Prelude: A fall into the wastes
I was spared from the rift because of my Anonymity, because I was so unpopular and unknown. I was spared from the rift, until that day. I woke up on the dirty floor of a bar...
"Get up!" yelled a pony, who looked like he was rotting, from behind the bar. "Look, you cant just crash on the floor of the bar, by a room or get out!" Ghoul, it was a ghoul... I didn't understand where that came from, but it seemed to fit.
"Look, mister ghoul, please..."
"Shut up, smooth-coat scum. You cant just fall out of the fucking sky, crash right in the middle of our peaceful community, and expect to get free treatment!" The ghoul said. I just then began to notice details, like that he had a brown coat, a blue mane, a glowing unicorn horn, and a shotgun pointed at my head. "Look, we brought you in because we don't want anypony to think that we would be bias against smooth-coats, not that we aren't. But still, no special treatment for you... pay or leave. You fell from the Celestia damn sky, and knowing as much of zebra lore as I do, that is a bad thing. So lets see, you are Smooth-coat scum and yet you manage to fall from innumerable heights with barely a scratch?! "
"Fine" I said, and I brought out a bag of bottle caps. Somehow I knew that this was currency, not that I knew why. "how much do I owe you?"
"lets just say 200 caps for the rescue, 400 for sleeping on my floor 100 for the drink, and 300 for the night. I don't mind telling you I'm ripping you off, I don't care and you cant do anything about it. Damn smooth-coat coming into my shop asking for charity, just pay and leave. Sleep if you pay, but leave!" The ghoul grumbled, although he seemed happier, if a bit peeved and confused, when he was actually payed his crazy price.
After I was showed into the room, I fell nearly instantly to sleep. I didn't question how I had all the money I needed, or how I was able to sleep after apparently being in a sort of coma for the last few hours. In the end, maybe I should have.
Quest Perk Added: Discords Blessing
Congratulations! This perk acts like the normal perk Random, but can only be active on Unicorns with unstable magic. You get to have mind-bending feats of magic, however your normal magic that you learned up to this point will be useless and you will have to roll against a spectacular failure chart every time you use a spell (thankfully this is buffered a bit, so the effects will be MOSTLY aesthetic)! Still you do ALWAYS get the intended outcome from the spell, no roll is needed for success but the means to the end are never what you expect. Additionally: You get a 99% speech bonus when talking to Minotaurs because they revere you as an avatar of their god, so as long as you don't REALLY piss them off your good.
