Beating The Heat

Twilight and Shawn had just laid down, and were sitting together on their beach towels looking out at the ocean, its waves crashing on the beach intermittently. The primary goal was to see how smooth Pony-Human interactions could go in a relaxed environment. If everything went well, then the observation team could “report back to HQ” and further talks between the two species could begin.

Normally humans showing up on any planet would have been deemed an act of hostility to some degree, and the thought processes into making a document were a show of peace. Hopefully the aliens that were encountered could understand English to a degree, or at least have some kind of technology to translate. A tried and true method, astronomers and scientists would scour the cosmos for planets that appeared habitable, planets and celestial bodies that has orbiting stars and moons that looked as though they could support human life, then send out a probe. If it confirmed their suspicions, then a manned vehicle carrying half a dozen people in stasis pods got launched at excess of light speeds—like the probe—towards the planet, thanks to advances in technology creating the device known as an “Alcubierre drive” that was used in the ships and probes.
