and you have been augmented and survived. Your armor is a Mark V, yet you are able to keep up with upgraded Mark VI and what you pulled another A.I. out of your helmet, yet you have been able to keep up with Chief." Cortana said.

"I am David Smith, human and former UNSC ODST, I am now, Spartan David-D342. Defender of Equestria." he said keeping his aim did on. "Your move John-117"

"Your no Spartan, for no Spartan would side with the destroyer of our people." He said raising his gun slightly, David coping his movements as the two stared each other down from the same height.

"You dont get it do you, its thirteen thousand years since you left. Celestia, humans made her and all of this world and left. after two centuries of genocidal conflict, both Covenant and humans where whipped from existence, but luckily the same malfunction that caused the slip space on Liberty to send me floating into the void of space after the ambush, sent them in the future, to here. This world was thriving of different races, and species, but then we wanted our home back, The captain of the Liberty ordered the enslavement and genocide of these anthropomorphic beings, we had became the Covenant, except half of us, who turned on our fellow humans. My brother, Jason Henderson, or, Private Henderson, was the first on this planet, he dropped in via ODST pod. befriended and fell involve with Celestia, upon his death at the hands of a Spartan, our race died, and we became not but myths on this world, Equis. She acted the way we did. And i will do what is necessary, including die" David said grabbing a clip looking right into the visor.

"He ha ha ha ha ha, well, i can arrange that." Said a voice that David recognized as Chrysalis's "Put down your weapon, including your grenades or she dies," she said making twilight appear in a flash of green fire

"DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO, LET THEM..... LET THEM KILL ME!" Twilight pleaded."SHE TURN...." a piece of cloth appeared around her head in her mouth as tears streamed down her face. There was magic nullifier on her horn. a shove from behind by Chrysalis showed that she had her hands tied behind her back, and on her legs tied around her ankles. with one step she started to step on Twilight's wings, making her hold in her screams of pain. twisting her boot into Twilight's wing she couldn't hold in her agony "AHHHH-AHHHHAAHHHHHHH!" she then pulled up her by the hair making her scream even more "AHHHHHH!" and licked her face before putting her a knife against her neck and drawing a small amount of blood.

Closing his eyes, David thought for second, shooting Chief would result in Twilight's death, because turning and shooting Chrysalis would send her backwards and ending in Twilight's death. "Chief, if I surrender under the condition that she is freed, will you honor that sacrifice, she can get Cortana to my A.I., and he can stop Cortana's rampancy."

"If you can stop her rampancy, then I will honor it." Chief said.

"I surrender, but first, remove that knife from my friends neck and step away from her." Chrysalis smiled as she removed the knife and threw twilight onto the ground before stabbing her wing, driving the knife into the ground. "Don't worry, you'll die, once the predators come out tonight". she said quietly, not thinking Twilight's mic could pic it up, letting both David and Chief hear.

"Chief?" Cortana asked the stoic looking Spartan as he heard Chrysalis's plan.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG unh unh unh" David could hear her screams of pain and sobbing, making him want to stab Chrysalis, over and over and over. ~Da....David, she made herself look like you, like you where stabbed, i gotten the gaze to help and... I ....she put on the nullifier, her changelings jumped me and..."

Not lowering his gun from Davids face, Chief walked over and grabbed Davids helmet and handed it to him as he looked at the changeling queen "let him die like a warrior, with his armor on. Before he nudged him forward. David put on his helmet, his visor picking up 50 red objects in the trees. Cortana was already in his helmet, jumped in when Chief picked it up "Your armor is not too different form Johns." this made him jump, Chief would not put Cortana in his helmet if he was going to be executed.

"Don't talk, save your energy Twi..." he said then looked at Cortana on his screen as she then smiled as she went back to John and started to mark all of the Changelings with red as she looked at David, eyes full of tears, but sadness, not pain.

Chief keep his pistol on the back of Davids neck, as he removed Davids pistol and placed it on his left, taking his DMR from his back and put away his own pistol before holding the DMR with one hand and he reached around with his left hand and removed the ODST' Spartan's KBAR knife "get ready, on my signal, sprint towards Twilight." Chief said on a secure channel Cortana set up. then counted down "3.2.1.GO" as he chucked a high powered grenade deep into the jungle. David could see that he still had a single bubble shield left, as Chrysalis was watching the grenade fly over head, Master Chief seized this opportunity and threw Davids KBAR into Chrysalis's hand pinning her to a tree and fired off one round, breaking the tip of her horn and making her power-less moments before he made it to chrysalis and detonated the bubble shield, just as David put a shield up over Twilight. "Spartan catch!" Chief said on the radio. Throwing David his DMR. The grenade sent a shock wave pushing all of the Changelings out into field and send a good fireball through the forest. David did a one 180. And raised his DMR.

"Five seconds John" he said, the last he counted off targets and the number of rounds he has plus in his mags. The second the two glowing orbs that protected the Spartans died, David started to fire off round after round, using two bullets per target by putting two in the chest closely together causing a great deal of damage. David was counting off John's rounds "John two mags" he said throwing both with one hand and the Master Chief caught them right in the guns. Emptying another clip David grabbed his last DMR Mag and started making head shots, dropping the Changelings like buggers. "Empty"

"Yeah? Me too, i Just have about half a Clip in the assault rifle." he said walking over to the discarded sniper rifle and tossed it back to David who caught it and placed it on his back, using his knife he cut Twilight free who was looking pale. Grabbing the rope, David cut off a small section and tied it tightly around her stabbed wing. before he opened her armor and retreated Delta, then closed her armor back up and picked her up, She put her arms around his neck and looked up at him

"Okay Delta, Wheres the Warthog" David ordered

"Hello sir, the warthog is one click to the east, might i suggest calling a pelican" Delta asked

"Yes, do that, is the Wathog in a clearing?" David asked

"It is sir, shall i send a message to Celestia telling Twilight's condition?"

"Yes, tell her I'm taking Twilight to the Liberty for medical treatment and that Sierra 117 is an alley. Also add that Chrysalis has been captured, not to trust Discord, and that Nightmare Moon and King Sombra have fused." seeing the Pelican land nearby David watched as Chief lead Chrysalis into the pelican and fastened her in before he jumped out and walked up to the front to refill his ammo from is weapon cache. David carried Twilight up to the cockpit before he wrapped a bandage around her neck and used bio-foam in her wing. Walking to the back Chief handed David two clips. "You get the stick" Looking up David saw Luna about 50 yards away "Chief prep for take off, I'm going to go meet Luna, here, plug Delta into the pelican, he'll be your co pilot"

"Who is Luna?" Cortana asked

"His wife" Delta pipped up.

"Why would she be here" Cortana

"She wouldn't. SPARTAN ITS A TRAP!" Chief yelled just as Luna stabbed David in the gut fine edged diamond knife, then she turned into nightmare moon, cackled and disappeared as Chief started to shoot at her. With a mist of red on his helmet, David chuckled as he started to fall backwards with Chief catching him in mid fall, "Stay with me Spartan." he yelled yanking off Davids helmet.

"Spartans dont die, Chief. Demons cant die." he replied as he blacked out.
