These were compliments Octavia was used to hearing. She was an expert cello player with a knack for affecting emotions of others around her with her amazing ability to play the cello. With each stroke, crowd upon crowd would smile, then get over ecstatic. Other pieces literally brought her crowd to tears, but this night she stood there and stared. She played a piece that had a low tempo and higher notes, causing her general crowd to leave a little saddened. Though one thing that puzzled her, there sat a mare in the third row, five seats to the left of the middle seat. When the crowd made their exit, so did Octavia, partially that is. She stood behind the curtain and peered ever so slightly beyond the drawn green curtain, she noticed the mare was still there. True that most were still there as well, but they were there for the after party, this mare however, glanced around and made a beeline to the bar area.
"She looks rather... troubled...." Octavia thought out loud.
She placed her cello in it's case, and pulled it over her shoulder. The bartender disappeared behind the bottle, and surprisingly to Octavia, the mare spoke.

The bartender arrived with a bottle of wine, which he popped open with ease and poured two glasses full and slid one each to the Octavia and the mare. "Miss Melody, you have a fine taste wine." The mare said with a smile.
"Oh, why thank you. Also, I prefer Octavia, it suits me better than my last night." She told her.
"Oh! Forgive me Octavia." She extended her hoof and held it back slightly. "I'm Rarity" She introduced.
'A fitting name for an angel' Octavia thought as she nodded. "Lovely meeting you Rarity."
They discussed many topics, drinking glass after glass of the sixty ounce bottle of wine that soon was only the glass. They talked about their favorite musicians, in which Rarity slyly remarked that Octavia was her favorite musician. Surprisingly, Rarity knew a great deal on music. They discussed their favorites on everything, and what they generally did for fun. They were not too far away from each other on these as well.
As the night passed on, the after-party was coming to a close. Octavia suggested something. "Hmmm, how about you come back to my hotel room with me." She suggested, biting her lip.
Rarity giggled. "Oh, rather bold of you Octavia, but I think-" She paused. Octavia's heart began to sink, knowing she would feel the sting of rejection in a few moments. "-my lovely abode will suit what you have in mind." She finished. This surprised Octavia, turning her content smile into a devious smirk. "Though I lack the knowledge by what you mean when you say your home is better, I will gladly accompany you back to your home." She said with a light laughter.
The two finished off the last glass of Rioja together and waltzed out the door. Octavia stuck close behind Rarity, eyes glued to her plot when Rarity wasn't looking. Once she caught her but simply gave a playful wink. As they approached the door, Rarity stopped and checked her saddle bag for her key. With a moments pass, she shoved the key in the lock impatiently. The satisfying click was heard from the locks mechanisms and Rarity flung the door open with haste. She pulled in her companion, who shut the door behind them.
