Hundreds of years after Discord rose against the princesses, a mare fights for survival in the town of New Appleloosa. Ponies are far and few between, and the world belongs to Chimeras and Griffins.

One night an old stallion comes to the town, asking for the young mare. He speaks of a place where the final ponies have banded together for survival. Dusty, the young mare, wants to go there, but to do so, she must forget everything she knows and abandon it.
It could mean she could finally know more than one other pony.
It could mean she could have a real social life.
It could mean no more hunting for survival and protection.

Or, it could all just be translucence.
