Gone.

...The official name of the planet given to it by the HUC is planet M-093 or "Fog". The name fit the planets description perfectly, it was a gray planet covered in swirling clouds of dust and fog. Sensors mysterious enough have a really hard time picking up anything on the surface of the strange alien world. It has oxygen and even air, its perfectly habitable as far as exterior sensors are seeing. The ship orbiting the planet was named the 'HUC Columbus' and was named after an ancient explorer. There was only one man sitting in the room where the drones on the surface where being monitored and occasionally controlled. All of his fellow HUC marines or scientist went to their quarters to get some sleep leaving him alone in the darkened room. The room consisted of a large amount of terminals with chairs pushed underneath them. There was a massive monitor at one end of the room so the entire room could view a single drone's POV at once if need be. The only man in the room at the moment was named David Thompson and was tasked with controlling his personal drone. The drone was launched out of a special drop pod delivery bay and should be arriving on the planets surface soon...

...A strange metal object came crashing through the thick and stormy cloud layer and went crashing down to surface. The pod was designed in such a way that the cargo held withing would remain safe on even the heaviest of impacts. Several mechanical arms set the pod upright and detached an upper section for leaving the planet. A metal creature stepped out of the newly opened doors and made landfall on the planets surface. The sight in front of him seemed rather creepy, there was so much fog that it was almost impossible to truly see and dust was kicking up everywhere. The humanoid machine scooped up some dirt with its hand and processed it. The sample was unnervingly similar to earths soil structure except it was dry and didnt have much biological material left in it proving that growing food on the planets surface would be no easy task. The machine seemed to almost emit a shudder looking off into the fog and drew a large rifle before setting off into the grayness. It was using GPS systems provided by the orbital ship to help it find its way back to the drop pod after finishing exploring the planet. The machine suddenly seemed to realize that its almost as if the atmosphere was jamming the GPS signal along with most other signals than odd enough its own feed to the ship. The machine continued along its journey until it noticed something incredible in the distance, buildings. It (along with the human currently monitoring its progress) nearly jumped after seeing the buildings off in the distance. The machine rapidly approached them but immediatley stopped upon realizing another oddity. There where no creatures in the 'town', it was completely deserted with old wood buildings looking like they havent seen maintenance in a while. The machine walked along a road in the town and noticed other things. There where objects strewn about the street. The objects included a scooter, a camera, a flower, a book, and etc. Its almost as if these creatures where going about their daily buisness and suddenly dropped everything they where doing. Its almost as if...they just dissapeared. The machine took note of the curiosity and continued along its way through the deserted town. Upon coming to what appeared to be the center of the town the machine saw various different signs detailing different various shops and such in plain english. This especially surprised the machine and its engineer, they knew how to speak or atleast write english. A creature suddenly ran past the machines view out in the fog. He couldnt see anything but a quick sihoulette from the way the creature moved, it moved unnervingly fast. The machine aimed its rifle out into the fog and fired a few X-12 rounds to be sure that whatever the creature is knows he is armed and approached the spot where the creature dissapeared. It was 'sitting' with its back turned to the drone. It had black hair running down its neck and black, almost decayed looking flesh. It turned its head half way towards the machine and made both the machine and the human scientist jump. It was smiling, and it had no eyes where it appeared sockets where showing. The machine aimed its rifle at the creature and stated "We are humans, we come in peace and exploration and mean no harm. Please leave the area until we can send down a dimplomatic crew and greet your kind." the machine was clearly programmed to say this upon seeing a sign of an intelligent creature but it just kept half staring at the drone. It got up and turned completely towards the robotic explorer. It stood on all fours and appeared to be an equine, the tattered black hair from earlier turned out to be a mane and upon standing up it showed the ripped and decayed flesh on its body. The mane on the horse actually appeared to still have streaks of purple in it, and the flesh had patches of orange. The wings folded up onto the sides of the horse where torn and twisted in odd ways. It walked calmly over to the robot until they where standing at the machines maximum range before he said "Stop right there and dont come any closer.". The creature simply smiled wider and said one one barely audible sentence in perfect english "They are all gone." before the machines camera and other sensors cut to static.

The human scientist was sitting in his chair rapidly pressing buttons in an attempt to regain connection with the machine but upon entering the command promt he only saw one word at the top of the box "Gone". The next morning when the other personnel aboard the ship awoke the young scientist showed the others the machines findings. The planet was immediatley considered uninhabitable and no attempt was made to retrieve the lost drone. While back on his home planet of Vi David tried to think about what that meant 'They are all gone.'. Where did they go to? What happened? David kept pondering this question for hours before finally giving up. Until the day he died David would never truly know what that creature meant by 'Gone.'
