Fluttershy softly trotted through the market street her saddle bag filled with various items as she knew she needed to be quick about this or risk facing the consequences. A thought that sent a shiver down her spine softly as she gently pushed through the crowd of ponies each going about their own day. Without anypony even batting an eyelash at her she was able to slip out of the market street and begin the short walk home the sky high above a beautiful light blue color while soft flawless clouds wafted high above indeed it felt like a good day. Taking a small path down towards the woods her mind was on getting the items she bought in town to their owner. " What's that smell? " A soft bubbly voice suddenly spoke cheerfully from behind Fluttershy who simply gasped aloud in shock quickly spinning around to see Pinkie Pie bouncing up and down towards her. " What smell? I don't smell anything? " Fluttershy spoke her voice softly cracking as she gazed to the pink mare who simply giggled cutely and poked her saddle bag. " The smell coming from here silly! " Pinkie smiled as she gazed gently into Fluttershys eyes who in turn took a soft breath of relief and shrugged gently. " Oh! Well I bought some muffins up town." Fluttershy whispered her pink mane falling over her eye softly as she cast a serious gaze to the silly mare that was her friend. " Since when are you the muffin type? " Pinkie smiled with a playfull remark while the yellow mare slowly batted her eye lashes as if thinking about something important. " Well they aren't really for me they are for a friend., She is doing some garden work for me in return for these." Fluttershy spoke up her voice sounding as if she were a thousand miles away at the moment. " Ooooh! Well don't let me keep you then, I just wanted to say though I'm throwing a huge party later today at Raritys'." Pinkie smiled as she quickly spun around taking out a colorful invite from within her tail using her teeth and handed it over to Fluttershy who took it in hoof. " Ok. I'll be there." Fluttershy spoke her eyes casting a soft gaze upon the well written invite with a drawn picture of Pinkie holding gifts upon it with a sweet smile on her face. " Sweet! Bring your friend too the more the crazier!! " Pinkie giggled bouncing off into the distance humming a cheerful tune to herself before vanishing from view. " Right." Fluttershy spoke under her breath quickly sliding the invite into her saddle bag before continuing on her way in silence. *** Derpy took a large bite out of the muffin in her hoof the warm flavor of butter exploding in her mouth as she almost could feel herself start to melt away in a feeling of bliss. Dirt covered her grey coat from top to bottom while she chomped down on the bag of muffins at her side mane frazzled out filled with leaves and twigs. " Are they good? " Fluttershy asked as she sat outside under a large tree its mighty frame shading her from the warm sun above while Derpy just gazed over to her with her honey colored eyes mouth full of muffin. " Mmmmhmmm...Want shome? " Derpy spoke with a full mouth as Fluttershy just allowed herself to have a small giggle nodding no silently. " No. But thank you for asking." Fluttershy suddenly sighed aloud as Derpy could sense she was still worried. " I finished the yard work., Everything is just fine don't feel worried." Derpy spoke as she took the bag of muffins in her mouth and carried them over to Fluttershy placing them down before her. The scent of butter wafted through the air as the bag was filled with freshly baked muffins of various types each calling out to be eaten and in truth Fluttershy could feel her belly rumble from hunger. " Go on. take one." Derpy smiled as she sat down at Fluttershys side both mares sharing a moment of silence before the yellow mare extended her hoof out and gently picking out a cherry muffin. Fluttershy held the muffin before her in deep thought her blue hues glowing softly in the dim light thinking about the night before and all she had gone through. No that was not right it wasn't only her in this mess Derpy too was now right at her side through both the darkness and the light. Lifting the muffin to her lips she took a slow deep bite from the baked good for once in a long while she just allowed herself to enjoy the sweet taste of something her mind drifting away if only for a moment. " Today will be just between us right? " Fluttershy asked turning her head to Derpy who slowly gazed down ears folding back as she gave it some thought before turning to Fluttershy and smiling. " Of course. That's what friends' are for right? " Derpy flashed a bright smile to the yellow pegasus who in turn simply nodded along in silence. " Yes." Fluttershy spoke barely above a whisper eyes gazing forward towards her garden seeing the freshly planted roses softly moving side to side while the wind above gently caressed them a pair of shovels splattered in blood resting right beside it. Yet as the beauty of nature grew above the truth festered below in the warm damp soil of the earth burried deep where nopony could find it pieces of a pony began to rot. The clock had started to countdown to the end. If only she knew where the path they had chosen would end then perhaps she might have tried to do things right. Some Ponies can help shape our fate. While others can lead us to our destiny. But in the end it will always be our choices who make us who we are. Some choices though are just plain... Wicked. Author's Note Been away for a little while. Had problems I had to deal with but hope now I can put some time into writing and finishing up my other ideas. I hope you all enjoy this idea. It's kinda dark but I've had this bouncing around my head for a while. Next chap will explain the night before.
