Load Full StoryNext ChapterPrincess Celestia sighed as she stood alone on the balcony over looking Canterlot; Gaving up at the night sky, a single tear made it's way down her face. "Oh lu-lu what have you done. No. What have I done to push you to this. We were made to rule together..." Her thought's were interrupted by a soft whisper from behind.
"your Majesty?"
Celestia turned to see A soldier clad in golden armor standing behind her, her General Northern light stood tall. "Canterlot has been evacuated as you commanded, and our soldiers are setting up strong point's across the city." Celestia nodded and gestured for him to walk with her. Her multi colored hair flowed behind her as she walked briskly with her commander. After a moment that felt like eternity she whispered softly and with dread
"How many are we facing?"
"Ten thousand Dearg-due, and Fifteen thousand rebel's that decided to join her..."
"we out number them Three to one" Celestia spoke with some hope. "Maybe Her sister..." "No," Her thoughts screamed, "The being that shared her body, would see the futility of this battle."
Her general stopped and looked into her eyes. Northern Light was an imposing figure, at six foot two, his body was toned and well muscled from year's of training, and even more year's of constant fighting to unite Equestria under One banner. But as his violet eye's met her pink, she saw the pain that he carried a heavy heart.
"My princess.... yes we may out number them, But we have always out numbered them. Her...." he spat on the ground "Her....Soldiers....are easily worth five of your elite guards." Celestia could only nod in a heart broken agreement.
Soldier's from the Dearg-due clan's were only matched in strength and speed by those from the drake nation. Fast, powerful and deadly, their craving for blood and fanatic loyalty to Princess Luna; now Nightmare moon, only helped to spread fear like a wild fire among-st her own forces. The recent battle at the Ever-free Forest had proven how dangerous these vampire-ish beings were.
Celestia shuddered. What many had hoped to be a swift end to The lunar Rebellion turned out to be a Nightmarish slaughter that had sent her forces into a desperate retreat across equestria, back to canterlot. Many of her forces were still trying to recover from wounds, or from the loss of so many comrades.
A low rumble from a horn Brought the two from their thought's. Nightmare moon's forces were here.
