Ugh... this is SO boring! Why can't they just teach us how to be more awesome? Stupid high school. Rainbow Dash thought. She just wanted the time to go quickly so she can show off her flying skills to Soarin. Rainbow Dash and Soarin were in the same class and after school, they like to have races to see who's the best flyer. Every time they had a race, Rainbow was defeated. She did not like loosing so she wanted to prove Soarin that she was a better flyer.
Voices in the background from a teacher with a grey mane and a white coat was calling Rainbow Dash. She wasn't bothered. Slowly, her thoughts of becoming the fastest flyer drifted off to a daydream.
"Miss Dash", called a faint voice in the backgroud. She clears her throat. "I said, Miss Rainbow Dash!" the teacher raised her voice to get the distracted pagasus' attention.
"Huh, w-what? Is school finished?" Rainbow asked as she woke up in one of her deep daydreams.
"No, school is most certainly not done, were you paying ANY attention to class today?"
"Well, of course I was-"
-RING-
"-Well looks like schools over so... gotta go, bye!" Rainbow said with a little squee and off she went in a flash.
As the cyan pegasus headed outside to go home, she was stopped.
"Hey dash, up for the race?" Soaring asked confidently with a smile.
"Oh yeah! Bring it on!"
"Think you can beat me. Never."
"Oh lets just see..." Rainbow smiled confidently and opened her wings. "Um, first to that cave over there, wins!" Rainbow pointed towards the cave.
"Ready." Soarin said while opening his wings.
"Set"
Rainbow licked her lips and was ready to fly off.
"GO!" Soarin shouted as they flew off in the same time.
They were in the air. Side by side they flew. Both Rainbow and Soarin was flying as fast as they could. They glanced at each other for a second. Soarin smiled and flapped his wings to be in the lead leaving Rainbow Dash behind him. "Haha" Soarin laughed.
Soarin was so close to the cave. It was just there.
Lets just see about that Soarin. She thought as she whizzed right passed him. Rainbow looked behind with a smirk on her face to see Soarin. "Who's faster n-"
"Look out!" Soarin inturupped her bragging.
It was too late. Rainbow looked forward and in just a second it had hit her. Her wing got stuck in a tree branch making her fall down uncontrollably into a bush and bounced inside the cave.
"Oh no..." Soarin said as he flew down to inside the cave and saw Rainbow Dash on the floor.
"Ugh... my wing!" Rainbow groaned.
"Here, lemme help you," Soarin offered a hoof to Rainbow Dash. But she denied the help and Rainbow stood up to find a good place to take a seat in the cave.
For a few seconds it was silence but Soarin broke it as he asked nervously "Looks like you won! Hehe. Good job." He smiled, hoping it could make Rainbow feel a bit better but it didn't.
"Won.. WON? I FELL AND MY WING HURTS. THIS IS YOUR FAULT FOR YOUR STUPID RACE!" Rainbow shouted in anger.
"Stupid race? Um excuse me, but you agreed to have a race!"
The loud voice made the rock in the cave start to rumble. They did not notice.
"AND YOU SHOULD'VE LOOKED WHERE YOU WERE GOING!" Soarin continued but this time, he got angry because Rainbow Dash was blaming him for the accident.
Every noise inside made the rocks start to crumble towards the cave's opening.
"WELL, YOU SHOULD'VE SAVED ME!" Rainbow Dash said furiously.
With that last echo, the cave closed in.
